A Word of Warning About Memories · 11:37am Sep 2nd, 2014
I'm adding the 'Dark' tag to Memories of a Phoenix. I've been wrestling with this decision for a while, but after a lot of thought I came to the conclusion that there was no way I could adequately characterize certain individuals without including some, uh, fairly messed up situations. If the actions of Dancie's father (you're going to hate him, by the way) don't warrant the tag, Nix's actions far down the line with the Diamond Dogs certainly does.
Before you ask, no, the next chapter isn't anywhere close to completion. Sorry. I'm dealing with a lot of personal drama still, and as much as I hate to admit it, the stress is severely impeding my ability to get out chapters nearly as quickly as you and I both desire. Also, don't expect the humor to change just because I'm adding that tag; I know a lot of you read the story for its comedic situations, and I could no sooner change my style than I could cut out a piece of myself. I just felt the need to warn you all well in advance that not everything will be sunshine and laughter, and that some truly disturbing things do occur later in the story.
(Kinda implied by the whole 'Tragedy', 'mature - sex - gore' classifications, anyway, but I digress.)
Sweet as long as there more I don't care.
2425001 Well, I have foreshadowed or hinted at a ton of horrible things. In hindsight, Dancie's past alone is probably enough to merit the tag.
You know what would be awesome? No tags at all. Do you pick up a Brandon Sanderson/Neil Gaiman/Stephen King book and check the label for tags? No, because there are none.
I wish I didn't have to tag Memories. Outside of 'Human', none of them really fit.
