After all those injuries, I think we know why his name is Punctured Armor. Honestly, I want to see a sequel where Celestia and Pen go out. Their characters meshed well and he is just plain funny - especially when he gets hurt in comedic ways.

I'm really sorry, but this story just didn't do it for me. The whole "hapless guy gets beaten to hell and back" thing ("slapstick", I think it's called?) isn't very...well, funny. Maybe it's because I feel it's been overdone, but I'd like to think that Pen would be maybe a little more angry, or at the very least, disgruntled. But, no he isn't, because he's simply that nice a guy.

You're right, it is slapstick; and yes, it is a little overdone. The story is basically a re-tooling of a popular trope. I wanted to try my hand at an inoffensive, comedic one-shot, and having Pen be such a nice guy was the best way to go about doing that.
It's also nice writing for a character that isn't always grumpy, for a change.

Yup. Even though it had absolutely nothing to do with aliens and pot-apocalyptic wastelands.
This is not a well-written fic. It is, however, heartwarming and funny and cute. And, I think the fact that I enjoyed it far outweighs the technical flaws.
