Pinkie doesn't tell ponies about Pinkamena and Surprise. The doctors said that they were bad for her, that they were a disease, but she disagrees. Sure, Pinkamena's a bit of a grumpy-pants, but she's still a great friend! She's often the voice of reason to counter-act some of the other two's crazier ideas, after all. Surprise, on the other hand, is a great prank-player, and always up for some fun. She's more like Pinkie, only more hyper. Both are great fun to be around, and they get on well.

Thing is, she knows that if she told ponies about them, then they would be dragged back to the hospital. And then be 'treated' again. None of them want that. Because of this, not even her best not-in-head friends know about them. The three of them have, for years now, been careful enough to keep the existence of Pinkamena and Surprise secret.

This has, of course, gone out the window now that Twilight is hammering on the door after overhearing one third of a conversation, with no sign of anyone else talking.

Hints of F/F shipping inside. Nothing will actually come of it here, though. Maybe in a future story.

Shining Armor couldn't be more proud of his little sister, nor could he be more jealous. Both Cadence and Twilight will live forever. But what will become of him? When an ancient entity gives him an answer to the question, fear of death consumes his his mind.

Shortly after the vision, he confides his mortal anxieties to Cadence, who tells him of a legend regarding six artifacts that if collected can grant a pony one wish. For Shining Armor, he would like nothing more than to spend eternity with his loving wife and his adorable little sister. Willing to risk an early grave for a shot at immortally, Shining embarks on dangerous quest that set's a chain of events into motion that could very well mean the end of both harmony and chaos. Will Shining succeeded in his quest and become an alicorn, or will he nail his coffin shut early and ruin the full life he could have had.

Prince Crystal Sword knew that his mother Cadance would out live both he and his father Shining. However, after saving a pony from an attacker, he unlocks the alicorn gene with him, taking on the role of a guardian of Equestrian.

Now Crystal must endure as his he and his mother remain young. Meanwhile his father Shining continues to age, a fact with causes him great turmoil. And when the Empire is thrown into a war with the changelings, the young prince and his mortal father will fight for each others survival in the frozen tundra of the north. If Shining Armor is to die, Crystal Sword is bent on makeing sure changelings play no role in his fathers inevitable death.

This story is apart of a split timeline of the My Mortal Big Brother saga, but is also a prequel of sorts. It takes place in a universe where Shining Armor never had the nightmare that scared him into seeking immortality.
