I liked this story. I really felt bad for Celestia as well as Luna and AppleJack.

Couple of things though:
1. Why is Luna so hostile to AppleJack? She was simply agreeing with Celestia from how I read it. I would think that the extended life would give them time to bond as friends, or at least be more civil. Not to mention AppleJack is an old mare who lost all of her family and friends due to her extended life. Therefore AppleJack and Luna have that in common. I didn't see the reason Luna had to scold her at all.
2. This is small, but the paragraphs could be indented to make it easier on the reader. Though they may not be, they *look* as though they are and that kinda bothered me.

Again, this story was great and I would like to see more in the future.

Luna has definitely adjusted most of the way, but she is still very traditional. She sees things through an ancient light, and often forgets modern etiquette. This includes the fact that common ponies need not be directly addressed to speak to royalty.
