Most read fine as standalone pieces, though some may have varying degrees of reference to Pinkie Pie Swear. While not necessary to read to enjoy the works in this collection (unless marked with [PPS], in which case, it takes place during the events of the aforementioned fic), it may make the experience a little more meaningful.

A simple, run-of-the-mill field trip. Cheerilee had been there last year (and the year before that), so bored she could fall asleep... but knowing it was her students first time was enough to perpetuate her through the trip and not just through the motions. Now that it's wrapping up...

Gilda, the High Queen of the Griffon Kingdom, the Restorer of Griffonstone, receives Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria. This first diplomatic meeting after decades of animosities makes her realize the price that she had to pay to see her nation rise to its former glory.

It all came down to a choice between two great treasures.

Professor Astra Aquaduct is well respected in his field, even if he is the first Pegasus to be a scientist, and the youngest to become one as well. For 4 months, the professor has had his eye on a work partner, and decides to ask the mare out. When he discovers she is already proposed to somepony else, he contemplates under a large tree in the park under the stars...
And meets another mare in the process

Flash never completely forgot the girl who made him feel special, even when she had replaced him with someone else. That's what Flash believes anyway.
But it had sat well with him and they had both continued their school lives as normal. But it only takes one small mistake to unearth the truth and awaken the most explosive of feelings.

My name is Beatboxing Brass. I'm 19 years old. I have no experience with a weapon of any kind. Oh, and I'm going to the wastelands. I wonder how this will turn out.

Late one night, a young Spike asks Celestia why he is the only dragon in Equestria. Celestia tells him a very old story: the time two sisters challenged Tiamat—the Matriarch of Dragons—to a contest of knowledge.

Diamond Tiara says some things that go beyond her usual insults to Sweetie Belle which cause her to get extremely upset. Later that day, she cannot hold back her feelings and receives some unexpected condolences from her older sister, Rarity.

Luna's frustration with all the love and praise her sister would get during the day continues to grow inside of her until all of the envy and rage begins to take a form of it's own and starts to consume her little by little until it completely takes control of her very being.

In two Equestrias, Dr. Thaddeus Alxion is renowned in fear. He is the one who imprisoned the Solar Twins and left the Lunar Twins badly injured, he was locked away, deep inside Tartarus, never to escape. In fact, Cerberus himself guarded his cell and one other. Now, his fellow prisoner has escaped. Unbeknownst to the rulers, Thaddeus was far from evil, and has chosen to end Tirek, and with the blessings of Tartar itself, he has left to end it all.
One problem, his daughter is now in Equestria.
