Off to a great start =) Oh gotta say I'm liking this mare's name
5731069 somehow i thought you might the second and concluding chapter will be up soon, but there will be a lot of sequels detailing Wildfire's life
Yay I can't wait!
Just added my thumbs up, great story I must say, erf, now, where is my Kleenex?....
Right in the feels...
Have an upvote and a favorite my friend.
Wow! Okay first off my writing looks like trash compared to yours. And second, really good job I thought this chapter was some very sturdy ground for you to build on. I was saddened about Heatwave though, but I have some hope that Wildfire will be okay.
So I sit here, five in the morning with some shitty microwaved breakfast stuff before me, after I've been up for the past few hours at a fire of my own, I can't help the smile like an idiot while reading this. While I have only one chapter down, and I've thoroughly read the description, I'm going to continue on, as it seems quite good from here.
I love this. I would buy it if it was published as a book
I finally got around to reading this story and I have a question: Is Wildfire based on yourself? I don't know what you are like, but I have my curiosities.
By the throne... what a start!
Wonderful story so far! I was planning on reading Wildfire 2: Releasing the Flame but decided to do things in the right order for once. This is an instant favorite already (though it may take months to read...) I will never regret reading this (as long as I don't read another chapter now... I'll never go to sleep on time and I'll fail the million tests I have tomorrow.) it's one of the best things I've seen. Great to see that you're such an amazing author, now I have something long to read in the next few months! Let's hope that tragedy tag was just for Heatwave... I doubt it though...
Finally got the time to read this oh my god I hate my life XD
You already had me at the math part but dang that ending was not what I had expected. Let's see where this is going! XD

I'm glad you liked it. Surprising how many people share Wildfire's dislike of math
In a way when I look at this, while I may not know much about firefighter work I do know a thing or two about chain of command. When working at the library, I take orders from a king of boss who takes their orders from their boss and everything that goes along with it. But at the same time, I get where this lass was coming from. While all she had to do was using the rain cloud in an attempt to weaken the fire and not so much put it out, that would've been good enough. But she is also a pony with heart: She saw that a family was in danger and could not afford to sit idly by while they sit and watch the flames draw close. So she took a risk and somehow she managed to save them... Only in doing so, there was a price.
A close colleague of hers would end up taking the fall, course we'd understand the reasons in the next chapter. Not just any colleague, someone who served as a mentor who taught her what it means to be a firefighter even if she wasn't officially with the department or so it seems. Even something as special as getting a cutie mark bodes nothing to soften the fact that 'mistakes were made'. And going into this chapter, we do have to wonder if this decision continues to haunt her for the remainder of her journey.
