Many have said that garbage represents the inevitable fate of all intelligent life. They look into the refuse of a landfill and bemoan the way that civilization paints its own demise, showing emperors and fools alike rendered useless by the ravaging advance of time. Some ponies weep over their garbage, because of what they must cast aside.

These ponies have never met Silver Spanner, champion dumpster diver and Equestria's foremost poetic defender of the average pony's junk.

A suit of armour wakes up in the woods from a very long nap and has some issues. These involve some less than stable quadrupeds called ponies and one very specific one which we shall refer to as Luna.

In a nation enthralled by the dawn of engineering, a young courier engineer and her airplane are hired for a simple delivery. But that delivery soon leads her and her friends down the path of adventures greater than any of them had wanted.

The Elements of Harmony have freed Princess Luna from the clutches of Nightmare Moon, and she could not be more grateful to their bearers. For her first Hearth’s Warming since her return, Luna wishes to give each bearer a gift in thanks. However, having not spent any more time in Ponyville, she knows very little about them, and thus has no ideas on what to give them. 

Having regained her power to dreamwalk, Luna decides to search for inspiration in the Element bearers’ dreams, but upon her first foray into the Dream Realm, she finds someone she never would have expected.
