A year is made up of four seasons, each with its own identity and experiences. These same four seasons can be said to describe the life of a relationship. The relationship between Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash rises and falls with time, but through sadness, hardship, joy, and laughter, they both love each other with a depth that cannot be fathomed.

This is but a glimpse into the life of that love, told over the course of a year – a year of four very different seasons that span a lifetime.

Once upon a midnight dreary, a middle-aged earth pony scholar sits in his study pouring over ancient books, struggling to distract himself from memories of his recently deceased lover. To him, it would seem a night like countless others before, but then his otherwise peaceful evening is disturbed by a mysterious tapping sound from his front door. Unbeknownst to him, this noise is only the start of more trouble.

And who else can tell us the hardship of being a Wonderbolt than one of the best of them?

Rainbow Dash was lucky enough to win a trip to Dizzyland for the grand opening of Daring Do-land, but she's the only pony not having a good time at the park. Will her attitude cost her all the fun of her vacation, or will she learn her lesson in time?

Fluttershy's world primarily revolves around two things - her love for her friends, and her love for her woodland creatures. But during the winter, one of these worlds is cut off from her. When she bids her animals a good winter's rest, she wonders if her friends - or, maybe, a friend in particular - will be enough to temporarily take their place.

Perhaps they will if she opens up just a little bit more.

Vinyl, Octavia, and Neon Lights are three prominent students at the Conservatory of Canterlot who share an exquisite taste in music, insults, and illicit substances. Long nights and confusing mornings will be the least of their worries when an old friend pulls some strings to launch the group on a cross-'questria tour to Las Pegasas.

Everypony knows the name DJ PON-3. She's the most famous—or infamous, depending on your social circle—DJ in Equestria. She's loud, she's crude, she likes to party. Everywhere she goes, fun follows. She has ponies worshiping the ground she walks on, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Or would she?

Everyone has a facade hiding who they really are underneath, and every facade has a weak point. The time has come for the true Vinyl Scratch to be revealed to the world, whether she likes it or not.
