Transformers Armada: Friendship is Magic (working title)

Prologue: War Comes Home

Cybertron.....

A once peaceful and beautiful world, now nothing but a charred and cracked warzone. But to Optimus Prime, it was home. A battered and burned home, but a home. However, his mind was not on his home. His mind was concentrated on the heat of battle. Laser bolts were flying everywhere as Optimus shouted orders to his fellow Autobots. "Hold this line!!!" he shouted. "We can't let the Decepticons reach the ship!!!" Optimus knew that the battle was a loosing fight, but both him and his forces new their mission: Protect the Minicons as they escape Cybertron.

The Minicons had lived on Cybertron for years, some working together with the Autobots, and some with the Decepticons. But this constant war over them was to much for them to handle. They had finally realized that all the death, all the destruction on this planet was because of them. They no longer wanted to be apart of this fight. Once Optimus was informed of the Minicons plight, he and the Autobots agreed to help them escape Cybertron. However, the Decepticons had somehow gotten word of this operation and immediatly took action. By order of their leader, Megatron, a huge swarm of Decepticons had intercepted the Autobot evacuation team and had engaged them in combat.

The plan was to hold off all Decepticon forces while the Minicons prepared for evacuation. However that was turning out to be easier said than done. Optimus was loosing soldiers by the second. Time for an upgrade he thought. In the blink of an optical sensor, Optimus transformed and combined with his mobile command center. 'Super' Optimus Prime then fired every weapon at his disposal at the oncoming Decepticons. He hit a few of them with a direct hit, but the sheer number of them was overwhelming. He was praised as one of the greatest warriors in Cybertronian history, but he was still only one bot, he couldn't fight them all. His squad was down to him, and his second-in-command Vice Commander Jetfire, and he wasn't exactly at 100% optimal fighting condition. "This isn't good, we're loosing this fight." said Optimus in a worried tone. "Aww c'mon Optimus," quipped Jetfire "We've been through 20 times worse than this." Optimus chuckled a bit, "At least then you had the use of both of your arms, old friend." Jetfire stifled a laugh, "Yeah well, working appendages do tend to help in a fight." Jetfire then turned his attention to his heavily damaged left arm, wires and metal shrapnel sticking out of it. Jetfire, being a robot, couldn't feel pain, but the inability to use it was painful enough. "We can't quit now, the Minicons are depending on us!" Optimus declared. "Heh, I'm not about to give up just yet. TRANSFORM!" In a flash, Jetfire went from a robot, to a jet as he flew over the Decepticon strikeforce and pelted them with laser fire.

Optimus knew that Jetfire was a tough fighter, but he needed help. Optimus then turned to his own partner Minicon, Sparkplug. "I won't force you to fight, but my friend needs your help." The only response the little Minicon gave was a series of beeps and chirps. Sparkplug then jumped into the air and landed on Optimus's shoulder. "POWERLINK!" Sparkplug transformed and attached himself to Optimus's shoulder. Optimus felt a huge amount of power surge through his circuits after he powerlinked. He then used his newly obtained power and fired every weapon in his arsenal at the incoming enemy forces. At least five more Decepticons were fried by Optimus's laser volley. The Decepticons finally had enough. Without Minicons, none of them stood a chance against Optimus in his "Powerlinked-Super Mode". The strikeforce's leader called for a full retreat from all Decepticon forces in the area.

By then, all the Minicons had boarded the escape vessel and were ready to leave Cybertron.....all, but Sparkplug. He detached from Optimus and landed at the entrance ramp to the ship. Optimus detached from his command center and returned to normal "Thank you old friend, we couldn't have saved the rest of the Minicons without you." Sparkplug beeped in response. "Goodbye Sparkplug, I hope the Minicon's peace will last for a long time to come." Sparkplug smiled in approval and stepped aboard the ship, the rest of the Minicons preparing to launch.The Minicons activated a warpgate to a planet far away from the worries of war. A simple planet charted by Autobots years ago during the war, which was mainly used for refugees anyway. As the ship took off, Optimus noticed too late that a Decepticon battlecruiser was giving chase to the Minicon escape vessel.

"NO!!!!" Optimus shouted. However, it was to late. The Decepticon cruiser opened fire on the Minicon vessel as they started to pass through the warpgate, blowing up one of the engines. The explosions caused a chain-reaction in the ship which fried the warpgate controls, sending the ship on a crash course through warpgate after warpgate until finally crash landing on a moon orbiting an uncharted planet. The impact of the crash caused the Minicons aboard the ship to go into stasis and eject from the vessel to the nearby planet. Thousands upon thousands of Minicons rained down on the planet like a meteor storm, illuminating the sky with other-worldly energy. There, on the strange new world, the Minicons lay dormant, Waiting to be found and reactivated.

Millions of years later..............

Celestia's sun shined bright on the peaceful town of Ponyville. Inside the local library, Twilight Sparkle was packing for a trip to a new cave formation found just outside the town limits. "There, that should about do it!" Twilight said as she put on her saddlebags. Spike took the chance to speak his mind about the trip. "I dunno Twilight, are you sure this is such a good idea to go check out that cave? I mean, we don't even know whats in there." Twilight giggled a bit at Spike's seemingly overly-worried query. "Well Spike, that's kind of the point of exploring. You know, to learn more about a place you don't know about?" she responded. "I know, but it could still be dangerous." he warned. Twilight simply nodded. "Don't worry Spike, I asked Rainbow Dash to come along with us. We'll be able to handle any trouble we come across"
"Well......" Spike still sounded worried, but arguing with Twilight was like arguing with a brick wall. "I still don't-" he started to say, before he was cut off by Twilight. "Are you coming Spike?!" she yelled from the door. "Coming!" he yelled back.

The rocky area surrounding the cave was steep and covered with sharp rocks. But the dangerous trail didn't deter Twilight nor Rainbow Dash. However, Spike was having second...er...third...well he was already regretting following them. "We should turn back you two, nopony's up here to save us if any of us get hurt." he warned. "Aww c'mon Spike, lighten up will ya?" Dash laughed. "What could possibly happen out here?"
"Well-"
"Don't answer that."
Twilight giggled at the argument, but still continued along the trail until finally, they reached the cave.

As they traversed the dark and damp corridors of the cave, Twilight noticed a green light emanating from the end of the tunnel.But, nopony's supposed to be down here, Celestia told me herself.
Dash and Spike noticed it to. "Uhh....what is that?" Spike asked in a somewhat scared tone. "I've never seen anything like it" Dash said. Twilight continued walking deeper into the cave towards the light. "H-h-hey Twilight, wait for us!" said Spike as he hurriedly tried to catch up to Twilight. Dash caught up to the two to find just exactly what was causing the light. It looked like some kind of shield with a large 'M' on the front. "What do you suppose that is Twi?" Dash inquired. "I have absolutely no idea Dash." replied Twilight. She reached out a hoof to grab the mysterious object when Spike asked "Uh, Twilight, I think we shouldn't-" BOOM!!! The object erupted into a blinding white light that blurred the vision of all three companions as soon as Twilight simply touched the object. All three of them screamed for they didn't know what was happening. The light faded soon after it started, leaving nothing but the seemingly endless darkness of the cave.

**SIDE NOTE- I know this chapter is short, but the coming chapters will be much longer. Keep in mind this is my first ever chapter to my first ever fan-fic. Constructive criticism is requested so that the coming chapters can be much better. Here's hoping for many more stories from yours truly!**

The only complaint I have is that; every time a different character speaks, you should start a new paragraph.

Try starting a new line for each new set of dialogue, might make conversations less bunched up. Also, I felt that more work was placed on the Transformers and the ponies were rushed to be finished. Otherwise, I hope to see more.
