The Collab Cage

E

A rainy day can put a damper on anypony's spirits, but occasionally it instead offers new opportunities, even if those are not always expected or wanted.

Forced to cancel plans or shelter hurriedly or even changing somepony's attitude--the power of pegasi precipitation can bring out the best and the worst.

For this collab, each author was simply tasked with writing a story involving a rainy day. Simple showers or terrible storms, as long as the story included rain, it was acceptable. A nice, simple exercise to give the authors a lot of freedom to explore.

In case you were wondering: "Petrichor: The distinctive scent which accompanies the first rain after a long warm dry spell." Thanks, Wiktionary!

wow that was well dark in a sense.:pinkiesad2: at least there's a shipping tag for this not that it matters with how depressing this chapter is.:fluttercry:

these endings remind of ME3 ending when the old man talked to the little boy..

I know, right?! I was like...dude, it's a good thing that first one starts off so happy, because Lapison's is DARK.

:yay:! It's finally here!:pinkiegasp:

The title to the last one was more of a joke title:twilightsheepish:
You can just call it "Big Mac's Rainy Day" for short.

2536995 I had guessed but I love confirmation n_n Also the name is Korben :twistnerd:

Interesting. I confess the only thing that bugged me was the idea that Luna and Celestia could be overruled. They are literal deities and have been fairly shown to cow everyone they meet. The idea of them letting this happen felt really off.

Either way a beautiful little vignette I'd love to see expanded.

*Grins* Very sweet and appealing. I love how you write Rose as a gentle soul but with a beautifully powerful voice it sounds like.:pinkiehappy:

Dude, you're freaking EVIL. Brilliant and a fantastic writer, but freaking EVIL:pinkiegasp: *Grumbles*:derpytongue2:

"Korben" isn't pony punny enough!

> "A cob is a small horse, usually of a stout build, with strong bones, large joints, and steady disposition"

Hence "Cobin".

I actually had a name ready for Leeloo, but I never ended up needing it. "Leelope", with "Lope" meaning: "to cause (a horse) to canter with a long easy stride or (of a horse) to canter in this manner"

Love the reference to The Fifth Element, it's one of my favorite sci-fi movies. Personally, I love Ruby Rhod, it's one of the best ways Chris Tucker's manic energy has been used (plus radio dj's tend to be annoying, so that's another way it worked). I would say my only critique here is that you never use the full name Rainbow Dash. I know she gets called by just Rainbow or Dash or Dashie, but it just seems odd having her not once be called by full name or anything other than Rainbow. Still a good story.

Wind Whistler doesn't sound too bad of a nickname to me. Heck, it sounds like it could be an actual name for a pony on MLP. Good story either way.

I've always enjoyed fics focusing on differences between the three pony races and the possible friction that could cause. Somehow the term "mud pony" became part of the lexicon and anyone who hears it can easily figure out what it means. And there isn't much the earth ponies could do about it if something like this actually happened.
