This a pretty cool idea, but too long winded.
Fun fact: In real life space programs, a lot of astronauts are religious. Yuri Gagarin was an Orthodox Christian, Neil Armstrong was pretty traditional in his beliefs, and Edgar Mitchell was a New Ager.
This isn't meant as a criticism, just wanted to point that out there.
