Not much to talk about, really. Season 4 has its ups and downs, of course, but everyone is talking about that. New episode today was pretty good. I haven't gotten much writing done lately, since it's been kinda stressful and crazy at my house. Don't worry, though, as things are picking up. I've got a definite direction I want to take Dark Spectrum II in, so I should be putting more of that together and hopefully be able to release that in a couple months. Also, more Diamond Tiara stories should be coming in the near future. I'm starting to wonder if that's going to become my thing as I keep writing.
And now, some promotions for stuff I like, in no particular order. I feel that these things don't get the attention they really deserve. If you aren't interested in recommendations, then feel free to stop reading.
The Path of Lore and Kings (Teen-rated), by PassionQuill, follows a sour unicorn related to King Sombra as she seeks to reclaim the tyrant's dark powers. It starts out a little rough, but it picks up and has managed to hold my attention, entertain me quite a bit, and keep me wanting more. And more is expected to come, as the story is currently incomplete.
Another that you might look into is Guardians of the Old Forest (Teen-rated), by ocalhoun. While seeking an ingredient to help a sick friend, Rose winds up getting stuck with Timberwolves. I won't say much other than that it surprised me a little with the direction it took. This one is complete, so you can blaze through it right away.
After helping to save a dragon girl from being attacked, Spike goes on a journey of self-discovery alongside the scaly lady in DragonShadow's in-progress story Past, Present, and Future. I don't want to say much, but the issues at hand get real big real fast, and it deals with more than just Spike's sense of identity.
Despite some iffy characterization from a few main characters from the show, Samey90's Teen-rated story The Great Barn Robbery is rather fun and has some good banter. It is also a complete story. It has a Mature-rated sister story that takes place after it (though it's not exactly a sequel) which also greatly entertained me.
The Eye of the Storm (Teen-rated), by Butt Stallion, is one of the few stories that ever gave me any sort of shock. It's a little odd, honestly, but I thought it was quite good and woefully unappreciated.
Night Spark's story An Unwelcome Change is an interesting, in-progress story about a war between ponies and changelings, with a fair amount of focus on changeling who would seem to be defecting from his hive. Though it has an Everyone rating, it does contain some violence. The writing is a bit rough, but I'm really enjoying the story itself.
I'd also like to mention Doomsday, a fairly-new group for dark fics that could use more members and stories. You'll find no happy endings there, so check it out, if that's your thing.
That's all for now. Have a nice day.
* If I have promoted a story of yours and you'd prefer that I not, do let me know and I'll pull it from this list and refrain from doing so again in the future.
Aaww, thank you for putting me on the list. I'm honored
And yeah, my story is not that well written, especially the first two chapters I do hope to change that at some point. Though, that will be for later on. Still lots more to write, and only recently regaining the will the continue this story
Thanks for thinking it's good enough to warrant a reading
