Compendium of Steve

The One Who Writes. Intermittently, Without Fail.

E

In the wake of heartbreak, Rarity is left caring for a jilted Fluttershy. Yet she may find no better opportunity to do more than just tend to her saddened friend. But can she succeed, or will fate make it impossible? The important thing is that one must learn to roll with the punches.

What the... just... I don't even know...

Cool story , bro.

"Oh take me, my one and only!"

Honestly, this part got me thinking much more than what you were doing. Should have used this, considering what you were setting up. But then what do I know?

As for the fic, I can't really say anything.

You're a terrible person. :facehoof:

This is the greatest thing ever. Other than seeking beauty by donny boy.

I still have to ask, why? Take an upvote though, I think I have more appreciation for this now than I did during the writeoff. :B

And I respond, "Why not?" It's the underlying goal in most of my writing to have the most self-indulgent fun possible, while also testing and pushing the boundaries of literature, deconstructing and remaking it into potentially thought-provoking forms. Can you RickRoll a writing contest? Can you make the reader realize that what they're reading is merely the whims and fancy of the author rather than the honest actions of the characters involved? Do the readers know that the characters are mere playthings for the writer, or do they evoke a life in their behaviors and happenings to justify their actions, sufferings, triumphs, perhaps as a means to find understanding of themselves via proxy? Just how much can I screw with the audience atop my lofty seat of Deus Ex Machinations? For that is what the writer is: a god manufactured by ink, page and type. I just happen to feel especially giddy with my sub-divinity.

Sorry for the ramble, but I feel honored when someone of significance on this site takes notice, and it really has been a long time. I'm surprised you managed to find this nugget, as lowly as it is. Appreciate the upvote, and all the best in keeping this site afloat. It still serves a good source of entertainment :derpytongue2:

Well, I was there at the writeoff when it was written (this was the third one ever, my god!), so don't be too surprised. :B
