Well, if you're sticking with Fallverse canon, then the whole thing is nothing but plotholes. Still, this wasn't badly written, all things considered. Still think the entire setting is beyond dumb, filled with Mary Sue villains and the main characters playing hot potato with the Idiot Ball, but your writing is quite... well, good.

4870781 That's what I'm trying to do, fill things in with what I have to work with. Try to have things make more sense, fill in as many plotholes as I can, and give it a better rounding out.

4870802

Well, you got your work cut out for you. Still, whatever gets people off, I guess. Just wish it wasn't at the expense of the characters.

4870994 This is one of currently five canon stories, with a good many fanon stories as well. The rest of the stories are listed in the Fall of Equestria group.

What the Hell is Fall of Equestria?! Where did it come from? Why is the plot not that interesting to me?! And why does it keep popping up every where I look?!

AAAAAAaaaaarRRRRrgggghhgHH–!!

"I bet it's good"–Egoraptor

Hey, Twipet! I see you published your story! I also see you've already drawn the expected moralvoting range^^

Huh. It's not yet in the canon story folder. Better have NCN do something about that!

Say, do you have spots for OC cameos?
... please don't hurt me for asking...

More, soon, right? RIGHT???

4870802 fill in as many plotholes I see what you did there. Ugh me :facehoof:

4871139 That was terrible! Plenty of both will be filled, though.

4871137 Yup. Chapter 2's completed and 3 is reaching that state. 4, 5, and 6 are under planning.

4870802

They landed on Equestria’s shores, pretended to be our friends, our neighbors. Instead, they stabbed us in the back, placed collars around our necks, and plotted the fall of Equestria.

So... the ponies let these sexist, violent creatures, whose entire culture is based on conquest and slavery and see an entire gender as nothing but property... just run around free inside their country? Let them get close enough to enslave them? And it all happened in just... how long?

Not exactly off to a great start with the whole "fill in plot holes" thing.

Okay, okay, I apologize. I don't begrudge people for what gets them off. Honestly, I'm just curious why people keep trying to "fill in plot holes." It's just a dumb setting for fetish porn! Just embrace the absurdity and we can all go home happy! It's when people try and rationalize and defend it as a worthwhile story that could happen in canon that butthurt starts to flow. The Fall of Equestria story suffers from the same flaw as Rainbow Factory: the only way it works is if every character we know from the show is either insane or just plain stupid.

But again, y'all have fun with your setting. I mean, hell, I'm into some freaky shit, too, so I ain't "Moral high-grounding," thank you very much, 4871136. As someone above said, this individual story is very polished, a certain cut above the typical fair this AU tends to produce, so I'm not downvoting you. Just saying that the entire premise is silly. But then again, you can say the same with a lot of clopfics, so... eh, whatever.

4871229 Actually, the majority of Equestria's population does NOT know about the Caribou. A tiny fishing port certainly wouldn't. They quite literally thought that the caribou were friendly. Celestia of course knows about them, being the ruler of a country, but the populace as a whole doesn't. Those that do either don't know much or they're in a position of power where they need to know.

4871249

Yeah, but Celestia still let them in the country. And they went through the Crystal EMpire. At least that what Twilight's Fall says, which is, if I understand correctly, the "canon" version of it.

4871229
You may not be one of them, but I'd bet you money that a lot of the downvotes come from folks who think it makes them better people.

4871265 Celestia didn't know. The invasion of Lindisbarne is completely under wraps. Advanced scout parties watching the countryside. Temporary wards and runestones to keep watch, and then after, advanced wards and runestones by the Runemasters themselves. It's a staging point. Nobody gets in, nobody gets out, no word goes anywhere. A small fishing port that mostly keeps to itself? Nobody's going to know.

4871291
Which would be great... if this was setting up some huge, epic coupe. But according to "canon" the Caribou barged in and took over Canterlot with, like, little to no resistance.

4871298 That's not my story. Mine deals with everything up to the Crystal Empire. However, there are a lot of background elements that are only hinted at or not even said so far. I'll be going into those.

4871298
Um... the Changelings did exactly that with even less setup.

4871315

Exactly.

And then the ponies fall into the same trap again!

Eh, whatever.

Long description:

Sunrise Shimmer was a Canterlot unicorn who foolishly made a deal with her family to visit them for a month every few years.

Short description:

Everypony's throwing them a welcoming celebration and the Canterlot unicorn Sunrise Splendor hopes it'll be exciting in this boring town.

Sorry, but it caught my eye. I'm guesing that "Sunrise Shimmer" was a mistake seeing as "Sunrise Splendor" is the name used in the actual story.

4872668 Nice catch, thanks for telling me!

4871330
Do you really think there's a team revising Equestria's FM 2-0 to deal with unexpected threats and infiltration? Their military intelligence is a mix of the old "whoops, I think they heard us coming" and "oh right, I forgot to tell you guys about this deadly prophesy until it happened".

A real professional trying to reform the sloppy institutional culture of the army/guard would actually make for a great story. But a military is only as capable as the culture it draws from, and all three tribes are too "reformed" to produce the Guderians and Dayans who could make Equestrian doctrine active and forward-thinking, rather than passive and unresponsive to obvious lessons.

I hope you that you will explain why they don't have a land anymore.
Very well written goes slowly putting the pieces in place, I like it.

I don't get it why people says that there are plot holes (not talking about the innuendo)
I mean do they read the canon stories ?
If I look in a dictionary "A plot hole is a gap or inconsistency in a storyline that creates a paradox in the story that cannot be reconciled with any explanation"
I (personally) don't see any paradox for now, the only thing that I see it's just that the universe is not completely revealed, not yet explained.
Please explain what do you mean by plot hole.

4873358 Everything will be explained soon enough.

As for plotholes, a lot of it is from there being a lot of pictures and stories, but little explained so far, leaving people not knowing how Point A got to Point B and how thus Point C happened. I'm hoping to tie everything together,

A quick question:

Is Lindisbarne an island town or a port town on the mainland or what is it?

4876025

It is a isolated port town on the extreme north end of the frontier of equestria and crystal empire

4876182 4876025 Lindisbarne is on the north-eastern coast of Equestria near the borders of the Crystal Empire. Not close enough to be in or near the snowy wastes, but far enough north that summers are mild and winters harsh. The nearest town is about a two-three day walk away. They are small enough that they mostly keep to themselves, though they occasionally trade the fish as well as any other small marine creatures they catch to the gryphons and various other races interested in them.

Until this point in the story, they'd never come across the caribou before, so outside of the Mayor and a few of his Council, nobody knew who they were.

4873499
I've never thought that people where considering the pictures as canon.

4881567 Aye, the pictures are canon, most of them.

4881598
so how do we distinguish the canon from the non canon ?
from the artist ?

4882141 Usually what the topic is. For example, all of the 'superhero' ones aren't canon. Same for a lot of the fan ones.

4882257 Do you mean the hive creatures with the vines and eggs? Yup. You'll get to see those soon.

Ugh, caribou again.

And the stories never get any better.

Oh well, consider the source as it were.

4886751 I suppose it'll get good once Celestia's mind is broken. :)

4902901 It'll get better when some werewolves show up and starting eating the god-damned caribou.

:trixieshiftright:

You know, I've been following the whole Fall of Equestria ever since Smudge Proof started the whole thing, and I must say, your story is quite well written. So far you're quite following the 'canon' set in this universe. You also have to put in that there will be purple collars, the ones who are completely broken.

For the rest, I don't have anything else to note, despite the fact that you'd said that this will be in the perspective from the caribou. Now I'm quite confused. Is this going to be written in Sunrise's point of view as she views the inner machinations of the caribou overlords, or is there going to be separate chapters detailing back stories of the caribou culture, IF there's anything to be written about that is?

4919478 The Purple collar doesn't exist yet in the story, but it soon will in a couple chapters.

As for the point of view, it's Sunny's eyes looking in, seeing how the Caribou operate and why. It'll be a little puzzle for the readers as she learns tidbits here and there. A puzzle of what happened. How did they lose their homeland? Who is Dainn? Why do they do this, etc etc etc.

Also, Non_Creepy_Nickname started it, Smudge was just the artist.

I was kind of hoping that Sunny would meet her mother. so, it looks like Vestri took ownership of the house. Since that's sun's mom's place if I remeber right does that mean he owns her as well?

4924108 The house is actually guest quarters. They have varying degrees of empty housing for ponies visiting, usually traders. Don't worry, she'll meet her mother soon enough.

4924156 Is the house owned by the township or is it part of an estate?

4871229 good point
it took me forever to get to the bottom of the page....

I'm pretty sure her real test of character involves a falling blade.
