I shall watch this story. I love some.of your other storys and wish to see this one play out

This looks like it is going to be a really good story keep it going

Coolio, no relation to any of the other 'verses you write I presume? I'll watch regardless, at the very least until the reveal when/if it happens.

Mirror pool clones of Tia and Lulu? I fear for Equestria :pinkiehappy:

I have to wonder why they don't just tell Twilight and Fluttershy who they are (privately of course) and ask the two of them to keep it a secret?

Nice setup.
Interested in seeing where this goes, lots of possibilities.

Hmm...
Sunbeam and Moonbeam eh? I think that dis is gon 2 be gud:raritywink:

Twilight is pretty sharp; I'm betting she figures out "Sunbeam" and "Moonbeam" eventually.

Yay! I love Twilestia!

“I will have to remember to write mother a thank you letter for showing us that little trick, though I still can’t believe she used it.”

...
...
Oh Man! This is some serious mind altering stuff here! :pinkiehappy:
This adds Whole New Dimensions to the phrase Pinkie is just being Pinkie ...

I'm sure that eventually Twilight and Fluttershy will find out who they are. When that happens, they are going to feel really betrayed. Celestia and Luna will have a lot of apologizing to do.

3541230 I thought that too, but when you consider pony names are often based on their talents and that siblings are sometimes named similarly to each other, I'm not sure she'd see it. Of course I'm assuming that Sunbeam and Moonbeam are sisters based on the fact that they are living together, it would be the simplest cover story.

Agreed. I really hope that isn't downplayed.

Talents based on the sun and moon would be pretty rare to begin with, and not trivially explained. (Moonbeam could be passed off as being a night owl, which would lead to some amusing conversations about how Luna would probably love to meet her, but how exactly do you explain Sunbeam?) A pair of siblings with talents based on the sun and moon would be even more unusual. Put that together with Twilight's intelligence and reasoning, and it would almost make more sense for her to figure it out almost immediately. ( "Seriously? 'Sunbeam' and 'Moonbeam'? You couldn't come up with something less transparent? You're lucky the whole town hasn't caught on." :facehoof:) Fluttershy shouldn't have much trouble either. ("Oh, ah, we kinda have, if that's OK with you?" :fluttershysad:) (Why is there no fluttersmile emote?)

And for that matter, Equestria would have to have never seen the King Incognito trope before in fiction, which seems unlikely given the frequency of fiction involving the princesses.

It'd be rather funny if Twilight had known since very early on that her friend Sunbeam was Celestia, and just never said anything about it, either because she figured "Sunbeam" knew she knew, or because she enjoyed playing along.

3543644 Yeah I see what you're saying. On the other hand, their names may have nothing to do with their talests. Take Twilight for example. What does that time of day have to do with magic? If they're sisters in their cover story they could explain it away as their parents being whimsical or something. It would be hilarious if Twilight already knew about her old friend Sunbeam being Celestia. She probably thought it was Celestia's attempt at giving her a study buddy or something. So when Sunbeam turns up in Ponyville she'll be really confused.

3543720
Oh, sure, the names don't have to be talent-related, but anyone who hears "Sunbeam" and "Moonbeam" in the same sentence is going to think of Celestia and Luna; the cultural association is just too strong.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking.

There alicorns, so they have the ability to create better clones then Pinkie Pie's, and as to the not telling Twilight and Fluttershy the truth about who they are, they have done so in the past with other ponies before, and it didn't end well, so they would rather play it safe and let the two ponies fall in love with them the normal way, rather then have their two intended feel obligated to be in a relationship with them.

3542327
Are you saying what I think your saying?

3543733>>3543720
You both have brought up some very good points about all this, and I am confident that I will be able to come up with legitimate reasons why know one has ever connected the dots as to who they really are. Also yes, they will find out eventually, and no it wont be downplayed, especially not where Twilight is concerned. One thing I do want to reassure you about is that Twilight has seen Sunbeam in the same room with Celesita, for Sunbeam is supposed to be another student of hers along with Twilight, which makes her disguise a lot more credible.

Also yes, there names relate to there talents in a way, Sunbeam is really good at using the sunlight as a kind of magic amplifier, though it has the potential to temporarily "burn out" her horn if she does it to much. As for Moonbeam....I haven't really figured out what her talent is going to be yet.

and as to the fact Twilight's name does not associate with her talent, haven't you ever heard the phrase "Magic Hour" before?

3544440 Curious, did Celestia create an illusion version of Sunbeam so she could be seen in the same place? Moonbeam's ability could be something to do with astronomy, maybe? Just a thought. Yes, I have heard of the 'magic hour' but there is no suggestion in the show that magic works any better that time of night or anything like that. The point I was making was that names don't have to do with special talents. Take Pinkie for example, her real name is Pinkamena, not exactly a talent name huh?

Ok, I'll be watching this story...

OK, that's pretty convincing; I can buy that Twilight wouldn't catch on if she'd met Sunbeam in Celestia's presence a few times. Mirror pool or magical manifestation?

Your suggestion for "Sunbeam"'s talent is unusual but workable, and gives Celestia a reasonable excuse for any unusual aspects of her magic as a unicorn. That also provides a convincing argument for why Sunbeam would be Celestia's student: naturally she's quite interested in a pony who harnesses the power of the sun. (To be appropriately thematic, presumably "Sunbeam" should have weaker magic at night.)

As for "Moonbeam", you could be blatant about it and have her have moon-based magic that works better at night, or you could make her an astronomer, or a night owl, or simply a pony with a very dark-colored speckled coat.

3544277
I am not totally sure .... I think that Celestia and Luna both just admitted that Pinkie Pie was their MOM! :pinkiehappy:
:applejackconfused:

3544882
Seeing as how Moonbeam is a pegasus and not a unicorn, her having a magic based talent would be problematic. She could possibly be a astronomer, but I have not decided yet.

As to Sunbeam and Celestia being in the same room, it was made possible through magical manifestation, which is harder to maintain then using the mirror pool to create a copy.

3545157
Ah; you hadn't described either Sunbeam or Moonbeam yet in the story, and I'd assumed unicorns since you mentioned Sunbeam was, but yeah, a pegasus would be harder to explain. (Looking again, I do see that you mentioned Luna flying off after having transformed, so that's pretty conclusive.) Perhaps she just enjoys night flights by the light of the moon, and has absurdly good night vision?

3545180
Possibly, but...you know what I just thought of a good talent for her, but I'll get to it next chapter.

Also I did describe Moonbeam as a pegasus, if only vaguely, as she flew in the direction of Fluttershy's cottage.

3544273

Alicorns they may be, but the mirror pool (in cannon anyway) is the device which creates the clones, not the pony stepping into it (in my opinion, at least - I gather you think Pinkie created her clones herself somehow?)

This would be a fun story.

Dude,I would do the same thing what Luna did to that
picture of FlutterShy,but with fireworks!!!:yay:

But, in all in all I'm really excited for the big revel
of Sunbeam and Moonbeam.:trollestia:

earth ponies rule!!!!:ajsmug::eeyup:

3545288
I always had a theory that if a unicorn, or better yet an alicorn could tap into the magic of the Mirror Pool, they might be able to create a better copy then the ones produced by Pinkie Pie.

3545656

If an alicorn could tap into the magic of the mirror pool, it would seem to me that they wouldn't actually need he mirror pool because they could make the clones themselves. :rainbowhuh:

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this. The only reason I thought this mattered was because I thought the poorly-created clones would be the source of comedy.

I just had a thought actually... Tia and Lulu are in love with Twilight and Fluttershy right? Won't their clones be in love with them too? :trollestia:

3545773
More will be explained about the clones later, but there is a reason why the princesses used the mirror pool instead of making them from scratch with their own magic.

can't wait for the next update, bro. I'm really curious. :derpyderp2:

3544949

*stares* That is absurd, silly and implausible. So why is the idea so tantalizing? Or so damn funy?!:rainbowlaugh:

i know i commented on this different before with the same worlds and i am sorry to bug you i was just wondering if by any chance you know when you might post next chapter :fluttershysad: i understand that life can get in the way and i don't want to rash you or anything i just asking if you don't know that is okay and take your time on making a grate chapter:fluttercry:
