Twilight is beyond the title protege. Prodigies are merely brilliant. Twilight has surpassed most of the greatest mages in history before the age of thirty. Twilight's research has changed the landscape itself. She is a living legend who some whisper may be the greatest user of magic to ever exist... perhaps even an equal one day to the semi-divine princesses.

But Twilight's knowledge is not infinite. She has one final lesson to learn. Twilight must learn the Final Law of Magic.

When Twilight returns back to Equestria after her time in the human world, she learns she lost something very important. Two things, in fact. Once you go hands, you never go back… for other appendages.

She wakes one night to find she does not know the ponies and the stars of today from the ponies and the stars of any other day she has lived. She no longer knows what was real and what was only dreamed.

She desperately searches for the one pony she knows could not have been a dream.

For one thousand years, Nightmare Moon wandered the moon, seeking perfection.

She found only dust.

Princess. The highest and most important title that can be given to a pony in Equestria. Here princesses are the final word in the country's leadership. Their decisions affect the lives of all who live within the borders of the nation. For the past year, the four rulers have gathered in the unassuming town of Ponyville for meetings of the highest secrecy and order.

If the ponies of Equestria knew what really happened behind these doors, they would probably switch to democracy.

It is said the River Styx seperates the land of the living from the fields of the dead. Every mortal eventually finds themselves crossing the black river of woe with its odd ferryman to meet their final resting place. The only question Twilight has is this.

Queen Chrysalis broods over her defeat at the hooves of Ponykind. Her race on the verge of starvation, she receives news that could prove to be the salvation or destruction of her kind; Celestia has arrived, and she wants to talk.

For Luna and Twilight, life had always been rather simple – eating treats, sleeping in the sunshine, and wandering the streets at night.

But all is not well on Equestria Avenue. A mysterious fox creeps through the shadows, Luna's past threatens to drive a wedge through her budding relationship with Twilight, and Twilight has to face the possibility of her normal life slipping away between her paws.
