Status Update, Without the Interminable Absence · 7:27pm Jul 10th, 2014
No, I'm not announcing me posting the next chapter yet. Cool yer jets. It's only at 500 words, but it's flowing quicker than the nasty hiatus between my last two chapters. Expect it when...it's done. No promises, only that it'll happen. I can tell you to expect a menagerie of side characters, though, notably Derpy, Doctor Whooves, Vinyl Scratch, Bon Bon, and most importantly, Lyra, in that order. Those of you who've been reading this fic from the beginning already know which side characters I've already written as, uh, characters.
Having said that, you're probably also wondering about the amount of side characters I've included since the beginning. So, to clarify, if I've named a certain side character, like Blueblood or Fancy Pants, there's a fairly good chance they'll pop up again at some point or another. If you really wanna know which side characters I've already used that are gonna pop back up again, ask. I sure as fuck aren't gonna tell you which new ones are coming, though. Derpy/Doctor Whooves came out of left field this time, since I was wondering how to start the next chapter in a semi-interesting manner and all my false starts with Vinyl just weren't working in my brain.
Yes, their bit involves muffins. I don't try to subvert every fandom trope, after all. Just the ones I think are particularly annoying.
Now! Having said that, here's my planned arc progression for the rest of the story (don't worry, just knowing the title of the arcs in my head won't provide actual spoilers that might ruin your enjoyment, although if you're really worried about it, I've put them behind spoiler tags):
Current mini-arc --> Night Court --> Tartarus v2.0 --> Griffon Republic --> Nightmare Night and/or Diamond Dogs (gonna play it by ear on this one...they'll both be in here, just not sure which order yet) --> Finale
When you consider each arc is gonna be comprised of at least two chapters, and more likely three or four, and that there will be subplots running beneath the narrative that apply to later books, and subplots that apply to side characters only that have to be resolved and fit into the narrative before the end of just this first story out of the planned trilogy I'm writing, and you can sort of grasp...just how much I'm in over my fuckin' head.
But, I'll make it work. Promise. Eventually.

I've got something pretty damn epic planned for the Night Court arc, so I'm trying to wrap the current one up as soon as I can without being sloppy about it.
