Just a pony being fabulous. Writer of vignettes, clop, experiments, a great deal of trash and the occasional gem

A sobering thought.

Not a topic the main show would bring into focus like that (though they do try to touch on a few subjects most kids' shows shy away from), but then fanworks has the option to push the limits further.

All in all, a good read. Though I suspect writing it was more cathartic for you than reading it was for most of us, yes?

Some missing punctuation, otherwise well-written.

You have no idea. :raritywink:

I started tearing up at Pinkie's gesture with the oatmeal. Unflavored oatmeal for the queen of sugar? That's great love... or at least feels like it. On further reflection I guess it goes along with the "watching paint dry contest". It also reminds me of the theory I heard somewhere that Pinkie is into sweets because she isn't a very complicated mare in many ways, and massive amounts of sugar are a good way of cheering people up usually. Obviously she is a three dimensional character like all of them but she does have a certain obliviousness and directness to her.

I also makes me wonder if "Oatmeal?! Are you CRAZY?!" could be worked in as her recounting how she initially reacted to the suggestion from someone (perhaps even Diamond herself) that oatmeal would be a good food to bond over, before later being convinced.

EDIT:

I'd count them and do my best to stay awake, and hope when I do fall asleep, I'll have a nightmare.

When I first read this sentence I was sure that the next paragraphs were going to explain how "Because, when I have a nightmare, Princess Luna comes, and we can talk for a while." As it is, it is just an editing mistake, and you probably don't want to edit it to make my mistaken idea true... but maybe in an interqual between the this and Lost Letters... and incidentally, I would recommend having links to the first story in the series (this one I think) in the long description, and using FiMFictions new-ish "select the sequel" option on the same page where you select the genres and characters and enter the short and long descriptions.

EDIT^2: In case you couldn't tell, I liked this.

Pinkie is all about love. She knows sadness, and she knows hatred, and she knows the depth of emotions none of us could even dream off- so finding a way to give love to others, show them that they're not alone- smile smile smile, is Pinkie's True power.

At least in my head cannon.

Sounds reasonable to me... did you see both of my edits to my previous message?
