Thanks for the kind words and thanks for reading
I felt this one dragged a little bit. The next one shouldn't take as long to come out.
It's astounding how so much can come from but one event. One simple life event that impacts so many.
What really makes this story work is it all is very believable. The emotions, lack of sleep, concern, etc. all pull together to show how many lives are influenced as the result of one's.
As I had mentioned, in likely too much detail before, it is always important to think of others after such catastrophic events. Being there to comfort is so paramount.
Just like Dash, I know I evolved as a result of my life situations. Life has a way of giving us choices of either to go the hard and rewarding road, the simple and non-productive road, or sit at the road and do nothing. You've done well in illustrating Dash in taking that road that is difficult to tread. She has come by it quite genuinely. Not rushed. She wants to live up to what she's always made of herself. Especially to Scootaloo. She knows she has to stay strong even if she truly isn't as strong herself.
I know I've really downplayed going totally blind to my son. I never let on that I'm miserable. I'll more go on to get him talking about things so I can use my imagination to figure the rest out. He does not need to ever imagine the depths of sorrow I have knowing I'll never see his face again. That I'll never be able to watch him grow. However I will be there and showing how, even if I run into signs or accidentally veer into streets, I'm alive and I love him. More importantly, like you did for Dash to Scoots, that nothing will take away from the father he has loved. I'm the same me... only blinder. :)
