questions about the "convention" trope

so i was wondering if theirs any good stories where the mc goes to a convention, see a "sick deal" on fan merch that looks a little too realistic from that dude from resident evil then gets sucked into the mlp universe with the powers of whatever anime they got a item from that's actually good? or at least a fun read ive heard more groaning about how trash they are than actuality seen stories about it looks like the trend died years ago and most stories left unfinished, i mean the trope its self isn't too bad and after reading Skeletor, Master of The Empire. i though it was a good way of making a story as its a pretty good read imo, but after scouring the archives for older stories it seem like the vast majority of them are just self inserts that are basically Gary stew hitting every basic bland "hie story that's been done to death" tropes on top of basically acting either like Deadpool or generic isekai protag, i know theirs good stories out there but they are very hard to find
