Well, that was probably the last of Quill and Spike's demons off their chests. Veil has managed to get to know Spike and gave both him and Cyclone the green light more or less. Spike bit be disappointed later on with the kind of weapon he gets later on with his whole knight mentallity, but he will make due. Though I have a few suggestion on his water base powers if your interested, just PM me. Though I still want to know what was up with Rarity's reaction earlier.

...Well, my personal opinion is that Rarity has realized how shamefully bad that she acted and did to Spike. Honestly, I really think that neglect and indifference is more damaging than just telling him that she doesn't like him the way that he wishes she would see him as more than just a friend (or acquaintance). Telling him just straight up something like "I appreciate that you like me, but I'm sorry, I cannot reciprorate your feelings" sucks. It's painful, both to the guy that's been rejected and the girl that said 'no' to him.
But pain like most others in life is necessary and vital. But it's also an absolute. It's closure. Either we can proceed, or move on, and in this case, now the rejected party can move on. Ultimately it's the best thing for both of them: for the rejected party, he/she can reflect and learn the experiences and learn the mistakes and other things from it, or it allows him/her to see why they looked at that in the first place, and see that it was immature. To the spurned individual, the rejections are saying 'that isn't what you really need'. And the same thing is happening to the party where they did the refusal: It is a realization that it wasn't what it was looking for. If could be something like just wanting a little seasoning, or as complex as that they have found love for someone else. Hell, if could even be fear---fear of losing something very precious.
But, and it seems like it to me at least, but it's a bit of trial and error. We have these temporary relationships, and half the time we honestly don't even know how we react to things. But we take thing from hook-up, attraction, and break up so that we know exactly know who we need, and more times than not, who we need is nothing close to who we want. But we will thank ourselves for it, whether it's the next minute or the next year, when we finally find the one that is supposed to be the soulmate.
And it comes back to Spike and Rarity. Thing is that I sincerely believe that Rarity may have a change of heart. Maybe it's just bullshit, something to just reel him back. But considering everything that happened, it is impossible to even see a potential friendship. Bluntly put, she lost out on a potentially beautiful thing. Rarity may ultimately see in the future that Spike may have be the ideal companion for her, even if she was willing to let him grow a bit, but that will be a regret that she will be wearing for the rest of her life, just like Spike will be wearing that for the rest of his.
But this story is about the inhabitants of High Moon, including Spike. Rarity will find her significant other (more than like a stallion), but honestly I hope that she will learn her experience with how she treated Spike so that she doesn't make the same mistakes and pitfalls when love does eventually call for her again. Spike is learning that while in High Moon, and I see that Cyclone may be the same way. Spike's finally discovered the reason for doing this---to be able to protect and take care of things he loved, Guess what? Cyclone is that reason.
Now that's closure.
5147861 You raise a lot of good points. No matter what being regected outright will hurt, either to one's heart and feels or just their pride or ego. But it is better set things striaght from the get go rather than wait things out. In situations like those it usually tends to snowball out of control. Rarity and Spike's situation is the perfect example. But it is done and nothing can change that. Spike has come to realize and face his mistakes and is both learning from them and trying to move on. If your guess is right Rarity is no realizing her own mistakes. Now she has to both face them and learn from them. Which probably won't be easy for her. But with most of the Elements more on the ball they should be able to help her at least a little bit.
