My girlfriend Glitterkelp is an artist. She's also one of the few hippogriffs who have made it to Earth so far. You never know what her muse will come up with next.

A silly little thing written in two hours for the Iron Author competition of Ponyfest Online 3.0 on 30/05/2020. Slightly polished for publication.
The prompts were: Hippogriff culture and/or history, art or an artistic occupation - and a rare fruit.

Contains an Equestrian handling a dead animal and having no problem with it. No graphic description, but please don't read if this thought makes you uneasy.

When it comes to jobs, not everything lasts forever. Many positions that you find nowadays if you want to work at a government position are temporary. You would be lucky if your contract is extended or if you are brought on as a permanent employee.

Yet, not everyone is kept on and most of the time, employees are either transferred to another department or their contract isn't renewed. As they leave, they try to move on with their lives and try to find work elsewhere.

However, for one employee, moving on and saying goodbye to those he considers his friends is not that simple of a thing to do. Yet, his 'friends' show him that he doesn't have to be that way.

This... was an idea that had been spinning around in my head for sometime that I was unsure whether or not I should write, but finally decided to actually go through with it recently.

I wrote this as a way to test myself in other types of stories as well as an entry in Admiral Biscuit's Not-A-Contest. Yet, it's a bit of a different take on it.

Based on some... unfortunate circumstances that happened to me recently and I thought the best way to overcome what I have been dealing with is writing this. Apologies if it's... not up to my usual standard of quality

This story is a sequel to Business Trip

Five years ago, sixteen mares founded a hotel in New Jersey called the Mareiott. These are their stories. A sequel to Business Trip, it's recommended (though not necessary) to read that first. Act I serves as a prequel, Act II is comprised of side stories to Business Trip, and Act III explores what these mares have been up to in the ensuing years.

Of note, Mr. Jones Goes To Equestria is a side story to this, and completely optional prior reading.

Character tags: Cherry Pie, Daisy Dreams, Dewdrop Dazzle, Diamond Rose, Feathermay, Flitterheart, Honeybuzz, Lily Blossom, Lulu Luck, Ploomette, Plumsweet, Rainbow Flash, Snowcatcher, Starbeam Twinkle, Sunny Rays, & Sweetie Swirl

Each chapter will be told from a first pony perspective, so you can see the character's thoughts and motivations for their actions. That's sixteen individual points of view, and the pony in focus will be spelled out in the chapter name. Also, please note that due to the changing perspectives, the tone of the story will shift from chapter to chapter.

Written as a thank you to all those who enjoyed the original and requested a sequel, and also serves as another entry in Admiral Biscuit's challenge/request/not-a-contest for more slice of life fics featuring ponies working on Earth:

This is NOT human x pony romance!

Rudy is a pegasus stallion, living on Earth for the last 5 years. He's been helping a human named Jack deliver newspapers since coming here, and in the newspaper industry, there's no such thing as a holiday, unless the presses break down and can't be fixed by 8am the next day. This New Years Eve, Rudy and Jack go out to do what they do every night, but tonight might just be something special for the first time, as a mare he's come to fancy working inside the press building asks him a strange question.

----------

Edited (or at least who I saw in the gdoc before posting it) by Bill Cypher and Moonshot.

Written for Admiral's Not a Contest contest. I delivered newspapers most of my life, and we worked every day, every night, holidays be damned. I wanted to convey just how... normal a holiday would be to us. It was just another day, like Christmas, or Easter. We worked, we lived on, and we did the same thing every night, from when I was a baby, up to my mid 20's. Side note: I'm immune to paper cuts.

Sand mining is a vibrant industry in the United States. A fair share of states hold a stake in the name of sand, and while most rules of the dunes are followed, profits find a way in the margins of the law.

Nestled between the sister-cities of Conway and Myrtle Beach, a sand mine opens for its annual operation.

There were places you just didn't expect to see a pony on Earth, and the cemetery was fairly high on the list. Yet when Ben encounters one, he knows there must be a reason for the pony to be there. And it's probably not a happy one.

Mang Fermin, local Manila street vendor, has died in his sleep. Macario, one of his regular customers, now has to go to work without seeing him and taking a bite of his wares as is tradition. At least there's a new guy with his own food cart, though he's not exactly from around here....
