This is stalking, and it's probably best if Spike does leave, at least long enough to get some badly needed therapy....

Uhm... yes, yes it is. Watching somebody while they sleep is, indeed, invasive, if you do not have their permission. It's also trespassing to do it from the neighbor's house, just sayin'.
There's also the fact that he mentions taking advantage of being in the Boutique to hide where he can proceed to watch Rarity unawares, staring at her from behind her umbrella stand for hours on end. Very invasive, since even if he was invited in, he was not invited to stand there and stare at her creepily.
It's not being a controlling stalker, granted, nor a violent one - though self-harming is often very few steps away from other-harming - but it's definitely stalking.
5524965 I meant more along the lines that he's not doing it to get her to notice him or to be a part of her or her life, merely to enjoy seeing her... but yes, those scenarios make him look like a creep, especially if he was doing it for the reason I attempted to suggest, or was a real life figure
