Equestria was once a land of wonder where magic could do things beyond ponies wildest dreams and the Gods walked among mortals, It was an age of power, magic, and balance, it was the Era of Immortals

Then an event that became known as The Shattered Aeon happened and the world was never the same. What The Shattered Aeon was scholars have debated for centuries as records of this time and before are few and far between and they paint contradicting stories. All that is known is that when it was over the Gods had left the Material Plane to reside in their own divine realms never to return.

Survivors of the The Shattered Aeon were left to pick up the pieces and rebuild carving out their own kingdoms in what used to be the nation of Equestria.

It became known as The Fractured Era.

Twilight Sparkle was born to a poor family in one of these nations known as The Thronecrest Dominion and left home as a teenager to earn money for her family putting her magic and intelligence to work as a soldier for hire.

Now though Twilight is a wanted mare in the Silverspire Republic after being framed for the assassination of an Ambassador by a client, Twilight has to stay one step ahead of the authorities, bounty hunters and assassins sent by her client as a loose end that needs to be tied.

As two nations are on the brink of war Twilight Sparkle must rely on rival mercenaries as the only people she can trust, as she has to fight to stay alive by pulling back The Shadow Veil that hides the crimes of her ambitious former client.

Storm Weaver, a young and ambitious pegasus from Cloudsdale was always enamored with flight. Taking this love of flight into practicality, he is attempting to achieve the High Fliers scholarship, which requires him to do well in several races. Having already completed the majority of the races he needs, he's more than confident that the last race will be just as easy as the others.

However, a new participant enters the competition, and they seem to have quite the ego. Certainly this won't have a lasting impact on Storm Weaver's life. Right?

I hope your opinions on Dash are accurately represented here, Truth. :rainbowkiss:

After a mysterious frost falls over the lands of Equestria, ponies are forced to flee to the Far North to escape the eternal winter. There, around several coal-powered furnaces called Generators, they may generate enough heat to guarantee the survival of ponykind and civilization among the snow and frost.

However, as the temperature drops, and their situation becomes increasingly desperate, the ponies of New Ponyville must make the hard decisions.

What is the worth of a foal's life?

What lengths must be taken while facing starvation?

What must be sacrificed in the name of survival?

Where is the line between leader and tyrant?

There is only one wholistic truth among the howling winds and biting cold: The City Must Survive.

Rainbow Dash was accustomed to waking up in pain; being a Wonderbolt meant that at least some part of her was always sore. What she wasn't accustomed to was waking up in a cell in a world that's turned upside down.

In a place where everything seems wrong, she has to figure out just what she can trust. Is this a grand trick, or is this the world she's always known?

Since Gallus moved back to Griffonstone after ending his career with the Royal Guard, he’s paved a decent life for himself. He’s been charged with spreading the message and lessons of friendship throughout the village, which usually amounts to beating the other griffons over the head with common sense.

But one day, he snaps out of a haze. He realizes that griffons don't have as many problems with each other anymore, infrastructure is being built at an impossibly fast rate, and industry is flourishing on all sides.

And as good as that sounds, there's something malicious lurking behind this new age of prosperity.

Something bad is happening, and whatever it is, it’s affecting everyone else too. As Griffonstone grows, the other nations on the continent are getting worse, and it’s all connected.

Gallus, along with the rest of his old friends, are the only ones who can stop it, and considering that the last time they were all in the same place was three years ago, and it resulted in a bar fight and a lot of tears, none of them are in for a good time.

This story assumes that the epilogue at the end of the series takes place 10 years into the future.

Many of my chapters are edited by the wonderful Miller Minus and Jack of a Few Trades . I'm very grateful for them and I wouldn't be the same without them.

This story is a sequel to The Descent into Madness

Two years have passed since Rainbow Dash returned from a galaxy that knows only war alongside Applejack and the splintered remains of the once proud Swooping Pegasi. Now, as in the wake of her first return, the world of Equis has rocketed forward, combining knowledge and technology of both the ancient Eldar and the young and vibrant T'au. No matter how much any may wish it however, no one touches war and leaves it forever.

When ponies start showing up dead, torn apart in brutal ways that would put even the most savage of Everfree beasts to shame, the blame falls solely on a singular pony. Once more, Rainbow Dash must fight for her life and everything she holds dear. She is not the same pony she was in her youth, her actions heinous in the extreme and her mind shattered by the horrors of what she has seen and what she has done.

As old enemies rise and untied strands become knotted, lines will be drawn for every creature on Equis, answer will be given, and finally, the world will see what lies at the End of the Rainbow.

This story is a sequel to The Descent into Madness which is itself a sequel to Swooping Pegasus. Reading both isn't required, but I would highly recommend it.

Artwork has once again been done by the massively talented El Mutanto.

“All plant seeds kind of look similar. They share many traits. You put them in the soil, water them, and provide sunlight. They grow, but they don’t always grow up to be the same. It could be just as well that when the seeds have sprouted, grown up to be six feet high, is when you realize that they’re completely different and share not even a single trait.” - Lesson from Celestia | Part 5

As Rainbow Dash prepared to return home from the Wonderbolts on winter leave, she expects to attend the gala and spend the rest of the winter season relaxing with her friends. Instead she receives an urgent telegram summoning her to Ponyville where she is greeted by an angry mob and a shadow of her past.

When it starts to threaten her friendships, Rainbow Dash realizes just how dangerous the situation is, and is forced to confront the ghosts of her past and the life she left behind. Lest the one she built for herself crumbles in her hooves.

We all have days we feel we can’t survive. Sometimes our dreams are crushed. Sometimes our friendships fall apart. Sometimes the ones we love betray us. Sometimes sickness overtakes us and we may even lose the ponies we love.

One thing that is guaranteed is that we all have our day in disdain.

Quotes about the story:

"By the end of the first part, Cheerilee's blind in one eye, Dashie's had her nose broken among other wounds, and Twilight is paralyzed from the neck (or shoulders?) down. <.< And the plot just barrels ever onward" - Present Perfect
