Well, it's been a loooooong time. I've made many promises during that time, one of them being that I would write a romantic story featuring Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Another was that I would post this before December, so I had no other choice to put this up now.
Yes, this is romantic (I guess...) and not sad. This will be three chapters long (not going to change that) and the next chapters shall be published when I just find the time to edit the second and write the third.

Oooooo, romance ey? I like it! Though you should try and show a little bit more and tell a little less, if you look at your paragraphs they're mostly two lines long. With some more showing you could increase that to four and show the scenes a little bit more. I do have the same problem myself, so we both should really work on that :3

I like it, and it seems that many others do too, but I'm getting the feeling you don't...
You're other stories are practically flawless and have great flow and word choice, this one does not have that.
I think you might be coming out of your comfort zone a bit too much. The story is good, but there are some lazy mistakes and repetitive words. You don't seem to be taking as much time with this story as you did your others. Try slowing down and trying to get into the story.
I realize you're not into romance, at least not writing it, but you're not bad at it, you just need to give it as much attention as you did your precious stories.
I apologize if my criticism seems harsh, I'm not trying to be, I just want you to like your writing as much as your readers do.
Please take this into consideration for chapters 2 and 3, don't rush them out to us, take your time and make them as good as your sad stories. If it would help, I suggest reading some sad romances, like A Rainbow in the Dark by FeignedSincerity. It may help you to incorporate what you are good at already with what you are trying out.

Yes, I was pretty much waiting for someone to note me about this. Yes, I know that this is nowhere near the level of writing I am capable of.
There are several things I think that might cause this.
First off, I'd like to mention, once again, the cursed Windows 8 taking up loads of time and still failing on me. I haven't been able to write as much and thinking of how to install it so it actually works is also taking up some brain capacity.
Secondly, I have been feeling a bit dumb lately. It's been quite a task for me to get an idea and put it on the paper, even though my paper is in a virtual format. But on the other hand, I'm writing comments and replies like this. Be cursed you ironic world
And I guess that the third thing is the fact that I'm not the most romantic person there is. If I'd get to choose whether if I would go on a date with some random girl or grab a shotgun and go fight in a zombie apocalypse, I'd pick the apocalypse with only a couple of seconds of thinking, even less if there would be a chance of it being a sad apocalypse. I have been writing/planning two other stories lately and I have been able to write those pretty well (I guess). First is dark and gore, the other is a sad one-shot.
But once it's started, there is no way to abort the mission. I chose this path and I'm going to walk till the very end.
And you shall not worry, that's nowhere near harsh in my opinion.
I will try my best to get some time in my hands and actually think about the thing I'm writing instead of just letting my hands do the typing and keep my brains thinking of the new story.

1. No offense, but Windows 8 is horrible... My friend has it and he recommends Windows 7 still.
2. Don't blame you, just the seasons I guess. I am lazy during the summers but energetic during winter.

Yes, I've heard that from many people. That's why I'm trying to dual boot it with my old Windows 7 so I can go back when necessary. But as you might have noticed, Microsoft sure isn't making it easy for us who have a HP laptop...
Usually I'm pretty creative during winter, but that's probably linked to the amazing scenery that takes over during the darkest of times and just puts your imagination running, but right now all I can see is snow and more is coming fast. I can't even go outside to take the trash without getting covered in the powder-like snow accompanied with the freezing wind making the temperature feel closer to -25 degrees Celsius...

Aaaand here we go, chapter two is up after some pretty hard re-writing. The first version of this didn't quite fit the ending I have planned, and I just plain didn't find it good enough, so I decided to do something about it.
The next chapter, which will be the finale, will unfortunately take some more time. I'm going to have a knee endoscopy next week and I have only a little time to write before it. I currently don't exactly know how long I have to stay at the hospital, but as it's just an endoscopy, it should not be too long. But anyways, chapter three arriving before, let's say, 15th day is pretty unlikely. I'm sorry about this, if you want to blame someone, blame my knee for being in such a bad condition

Greetings! Three comments on this.
First of all, you need to decide if AJ says "I" as "I" or "ah." If you keep switching it can get confusing.
Second, "infamous" means "well known for some bad quality or deed." I'm not sure if that fits Granny meeting Celestia. Unless she has told the story like 5000000 times. If that is the case, simply ignore that.
Lastly, I feel the need to quote Sweetie Bell. Due to the fact that both chapters show that both mares have the same problem, I feel it is accurate to ask "why does life have to be so ironic?!"
Anyway, take your time. Life is busy. Ponies need time to enjoy.

I, being a formally-speaking Finn, found it actually pretty hard to write AJ's dialogue. The southern dialect isn't a new thing for me, but it's still personally pretty hard to write with all the beautifully shortened words and apostrophes tend to go wrong. I have noticed this, but didn't really pay too much attention to it. But I think I should make them all identical, just for the sake of AJ
I also tried to take off some of the repetitiveness by using both, but I guess it's better to use just one.
Well, I was pretty much aiming for that. Granny Smith telling her story for the umpteenth time and everyone being bored to death by the never-changing plot of it.
And once again that was what I was aiming for. Both mares having similar troubles (that are known to be pretty common among humans, as well). I even purposely wrote some parts of the chapters to match each other word-to-word. Life can be cruel with it's urge to throw in some unnecessary irony to make your travels even harder than they already are
I sure will take my time! After the endoscopy I have at least three days of free time because the doctors want me to keep the knee healthy. Just sitting home, maybe playing some Aftermath or Minecraft and writing. Writing a lot

As I said before, I really don't think you're enjoying writing this story, and it shows.
You over exaggerate on the fact that it is supposed to be up beat, I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but things are happening too fast in some parts and too slow in others and the whole thing just seems overly cheerful. Could just be that I know what you usually write and my brain can't make the connection.
Once you finish this, go back and read it and try to see what I'm seeing. If you really want to write a romance, you should try one a little closer to your comfort zone. Write something with a darker undertone, make it depressing, make it sad. Make. Me. Cry. It suites you better.

This was the chapter that managed to put me in deep trouble multiple times... I had hard times trying to write certain parts and it can easily be seen... But as I didn't want to have you people waiting due to my knee, I just decided to finish it and see what would happen to me later on.
And the too fast - too slow thingy might be caused by the fact I have been busy lately, with preparing to the surgery, making sure not to slip in the icy roads and trying my best to get things done so I can really give my leg a rest. Sometimes I found the time to write and I wrote even thousands of words, sometimes I just opened the doc, looked at it, closed it and went to do something else. I guess it also pretty much depends on my mood. Hard to write happy when you are feeling a bit down
And no worries, as soon as I get this out of my head I will return to the sad style. I already have a one-shot ready, waiting to get the proper cover art before getting published. But as I really want to finish this one first, it's going to get out after Christmas. And it will be sad. And it will have Octavia. No more telling, spoilers ahead

Well, I surely took my time... But it's here, rushed and late.
Okay. I already apologize. It might seem extremely rushed. This is simply because of the fact I managed to develop a nice little writer's block that effectively kept me from writing this for couple of weeks.
Another thing I want to apologize for is that this might be extremely confusing for some of you. The main reason is that I told this from the views of Rainbow and Applejack. And Rainbow or Applejack have no idea how Pinkie and Twilight came up with the idea of getting them to the same place at the same time (even I don't know, to be honest...). So, you can still go ahead and ask "How come Pinkie knew what to write?", I kinda answered it here already.
No, Pinkie and Twilight didn't write by the orders of Rainbow and Applejack. They made the texts up. Why? Just for the lulz :3

I liked it, and the descriptions are beautiful. There was just one little thing that made my "lose my balance" while reading it. Applejack TOLD Twilight to send Rainbow to the Northern Cliff. Later, when she recieved the letter, she only thought on the sender, I mean, she didn't even, I don't know, worry about Rainbow going there, and the "Misterious Lover" being there too? Or what to do having two meetings in the same place at the same time?
Other than that, it was a good read, not excelent, but a good one anyways.

Yeah. I was all like "wut?" when I finished it... Felt so surreal...
And don't you worry, the next one will be taking you to the darkest streets of Manehattan, the playground of drug dealers, the place where the law is the one who has the biggest gun. Needless to say, it will be at least somewhat dark.
But the main category of the story is still sad, so emotions are also going to be present.
