Immortals are few and far between in Equestria, and they are all known to each other. Two of them are about to get to know each other a little better. Because one has just turned up uninvited in another’s private chambers. Maybe it’s time they had a chat?

The changelings are dying, and Chrysalis is desperate. But even desperation is no reason for a Queen to dismiss her pride. If she is going to beg for help from the ponies, she may as well beg a mare who she once called a friend.

But how much friendship still lingers, after a thousand years of distance and hurt? For the survival of the changeling race, Luna must bring forth not only peace between races, but also between long estranged companions.

At first, Chrysalis loathed him; the dumb-as-a-brick woodspony who goes by the name of Evergreen. But through circumstance, he is her only savior. Prince Sombra has just inherited the crystal empire from his late Father. The young Prince is grief stricken but tries to find happiness in his dark times. Having the Grand Galloping Gala going on in Canterlot seems like the best place to go for a good time. Upon arriving he surprise to see the reason why his family never went to these sort of things. Many believe that this is the last Gala that King Dawnbreaker will be alive for. His two daughters Celestia and Luna are suspected to be have begun training in the art of raising the day and night. With the entertainment of the evening being a barbaric circus run by slaves, Sombra tries to save the performers afterwards from their life of misery. He fails to safe them all but he does manage to save one. A young changeling. Taking her away and inserting her into his daily life, she soon becomes a close friend to him. Eventually Sombra starts to feel that there is something more between them. What fallows is a tale of passion which leads to many changes in the life of the young prince. Sombra spirals down the path of blind love not caring what may happen.
"Love can sometimes blind us to reason. Which leads to insanity."

I'm broken here, without power and without any friends to speak of. I am perhaps the most loathed creature in Equestria and the Crystal Empire. I am a unicorn, without his horn. I am only alive as further punishment, so that I should continue to wallow in my suffering. But I used to be a king. I used to be a hero, a savior! What happened to me? Where did I go wrong?

Love is tricky when you’re a changeling. You need it to survive, but the more you feed off of it, the more you want to actually feel it. Too bad that's impossible.

Queen Chrysalis' mother paid a heavy price when a misunderstanding caused a sudden "purge" of changlings from their peaceful existence alongside ponies. Years later, Chrysalis continues to struggle against her past and the regrets she holds as she attempts to find a way for her own to survive.

In an Alternate version of the Canterlot wedding Queen Chrysalis comes to Canterlot to get what she wants, and that thing apprently... is not conquest... it's the other half of her soul... Cadence. (One shot)
