"Rangers Lead the Way", that's what people say. US Army Rangers have lead the way into every armed conflict the US has been in since it was formed. Now, Hunter Squad of the 75th Regiment have crash landed in Equestria.
In Ponyville, Twilight was preparing to study some spells Celestia had sent, when a large flying box flys over Ponyville towards the Everfree Forest. On the way to the crash site with her friends, 2 of the inhabitants of that box save them from a manticore.

Constructive Criticism Welcome! Oh and any relation to anyone living or dead is completely coincidental. However, if it is someone in a book, movie or video game it's because I couldn't come up with something

The weirdest thing is that you ended this chapter with 1,776 words.

Just because I'm a WWII buff, did you know that the term "Rangers, Lead the way!" was first used at Point Du Hoc at Normandy in 1944?

4527814 yep, it was. They led the way for the invasion of Normandy :D

4527979
4527979 They led the way on the beaches, but the 82nd and 101st Airborne took the backroads (even though the Germans flooded the land). So they both have equal footing as leading the war for the invasion at Normandy.

4527994 They led the way on the English Channel ,And the 101st and 82nd took Pegasus bridge in preparation.So..yep.

4528034 Just because I like sabaton and the airborne...

Dont abbreviate the rank in the dialogue.

Ah, and you must be Cpt. Sanderson

Captain Sanderson

Dont say it was electrocuted, the brass dont know what happened other than they're missing

Just saying, that is HORRIBLE for the gun.It gets dirt in the muzzle, and can break the weapon.

You really should separate the speakers. Having them in the same paragraph, especially one right after the other, is a little hard to read and improper.

Tooooooo much information for the question asked. And I think some of that would be classified.

Just got an idea and I'm going to use the bonus chapter to explain the tech of this story.

Just finished the overhaul of Bonus; Somewhere in the Pentagon:derpytongue2:. Went from 77 words to 304. ENJOY:pinkiehappy:

The only qualm I have with the mention of nuclear weapons, is that the destructive power isn't limited to just entire cities; the potential output of these weapons is typically only limited to the method of detonation ("pure fission" bombs typically possess inferior destructive power compared to modern "thermonuclear warheads", or nukes that start with a fission chain reaction, then utilize that "jump-start" energy to initiate a fusion reaction (typically fuses two hydrogen atoms together into the more dense helium, as opposed to splitting an atom into less dense products), which significantly boosts total destructive output), the quality of the bomb fuel (typically weapons-grade uranium or plutonium), and, most importantly, the quantity of the fuel being used.

I...I have no words for this. If I had to, I guess I would say that it was, "okay?"
The main issue with it is that you progressed everything a little too fast. The mane encounter could have easily propped up another chapter. (Yes, that was a pun) Another thing to remember is that, if you can't figure out how a first encounter would occur realistically, try to think of what you would do if a species that you had no prior knowledge of suddenly started asking questions about your capabilities and technology. Then, and only then, can you unlock your true nature and save humanity from the Betty Crocker invasion.

You need to work on your pacing. I kind of just blank out when I'm reading.

Also the number 2 should be spelled out.

Good start, but defiantly could use some touching up. If you need a pre-reader, I can help.

4528034 actually the British 6th Airborne took Pegasus Bridge. The 101st and 82nd took Saint-Mere-Église and Caren-tan but still, they lead the way

Technically speaking, Rangers have led the way since BEFORE they were actually formed. Major Robert Rogers led a rapidly deployable light infantry force tasked mainly with reconnaissance as well as conducting special operations against distant targets during the French and Indian War, a force known as "Rogers' Rangers."

I'm sorry but this was resolved too quickly:facehoof:
maybe if you put a bit more detail that the US solders are from a different world or have them a bit more weary of the fact that they are surrounded by talking magical ponies! :flutterrage:

I do believe its North ALANTIC not american.

5305355 if you think about it, realistically they would probably be yelling "wtf?" In their minds but also need to stay professional in any situation (even in the case of talking Technicolor ponies)

5433898 maybe, but it wouldn't hurt if we could see at lest the biggest questions.
Like " what, is a human?" Or " how can you do magic?", I'm just saying.

Ok, from U.S. to Equestrian that quickly.:derpyderp1:
Your sure that is how our military works? Great work on the technology though.:scootangel:

I like it, I'd love to see more of this in the future.

Hey welcome back. So is this a prelude to talking about morality of situations we were in such as the only time we used nukes in war?

5443773 Either they went rouge and the magic of friendship was too much for trained killers to handle... or a training exercise

5443922 I'd say a training excercise, but just in case... -leans over to radio- "1-2, this 1-1, I need a tactical air strike on a Canterlot, how copy?"

"1-1, this is 2-2, solid copy, WILCO, out."

Honor? Honor is the dead man's virtue

Anyone in this day and age who thinks it's proper to fight a war with manners (not including the Geneva Conventions) needs to get either military experience or their head examined.
