Hoarfrost
Failure. Arctic Wolf. Hero. Precursor.
As a young colt, Hoarfrost never could have imagined he would be anything but the first of these four things, being branded as the runt of his village, failing the memory of his ancestors, even failing in getting his Cutie Mark at the normal age. Fate however has a way of changing your perspective on events, and little stones can soon become landslides, the consequences of the smallest actions having the furthest reaching repercussions.
As an Arctic Wolf, it is his duty to help safeguard the growing empire of Equestria from all threats, be they Diamond Dogs, Minotaur's or anything else that threatens his kin. All threats must fall before the Arctic Wolves. No exceptions
This story is a side story to The God Empress of Ponykind by iowaforever. Go check it out, or I doubt this will make sense, plus the fact it's just awesome in general.

BTW2. What's the time frame of this story? By the mentioning of not knowing Empress, and the fact that this Wolf Lord remembers first legion recruitment; I assume that they don't live as long as Astartes; is it means that it's before Luna's Heresy?

Two, this is before the heresy, but after the first legions obviously. There was never a time frame between their formation and the heresy, so it should fit in nicely.

Fight was excellent, but it would be cool if he could tame one, or maybe, turned out, that the old one was with some pup. Hoarfrost could take him to Aesir, and make him his battle companion. That would be so awesome!

And Bardorf is so small and fuzzy (for now)! I have a small spot for small and fuzzy creatures, so I will look forward to where he ends up.
Just two minor corrections:
Mark II armor is "Teutonic" pattern, not "Crusade". I haven't made this official, but "Crusade" pattern armor is Mark IV, and showed up after the Lunar Heresy
Celestia is the only Empress. Luna is her Warmistress
