Ponyville's weather is never quite the same without Rainbow Dash at the helm.

When a week of bad weather frays the nerves of Ponyville's farmers, they'll go to dubious lengths to stop one of their own from winning the heart of Rainbow Dash, and hogging all the good weather in the process.

Wanting to have a little fun, you decide to go out and give the neighborhood cowards, the flower sisters, a little scare.

Unfortunately, for you it worked.

It's no secret that the Flower Sisters are three of the most timid ponies in Equestria. Roseluck, Daisy, and especially Lily Valley are prone to panicking and fainting at the drop of a hat. But while most ponies are familiar with their high-strung personalities, what almost nopony knows is the secret concealed beneath. The true reason for their jittery nature is dark and destructive, and comes from deep inside the underground mountain tunnel on Equestrian Route 15.

Sparkler was a hero. For a short moment in time, she could show herself to the world while she helped saving Equestria from doom and destruction. The problem was just that the world didn't see her.

Sparkler was a shadow. She followed other ponies, made sure they were okay and was always there for them when they needed her help. But they never turned around at her. Because what's special about a shadow?

Sparkler was invisible. Always going unnoticed, no matter how much she helped, no matter how often she jumped into the breach for her fellow ponies.

It had always been like this for Sparkler. She was the invisible shadow hero of her world.

Everypony is important. But some heroes aren't meant to be noticed.

A story inspired by "The Ending of the End" from the Season 9 Finale. "Unsung Hero" contains a few references to my story "Aunt Millie", but knowledge about it is not required to understand this story.

Braeburn is a stallion from a family of workaholics. He is determined to make sure Appleloosa becomes a thriving, successful town no matter what - even if the cost is his own health.

Lily is a nervous mare who is scared of her own shadow. She has lived through Nightmare Moon, Discord, a dragon, an ursa minor, plus whatever else has attacked Ponyville this week. She would much rather stay home in her nice, safe garden with her nice, safe flowers than venture outside her front door - but her friends have other ideas after reading Iron Will's latest book.

When Braeburn is sent away from Appleloosa to stay at Sweet Apple Acres for the sake of his health, nopony would ever have imagined the two would meet. Yet the yearly celebration of the Spring is Sprung Feast provides the stage for a very unconventional love story.

Set in the time shortly after the Summer Sun Celebration and the return of Nightmare Moon.

The name's Burt. Just Burt. I'm one of the local apiarists here in Ponyville, meaning I sell bees and bee products. You know, stuff like beeswax, honey, pollen, and royal jelly. I just moved in a few months ago, and so far I have to say life around here is pretty good.

Now if only I could figure out what these mares are doing with my bees, I'd be golden.

This is the first in a series of standalone stories for background ponies from MLP:FIM Season 4.

First up: The beekeeper stallion from Castle Mane-ia, whom I’ve named Burt. Because reasons. This story starts off right where we left Burt after he got his bees back from three very silly mares.

A side story to A New World, a New Way by zeusdemigod131

One is a panicky gossip, and knows more about the matters of other hearts than she should—if only she knew about her own as much.

One is a fiery flower mare who wilts lamentingly at the thought of her lucky little clover being picked by another—the luck in her own name only helps somewhat in that regard.

One is the hard-faced big sister, the strong stem that holds a family and a business all together—all the while hoping that she doesn't end up like her mother.

One is an alien, kidnapped and brought to a new world against her will, along with several others—though the heartache of losing her guide to the void of changes cuts much deeper.

Four ladies in a world flipped onto its head, each looking for something stable to hold, to see, to feel.
