TheTobacconist

...can I even call myself this if I quit smoking years ago?

T

Blueblood has escaped from prison, and built up a very sizable following. Well, it would be a sizable following, but some pony has a vendetta against him. His thugs get attacked left and right, and all signs indicate that the killer wants him dead most of all.

Vinyl Scratch is worried about Octavia. She hasn't been the same since the incident.

Fancy Pants is doing his best to wash his hooves of all involvement he had ever had with Blueblood. His involvement was unintentional, but many ponies have suffered because of it. In particular, he is worried about the physical and mental health of Octavia, who seems to have suffered the most from Blueblood's past endeavors.

What? A story created by TheTobacconist not a oneshot. I might have to stick for this and plus it's interesting.

Seriously, I can't wait to see where this goes.

Other than the obvious, I mean. The Prince is not one to be trifled with, and he always gets what he wants.

Also:

Words: you haven't touched your big violin

Thoughts: Octavia was not a business pony, she was a musician. She should be playing her cello, and talking about her favorite composers.

Vinyl was clearly trying to get Octavia to defend something she used to be passionate about in an attempt to get her to open up.

Or, y'know, she was just rustling her jimmies. Both are possible.

I like your observation on 'big violin' and 'cello'. Both answers are technically correct.

Great story!

Blueblood you scare me

"Yes, Prince," Heavlift trotted in place. He was quite focused on his morning exercise.

Five minutes until there time was up. Five minutes until he could make plans for some new furniture.

Interesting story so far. Blueblood continues to be terrifying, of course. I'm not sure he's right about the identity of the armor. I thought maybe it was Vinyl at first, but the way Fleur reacted when Fancy tried to talk about it makes me wonder if it's her, actually.

Thanks for pointing out the errors.
I won't say who the armor is, but I will do my best to make the reveal as interesting as possible.

3476350
You're welcome. And of course not, that would take the fun out of guessing.

It can't be Octavia, given how she seems to feel about the armor. I doubt it's Fancy, considering he never saw it. Vinyl may or may not be able to afford the replica, or know what it looks like, but she did have the bruise. Fleur, on the other hand, is the one who found his pets in the first place, so my money's on her, especially with the bit about how he had "left her no choice" about interrupting him.

I'm assuming it's one of the four, of course.

As someone who has followed this series since its inception, I think all signs point to the Armor being Hayseed Turniptruck.

'I ain't the hero Canterlot needs. Reckon I'm the hero Canterlot deserves.'

Of course. How did I not see it before? All of the signs point to him because none of them do. No one would suspect the window-washer.

It's genius.

Unless it's Screwball.

I like the unorthodox, non-useless therapist. Not a whole lot of that in fiction.

"Daisy is fine," The doctor informed her, and put on her reading glasses.

A wordless stare was often all it took to [oust a lie.

What if she's not hallucinating when she hears the armor? Or at least, not all the time? I'm not sure. Vinyl's looking slightly better for the role of the armor. Although, I'm still thinking it's Fleur.

The red herrings... they're everywhere.

And yeah, the non-useless therapist is an interesting change. With all the doilies and crap, you had me expecting somepony far less helpful.

3480558
I was trying to subvert that. Doctor Daisy is a good therapist who uses a calculated level of unprofessionalism to be better at her profession.

it's all coming together. things are really starting to ramp up.

I know you have something big planned.

And next chapter you will be seeing the Armor again.

3499794
Agreed. Getting back at Blueblood in little ways.

I think blood would have been better

Nice chapter tho

Yes, Vinyl might have named it something like that. But this is Octavia, she is a gentle soul. Maybe.

3500210 touché

Now I want a ferret named blood

This story deserves more attention it's awesome:rainbowkiss:

Thank you very much, Manes. Can you think of any groups to add it to?

3509687
Well Circle of Friends,Follow Me! Writing Gold and The writer's group could work.

Wow, I fell behind. Better late than never, I guess.

Well, things continue to get interesting. Fleur is looking better than even for the armor... which, of course, means she probably isn't. Doesn't mean I'm not still holding out hope, though. Vinyl makes some sense, but given the events of "Lights Out," I think I'm going to rule her out for lack of the fitness and skill to pull that off... unless she's also former ESS or similar. Doubt it, though. This also puts Tavi out of the running, and Fancy, too... directly. Perhaps he paid a bit more attention in magic class than his dear cousin.

In any case, things continue to shape up in a manner worthy of many... dramatic... ellipses.

Is there any chance we'll get to hear the recorded trial? Seems like it would be interesting.

And, oh, Tavi's account of her captivity. I actually think it did a better job of it than "Play For Me," but that's just me.

Oh, and one more thing: I found some typos and other issues in these last few chapters, more than I think I ought to list here. If you'd like, I could PM them to you.

3620067
Thank you very much. I would like a PM.

And yes, I'll be including the recording of the trial.

Gonna continue this? It's really good

I’m sad that this will never be finished.
