Equestria is dead. Using massive weapons of utter destruction, the Caribou have killed all but a handful of ponies, including Princess Twilight. But leaving the Princess of Magic alive was folly. After all, love conquers all. Even death.

Twix-a-corn well haven't seen that before (no I am not being sarcastic)
Trixie is an alicorn? Is this a reference to thE "Reflections" arc of the comiC?
Trixiecorn!!!
Well I guess she's learned not to show boat anymore. So I'll accept this alicorn trixie.
Oh wow. I was not expecting that to happen, but now I'm even more excited. Kudos to Trixie indeed. Holding onto her plan through twenty years of torture had to have been excruciating. All went off without a hitch, though, and you could say she's been rewarded. Wonder if she'll meet up with Twilight anytime soon?
I forsee delicious carnage! makes me all tingly in all the right places
First time that I have seen Trixie as a badass, nice.
Hmm... I really hope that Trixie and Twilight get along. I mean, they have a common enemy, comparable power, and seem to have buried the hatchet in the show. How awesome would it be see the two of them trying to good-naturedly outdo the other on the battlefield?
"Ha! 'Princess,' The Great and Powerful Trixie has just slain five caribou with a single swipe of her blade! Beat that!"
*Shing!* "Hmm? Oh, sorry, Trixie, I couldn;'t hear you over the screams of the six I just killed with one strike. What were you saying?"
Wow , now that a dedicated , clever and badass Trixie.
Seing as you asked about a pairing in the previous chapter ( I said I would wait) , given what happened in this chapter I respecfully propose Twixie ( and Twidash , to a much lesser extend).
Sweet Ghandi's Shining Bold Dome.... Excellent, if not shock inducing, chapter. Really had me taken back there for a couple of moments.
Daaammmnnnn! You go Trixie, and it sounds like those 20 years of torture and suffering payed off too! Good riddance to those filthy Caribou as well. However, I have a question regarding Trixie's changing into an alicorn. In particular, these few lines:
What exactly did Trixie do? It almost sounds like she sucked in the Caribou's magic to power herself up and change species. It almost sounds like Trixie has turned into a female alicorn version of Sombra, but minus the evil that Sombra had. Really cool chapter, the reuniting of Twilight and her friends was awesome but heart wrenching, and I look forward to the next chapter.

Basically, Trixie used outright blood magic. She took their life force and souls in order to power herself up, and that power put her into the threshold to become an alicorn.
Trixie is now some kind of deamonic alicorn? This is getting good.
And then Twilight and Trixie teamed up and rained down fire and lightning upon the caribou. The end.
But seriously, I'm looking forward to the next chapters. With two separate resistances, things will quickly spiral out of the caribou's control and I really want to see Twilight and Trixie's reaction to each other (if they meet any time soon, of course)
It seems to me that Trixie used a form of necromancy. Using souls to power spells. I wonder how she knew of necromancy. Twilight had twenty years alone to figure it out, I spose trixie kind of did too. I hope Trixie meets up with Twilight before she tries to revive anyone (assuming she thinks to try) because I doubt that she's worked out the love thing that makes it work properly. If she tried it she'd likely get mindless zombies. Also, killing them with magical dick explosions, priceless!
Soooo, we now have a necromancer and a bloodmage(?) or what? That should get interesting. I almost pitty the caribou; almost.
4880341 i agree in all things, except the last bit. i don't pity the caribou, i revel in their imminent demise. there's no true conflict in this story. there is only love, and slaughter.
4880077 oh my god, i think you made me cackle delightfully. great minds work alike, eh? u gotta PM me sometime or something.
Yay! New update! Yes!!!
And I must say, it was well worth the wait, hon! I can't wait to see what happens in the next one!
I especially love the beautiful, tender way that each of Twilight's friends, in turn, as they were each resurrected, helped her to bring back the remaining ones. It was a lovely, lovely, wondrous thing, and just serves to illustrate the depth of the love and friendship between them.
Usually, it takes a fic a lot to make me cry like a baby, and this one, my friend, did just that.
Now, that said, I can-not wait to see them kick some major Caribou ass together! Those barbarians are in for some major, major hurtin'!
And just think of the looks on those dumb Cervines' ugly faces when they realize that they can't kill the Element Bearers this time around! Priceless; absolutely priceless!
Although I don't think that Twilight, or her Reborn friends, or her Knights (the CMC, natch) are gonna approve of what she's up to. Twilight wants to reunite all of Equestria's ponies under one banner. Ergo, I don't think that they'll be overly impressed by what Twixie's done.
One observation/question: I wonder if their little trek toward the Crystal Empire will take them anywhere near Ponyville? If so, ohhhhhh, boy. I foresee a major confrontation between Twilight and and Twixie. That should, indeed, be quite interesting.
Evidently, they don't know that there are more than just this number of ponie surviving in Equestria.
Yet, anyway.
Of course, there's still the resurrected populations of Canterlot and Ponyville. But, as I just said, they don't know about them yet.
Wonder what will happen when they do find out about that? Hmmmmm.........
Anyway, should be interesting.

You know, for some weird reason, this little "exchange" between Twilight and Twixie that you came up with here reminds me, very much, of the friendly bet that Legolas and Gimli had going between them in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, about which one of them could kill the most Orcs.
(I don't really remember how that came out, or who won that. Been awhile since I've read the books.)
(Note to self: hunt those up the next time I go to the library.........)
4880456 Well, I said almost, because they deserve what demise comes their way!
4880580 Yep.
And you said that right!
Trixie-corn!
Trixe's back!!! Was there ever any doubt? She hasn't lost any of her theatrical flair, killing caribou with exploding penis runes... (Never thought I'd ever type that...)
I figure she got all alicorned by getting enough power and apparently creating a new form of magic that kills enemies and heals allies.
Since Trixie probably knows what happened to the Princesses, as the caribou would have spread those stories to quell any lingering hope. So I doubt there will be much bad blood between her and Twilight. And the fact that it seems that if you combined Twilight's Love Necromancy with Trixie's Sanguiturgy (heh blood magic) you could restore the ponies back to physical wholeness if not full life. All it takes is love and the blood of your enemies. And yeah still voting Twixie and Sparity for shipping.
Hell, I don't even want to see a confrontation between Twilight and Trixie, I'd rather it be a few seconds of intense staring followed by hugs and tears...
Exploding dicks. Now I've seen it all.
Kinda curious now, given the nature of Trixie's transformation and power, how the crystal heart barrier will react to her. I mean, its kept out the caribou and all their dark god worshipping evilness this long at least. Sombra as well for that matter.
Lol, might be interesting to see the survivors take refuge in the Crystal Empire only for Trixie to end up stuck outside
i love it. Trixie is as the doctor would say Brilliant
Additional necromantic alicorns? With a touch of fleshcrafting? Oh yes please.
4880851
Dude, that sounds awesome! But I think even if they work together, their different forms of Necromancy would cause them to clash heads at times.
4881939 "the enemy of my enemy is my frienemy"
Trixie's group is full of the true survivors. Most of Twilight's are still dead, just reanimated, sadly. I doubt they can have children. I wonder if 3000 is enough of a gene pool to sustain a race? There could be more hidden, but the Caribou seem very thorough.
All that said, awesome chapter. Watching people getting what they deserve is one of the best feelings there is.
wonder what everyone is going to think of twilights kingdom? does it have a name?
KILL KILL KILL KILL KILLL RRHHHMMHMHMMLMLMLM THEY TOOK AN EYE YOU TAKE BOTH OF THEIRS THEY TOOK A TOOTH YOU TAKE THEIR JAW THEY TOOK YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND COUNTRY YOU TAKE THEIR SOULS AGHHGGHGRHGRHRGHRGHG BURN THEIR HOMES SALT THE GROUND RAPE AND TORTURE THEIR LOVED ONES IT'S TIME FOR RETRIBUTION HHHHRMMMMLMLL
4884566 that's fucked up...
I LIKE IT!!!!
Are these bodies preserved as well? Guess the Caribou don't even treat their own dead that well.
Sharp hoof? Or are the caribou breeding with the heartless killing machines of the ocean?!
"wind"
NOOOOOOO!!! Oh well, some people like Trixie and others do not.
Glad to see you are back on your feet and the shrapnel didn't make you part of the Borg.
So awesome~
Seeing the Elements come together again--deeply hurt and scarred, but unbroken--was as soul-touching to read as Dinky's animation of Ditzy and Sparkler. And their friendship resonating through the love necromancy... it was beautiful, and shines with hope.
I can't wait to see it. Not a ragtag group of ponies making a mad rush to take down a single town of monsters, but the reformed and empowered armies of Twilight's Equestria, with the Elements of Harmony at their head, bearing down onto the Caribou...
I like the Sun-Moon bit, by the way--the world is in eternal Twilight. Fitting.
Trixie getting everypony free was brilliantly and outstandingly handled. Such a smart mare...
Trixie and her magic do worry me a bit... love necromancy has been pretty much stated to not have the negative effects of normal necromantic magic, but Trixie's blood/soul magic hasn't really been explained enough to know if we should worry about her mental state. Although I'm not certain if she's an alicorn--you mentioned the sharp teeth. Incidentally, is her horn still blackened, or was that just while using the magic?
But if she is... is she going to become a princess? It seems like alicorn=de facto princess in the series, but the only alicorns we've seen were already princesses or were being groomed for princesshood already before their ascension. If so, what would Trixie be princess of? Determination? Patience? Vengeance? Freedom?
Seeing a Trixie-Twilight team up would be amazing, and I hope it happens. But Trixie becoming an alicorn and a leader does set her up to be an opponent to Twilight--it isn't hard to imagine a pony to be horrified by the animation of their dead and what could be seen as desecration of their bodies. This new magic isn't malefic, but what it is is still disturbing enough that it could be perceived as such. I imagine a breeding camp would be pretty high on the priority list in terms of locations to strike first, so I don't think it will be too long until Twilight, at least, is aware of Trixie.
Like I said, I hope it happens, but I won't assume that them working together is a certainty.
(Although if you could shoot down my Trixie vs Twilight worry, that would be great. There's already so many ways things can go wrong here that worrying about that on top of everything is depressing.)
Also, we haven't seen much of Twilight and the other ponies. Will we see some interaction between Twilight and the ponies she's brought back (besides the Mane Six)? We've just seen her with Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Applebloom, and Dinky so far.
It's so far been heavy on actions, description, and memory, with very little conversation, but now that the ponies we know are half-living again hopefully we can see more character byplay
Indeed. I liked the trixie alicorn part as i had no coral about it. You did an ever amazing job.
4893383
Thank you for such a post! And indeed, there will be alot of interaction between Twilight and Trixie. Later on. The Living Ponies have alot to go through yet. And yes, Trixie's horn remained blackened, and whether or not she becomes a Princess remains to be seen.
4883289 If I remember rightly, a minimum of 500-1,000 individuals is usually thought of as the minimum to prevent in-breeding based problems, but that only works for humans (probably). Not so sure about ponies or, indeed, actual real horses, but 3,000. or so seems like more than enough to me.
Have to...power through...hatred of trixie...
Combustible dicks, that my beat combustible lemons.
I believe you mean:
4880114 "...That still only counts as one!"
5090192 nono, he ment shark. this particular caribou has a shark for a hoof and i will be damned if try and take this from me!
AND THE FEELS CONTINUE!
This time happy sadictness of what about to happen to the caribou.
I sincerely hope Twi takes her time with the king. Then perhaps after she's finished killing him, she could suspend his soul in a never ending eternity of pain and torment...
Okay, that was bleeding awesome. Trixie ascending to a dark alicorn and blowing up Caribou via their dicks. Weird, but deliciously karmic.
Oh... this is good.
