the only time i have never equstioned guns in an mlp fiction was in Starlight over Detrot. and that is because the guns have a magical nature and they had to develop something to fight against organized dragon armies, and the guns have a highly magical background; even the shotguns have a tendency to become 'vindictive' over mistreatment. that and the author developed that the guns are easily stoped by magic anyway, if the right magic is used, and the guns use a complex harness.
