Alright, you have questions. Some of them are pretty mundane, like, "Hey, Feng, what did you have for breakfast this morning?" Hah! Trick question, bitch, I wake up in the evening and only rarely eat breakfast! Some of you have more pertinent questions, though, like, "Hey, Feng, why you gotta be a gigantic dick and where's the next chapter of Memories?"
Okay, valid question. Truth be told, I'm pretty sure my job is trying to kill me. Corporate went full-retard not too long ago, halved the number of hours available to overnight stockers, and since I'm actually one of the best stockers in the company when I'm not failing to update my pony stories...? Yeah, I've been run pretty ragged the last, oh, year or so.
Now, having said that, I also have a vacation coming up next week. So, in the spirit of good will, and finally being given a break from my soul-destroying day job, I'll promise you this: Before the end of my vacation, you'll have, bare minimum, at least two new chapters for Memories of a Phoenix. And if I fail to meet those requirements?
I won't write another story. Ever.
Why is this important? Because I promised I'd finish the stories I have out, first and foremost. To renege against said promises goes against my personal principles, my present issues notwithstanding. However, moreso it's because I truly enjoy writing, and all these months I've not been updating I've still been living in this world I've created. To not give these characters I've been thinking about constantly a voice, and outlet for their individuality, would be a much greater sin than my eventual flawed literary attempts to grant them their freedom. If I can't even put out two chapters in 7-10 days, then I'm honestly not worthy of these characters and should give up my attempts to write entirely.
Thankfully, I already know what the next, uh, every single chapter of the first book should be. With the next three chapters, though, expect a fun little slice of life bit, followed by a very action-heavy couple that makes full use of the mature tag. Hell, Nix might finally stop being useless and start living up to being an actual badass.
Maybe. We'll see.
