4607610 Lightning is the traditional way of getting ponies to Reality(buck it) and also the easiest.
I break the usual customs and left the pony its original age, but I'm also going to introduce something YOU have probably never seen before
A book that seems to have a personality? You're right. (Closest I've seen is Bob the Skull from the 'Dresden Files.' Yes, he is a skull; a talking, sarcastic, lecherous skull [It's complicated, but hilarious] ) I've got theories how this will go, but I'll keep them to myself (No sense spoiling the fun for everyone else.
Besides, just because I know the destination, doesn't mean I can't enjoy the journey.

That was nice (and for the record, speaking as someone who has had several dogs, the belly rub scene was charming)
It has been a while since I've read a story with such surprising character development. Especially a human in Equestria one.
Sure, this story may not have started out as the most original opening, but not only is the writing fairly smooth. I love how in-character you kept Twilight. This is a story that blends her scientific curiosity and her cuteness together, very well.
The main character, at first, kinda sounds like every tragic born brony, who loves the show, but has no family or friends to speak of. But as the story goes on, he shows a level normality you don't really expect from the brony community. Quiet, simple and the daily interactions between him and Twilight make this story a lovely thing to read.
You've also done a damn fine job of slowly developing the relationship between the two. A good romance can only be built with time.
The mystery book was also a good hook to draw a reader in. I am curious as to its true purpose, and why it even exists?
Hopefully that mystery can be solved. . . perhaps in Equestria?
Anyway, this story has a earned a thumbs up for me. So kudos to you.

is she a pony or a small anthro? It is a bit confusing for me. After i had read the next chapter it lookes like she would be a Pony.
The story seems to be really good, but right now i only hope for it to have a good end for both of them in the end.
I hate that type of story, which separates two lovers, or friends forever.
I hope the Book has a travel-spell or something like that, or he can go to Equestria.
I don´t know why everything that Twilight is doing, has to be purple, if i remember it right, but nearly everything feels right.
It is good to see, that he has some kind of Magic, even if it is only to help somepony.
He could be something like a pony doctor later, i guess only he would be able to use the Book now.
nice chapter, it was better than i first thought, as i read through it, in the end it worked pretty well. So i hope that makes some sense, but i liked the lovestruck silly Filly Twilight in the end.
I wanted to say, if the story only takes place in the Human world, you could maybe make a sequel for him, and her in Equestria.
