Once upon a time, on the not-so-magical planet Earth, there was a US Marine who signed up to defend his country. He was assigned to a fire team, the fire team assigned to a squad and the squad assigned to a platoon. Together they defended the area surrounding a Forward Operating Base in Afghanistan from insurgents. If only it were that simple.

When lone Marine is transported to Equestria he finds a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With no orders, no resupply and seemingly no hope of return, he sets out to find what brought him here, and why.

Almost a decade before Littlepip left Stable 2 a different set of heroes was fighting in the area around Dodge Junction. Calling themselves The Wanderers this mercenary group is dedicated to protecting the ponies of Dodge. Led by the capable Drift, the group comes across a strange discovery. A young mare with a pipbuck claiming to be in search of her brother stumbles into their lives. But it appears that somepony else is after the mare, it's up to the wanderers to protect their new-found friend from the evil of the wasteland. But as the dangers continue, will Drift be able to protect his group from the horrors of the wasteland? Or will the group become those very same horrors?

Takes place after Keeping Secrets.

Rainbow Dash's newly born foal has been keeping Scootaloo from sleeping for the past few days. So when it comes time for Scootaloo to pay Rumble back for getting his help, Rumble decides they should pay a visit to Everfree Forest in order to get Zecora's help. They attempt to go over there, but due to a flight accident over the forest Rumble ironically sprains his wing and is unable to fly. Scootaloo, not wanting to leave her friend, refuses to fly away and leave Rumble on the ground. Now the two are stuck in the Everfree Forest, and need to survive and find a way out.

Along for the ride are four ponies, each with a connection to one of the Wastelanders. Their task is simple: survival. But with the terrors of the labyrinth and the fickle nature of its mistress standing in their way, do they have any real hope?

Not everypony who crawls out of a stable can be a Littlepip or a Blackjack. Some try and fail. Some just give up after a while. Some are still alive fifteen years after they emerged, admittedly, crippled or insane, but hey, this is the wasteland. Cyborgs Anne and her brain damaged mother Lee are forced to return to the hell hole that created them in order to find out what was done to them almost two decades ago, and that means putting down their tools and picking up their guns again.

This story is on indefinite hiatus. I've grown out of MLP and this story. What's there is yours to read, however updates may never happen, as much as it pains me to admit.
