EQD, I love you; I hate you.

It looks like my audio reading for Painless made it to EQD! I'm glad it made it, although it doesn't look like anybody who found my video from there has commented on the video yet, so I still don't know if strangers are actually enjoying the work, but I hope people find it satisfactory. At the very least, the mods did, I guess.

They cut off the ending of my story remarks, and I'm not sure why. And after waiting over three weeks to feature a couple story readings along with it, they never bothered to notify me it got featured four days ago. I'll take any feature where I can get it, but my support for EQD continues to diminish.

No, I will not turn off Adblock for you, EQD; seldom am I on your site, anyway, for disappointment abounds.

Thank you! Talent, perhaps; I've worked a lot to get to the point of being able to perform the way I do now. I wasn't quite as good at the start, and I've actually taken down videos of readings I'd like to redo because I believe they do not reflect my abilities now, but if you go back through previous videos I've done, especially the CreepyPasta stuff, there'll be a noticeable quality difference.

Still! I am quite excited you enjoyed that work in particular. As I said, I haven't gotten much feedback on it. It's the longest single video reading I've done, and I was afraid that maybe I just didn't do the text justice enough to warrant a response, even with the feature and extra viewership. The comments in part keep me going.

But if there's something by me you listen to which you don't enjoy, I'd like to know that, too. I'm not going to just stop what I'm doing because people have complaints. In order to progress, I need to keep going and know where I might be able to make improvements.

You mean the editor for your story or one of the content moderators? As an editor, the only thing that would truly rile me would be if my edits were being blatantly undone without any reason given from the author. A work I edited for getting featured would only bother me if the work credited me as an editor but didn't actually have any edits I made.

I was not aware of that. I'm guessing you didn't take well to some of the American conventions. I'm not aware of anything American-specific about ellipses, but I am aware of various equivalent expressions and spellings and how it's more common to use single quote marks for quotes and double quote marks for quotes within quotes, whereas the reverse accords with American conventions.

I have never been taught those rules. I've only been taught that ending punctuation can only go outside the quotation marks if the sentence itself is a question but the quote itself is not a question for clarity. I even have a fairly up-to-date textbook that affirms this.
