Our Sister is worshipped like a godly entity that she is not. She is too proud, she will be the destruction of all our subjects. We must stop her, before she leads to our kingdom's downfall. We must stop ourselves. We are not gods. Limelight will take its toll and our Sister will suffer. She must be stopped.

Luna's corruption.

Princess Luna gets her wisdom teeth removed and it is not an easy process to go through...at all.

A normal day in Ponyville, ponies go about their business, buying, selling, fillies conning ponies into buying lemonade, the usual. Twilight Sparkle heads out to the market to buy stuff for a salad and doesn't expect anything else.

Then there is an explosion.

This story is part of The Equestria Tales series.

This story is technically speaking old and only been recently spruced up a little so it fits the minimum word length for submission here on Fimfiction. It happens somewhere during season 3, so this is pre-ascension Twilight.

After Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash announce their engagement, Twilight's parents have a chat behind closed doors.

Cheerilee's been promoted to School Superintendent. It's a good job, but she misses being in the classroom. All that changes when Princess Luna asks the teacher to take care of a special student.

On a related note, the local vampire population increases by 100%.

Twilight Sparkle never seemed to notice Lyra Heartstrings. She didn't even remember Lyra's name.

They were friends back in Canterlot and even went to school together. Yet Twilight didn't notice that Lyra just happened to move to Ponyville the same day she did. She didn't even notice when Lyra appeared at her welcoming party. Nor did she ever seem to spot her old classmate passing by in the background on any other day during her stay in Ponyville. Some days she could look right at Lyra and never realize that they knew each other.

Lyra isn't a very noticeable pony. She has put a lot of effort into that.

Set in late season 5, after Amending Fences.
Note: Lots of spoilers in the comments.

The wilderness is a chaotic mess, dangerous and hostile, that can only be tamed with music. A colt and his family need to travel, but not everpony will arrive at the end of the journey.

Will she succeed? Only time, and a lament that comes from her heart, will tell Luna the answer she seeks.
