Vinyl brings home a Godzilla movie, and watches it with Octavia. However, they both have very different takes on the film.

I get the honor of the first like! Woohoo! :yay:

This was pretty good! Bask in the glory of liked-ness!

-grins- Ummm, didn't you just use mostly Big G vs MechaG?

You are indeed honored! I am a beloved author with thousands upon thousands of fans who flock to my stories the second they are released! You are honored to be lucky enough to give the first like! :trollestia:

:derpyderp2::derpyderp1::derpytongue2:

No hablo ingles. Gomenasai.

3614703 uh huh...still..props for the references..

Nice job with this one! That was a very good read, though it hits a little close to home in some places... most noticeably, I've had to explain similar concepts to my nephews about times before they had CGI and how such things were considered state of the art 30+ years ago :twilightblush:

And yes, the new Godzilla trailer looks awesome. :rainbowdetermined2:

This. Was. Awesome.

I particularly love the interplay between characters, and the, dare I say, stereotypical viewers regarding old Godzilla movies, and how you keep their views on the movie fitting with fanon characteristics, while expressing the double-sided interpretations of "Awesome monsters break shit!" and "Deep, meaningful message" through Vinyl and Octavia.

It was pretty good.

Heehee. I'm just picking at ya. :twilightsheepish:

Yeah, I'm sure there was MechaG references running around in my head somewhere, but I was also thinking about the Gigan movie and Megalon. And honestly, I can't quite remember all the plots from the Showa Series. It's been a while since I've seen them, they get mixed up in there. :rainbowhuh:

3614955

Haha, thanks. I actually watched a documentary this year on the history of the Godzilla visual effects, and they had a lot of behind the scenes for the Biolante movie. It made me appreciate the effort they put into the movies a lot more.

And that trailer!? OMG :rainbowkiss: So awesome!:rainbowkiss:

Thanks! You have indeed hit the nail on the head! But now that you've figured out my secrets, I'll have to go into hiding.

I'll wear this mustache! :moustache:

I love the Godzilla series, and I'm not even joking when I say that Godzilla vs. Destoroyah is still one of my favorite movies of all time. To me, it was never about the special effects (in fact, I think the rubber suit costume makes Godzilla look better), the storyline, and sometimes not even the action. It was about seeing this badass, unstoppable force of nature just take on everything humanity and otherwise threw at him, and still get out on top. And during the 90's series, I was fascinated by how surprisingly human this monster was, being able to care for his adopted son as if he loved him, later cry over his death as if he was feeling genuine sorrow, and finally completely wreck his killer in combat as if his raw rage gave him power beyond belief (said enemy was even the the literal embodiment of the only weapon in history to have ever killed a Godzilla before). For a ten year old kid like I was back then, it was the most epic line of movies I could've ever dreamed to watch, and it still gives me goosebumps to watch today. :pinkiesad2:

...Yeah, in other words, I'm with Vinyl on this one. Just let all the technical critiques slide and enjoy the movies for what they were made for. Too bad most people are like Octavia nowadays and can never see them in the same way I do. :fluttercry:

3617081

Yeah, Vinyl pretty much voiced my personal view on the series as well. I usually kinda nitpick stuff like Octavia when I'm watching other movies whenever there is a bad line of dialogue, or a really stupid plot, or overly ridiculous CGI, etc. But I can't do that to the Godzilla films. They just meant too much to my childhood. I can even forgive those wacky campy films they made (I'm sure you know the ones :raritywink: )

Great story! And good job getting on the popular stories list.

3618689

Thanks! Your compliments are much appreciated!

But I don't think I deserve them. Surely I didn't do anything to earn your praise... or did I? Surely I did. ...or maybe I didn't... Wait a minute.... who am I !?!?!? :pinkiegasp:

3621127 you earned them, I promise

PS you are generalsnaz

The cover picture is so cute!:rainbowkiss:

3624078

Thanks! I drawed it mahself! :derpytongue2:

3623322

Awwww!

And thanks for the clarification! I was beginning to get confused! :rainbowhuh:

I am speechless. In a good way, of course! (Please tell me this isn't what the actual movie looked like.:rainbowderp:)

3644065

The new Godzilla movie? No, I just made up a movie based on the style of the franchise in the 70s for this story. The new movie that's coming out next year was done by an American studio, so it'll be using the full force of Hollywood CGI. It's gonna be so awesome! :rainbowkiss:

3645857 The trailer itself looks better than the last American Godzilla movie! Toho actually came and said that that thing wasn't an actual Godzilla and then Godzilla killed it in Final Wars. (You probably know all of this already, but still!) This new movie looks much more promising! The old Godzilla formula with Hollywood grade graphics and an extra touch of horror/suspense! SOO excited!:rainbowkiss:

I could see Vinyl liking Godzilla! It fits with her personality. And Tavi is so critical of it. X3

ATTENTION ATTENTION ALL FANS OF THE KING ATTENTION I JUST CAME BACK FROM GODZILLA (2014)...IT WAS A MASTERPIECE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME WORK OF CINEMATIC GENIUS I IMPLORE ALL THOSE WHO KNOW THE GAME OF HIS EXCELLENCY GODZILLA TO SEE IT IMMEDIATELY

:rainbowlaugh: I could picture all this happening in an actual episode, it's so hilarious, especially Vinyl.

And yes, I'm going to see the new Godzilla movie this week! It's gonna be SO AWESOME! :rainbowkiss:

oh mah gawd OCTAVIA JUST ENJOY THE FRICKEN MOVIE, STOP INTERRUPTING, AND JUST EAT SOME DANG POPCORN!!!!!!!!! :flutterrage:

and at the end, Octavia, you somehow managed to make Godzilla sound like some boring Sherlock Holmes thing that I wouldn't waste a second watching. I don't know how, or even believe it's possible to make Godzilla sound boring, but somehow you managed to break many more physics than Pinkie Pie has broken in her entire life by making an awesome kaiju seem boring and lame! How?!

Is it even possible for a cellist to break more physics than Pinkie has broken in her entire life? I didn't think so, but it seems as if that you have Octavia.

Octaiva, we all love you, but if you don't shut up right now...

Totally reminds me of my best friend...

I am both of these people.
