The human child of Princess Twilight Sparkle gets a visit from an unexpected friend from his who was from another world.
Princess Twilight Sparkle, Spike, Nyx and Joshua were surprised when two mysterious creatures that fell out of some kind of portal in the Castle of Friendship's thrown room. Joshua recognized one of the two creatures, and said that he has come across him back on Joshua's home world. These two creatures were from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, but one of them is fan made.
Nyx was created by Pen Stroke, and Joshua was created by jkreader.
I was in my throne room with Spike and my friends. We were all sitting in our throwns, having a conversation. While Nyx and Joshua were at school, it was nice getting some proper time with my friends.
"It's so nice to be able to get used to this place," I said. "Thanks for doing this for me, Nyx and Joshua."
"Are you kidding, Twi?" Rainbow asked. "We'd do anything for you."
"Indeed, darling," said Rarity. "You deserve all of the good reminders you had in the old library."
"Oh, yes," said Fluttershy. "And I am positive that you should be able to enjoy something that reminds you of your home."
"Thanks, girls," I said to them. "I wouldn't have it any other way." Then I checked the time and said, "Oh, it's just about time to go pick up Nyx and Joshua."
"I'll go get them, Twilight," Spike said. "Besides, I kinda need the exercise."
"Alright, Spike," I said to him. "You go on ahead and get them."
Spike nodded and head out of the castle, and to the schoolhouse to pick up Nyx and Joshua. A few minutes after we left, the Cutie Map started glowing.
"What's happening?!" Applejack asked.
"Looks interesting," said Pinkie Pie. "Ooh, ooh, you think we should throw a party for this?"
Then a portal appeared above the map and two figures came out. Both of them looked like bipedal animals, and both of them were screaming as they came out of the portal, and we were all surprised. Both of them were clearly bipedal. One was like a gray fox, and the other one a yellow dog with brown spots. Both of them were wearing gloves and shoes. But the dog had more. A neckerchief, a shoulder belt and a hat.
"We have been falling..." the gray fox started, but took a breath. "...for thirty minutes." I was surprised these creatures were able to speak our language.
"Uh... M.C.?" said the dog. "Where are we?"
The two of them looked around and saw us. The gray fox grabbed the dog, and jumped up onto the roots of the library. The gray fox was hanging off one of the roots and he pulled the dog up to one of the roots, then he spun around and got on that same branch.
"What in Equestria are those things?!" Rainbow asked.
"I don't know," I said. "But they kinda look like human animals." I then got up onto the map and called out. "Excuse me. Who or what are you two?"
"M.C.," said the dog. "Those horses are talking."
"They're too small to be horses," the fox said. "They're probably ponies."
Just then Pinkie Pie appeared up there between the two and said, "We sure are!"
Then the two of them screamed and fell off the root. Right before they were about to collided with the table, I grabbed them in my magic. They were struggling to get out of my magic.
"What's happening?" the dog asked.
"Is this... magic?" the gray fox asked. "I haven't felt a magical aura like this since the Oracle of Delphius."
"I have no idea who that is," I said, "but I guess introductions are in order. I am Princess Twilight Sparkle, the owner of this castle. And these are my friends." I then motioned to my friends, starting with Pinkie Pie. "You already got spooked down by Pinkie Pie." Pinkie responded with a huge smile on her face. Then I motioned from left to right. "Over there is Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash."
The gray fox chuckled and said, "No kidding. I can tell by the two pegasi and that poofy haired pony why they're called that." He then pointed at the three in description. "She's pink, she's shy, and she has rainbow colored hair."
"You sure are a bit ragged," said Rarity to the fox. "Now, can we get your names?"
"Right," said the gray fox. "My name is Prince Michael Crayton. But my friends call me M.C."
"And I'm Ben Muttski," said the dog. "A.K.A. the Mutt. Quick question, where exactly are we?"
"Oh, right," I said. "You're in Ponyville, a small town in the country of Equestria."
"Equestria?" the gray fox asked. "Interesting. I better call..." He was looking at something on his glove and he paused. He then said, "This can't be right. It says that we were in the exact same spot in we were at before we went through that portal. Mutt, we didn't travel through space, we traveled through time. I hate time travel."
"How far did we go?" Mutt asked.
"Ten thousand years in the future," M.C. said. "That's gonna be hard to call for a pick up."
"At least we took care of Darkstrike," said Mutt. "He'll be a stone statue in the time stream for eternity. Even if he did make it out, only you are the one who can turn him back."
"True," M.C. responded. His eyes then turned gold. "Although, this place looks a little more peaceful than back in our time." He then looked over at Fluttershy with the golden eyes. It was freaking her out. "What?"
"I think your mind sight is creeping her out," Mutt said. That made Fluttershy nod.
"Sorry," M.C. said as his eyes went back to normal.
Then the doors opened, revealing Spike, Nyx and Joshua. I then said, "Oh, good. So glad you three made it. These two are..."
"Joshua?" M.C. asked. "Is that you?"
"M.C.?!" Joshua asked. "You're here?!"
"Hold on a second!" called out Applejack. "You two know each other?"
M.C. chuckled and said, "I've come across this kid back on Earth. Wait a minute, what are you... doing...?" His eyes went wide in realization. He then said, "Earth... was destroyed... wasn't it?"
"Yeah," Joshua said. "How did you know?"
Then I had a realization. I asked him, "You were there when Joshua's birth parents made the discovery, weren't you?"
He sighed, then nodded his had and said, "I was. Like I said, Joshua and I crossed paths before." He then looked at the table. "It went down like this."
(M.C.'s point of View)
Flashback...
It was a couple years since I been on Earth. It all started when a crazy evil scientist name Dr. Julien Robotnik, also known as Dr. Eggman, was trying to take over our world for many times. But an incident happened. A huge white explosion of light started eating up living creatures who got swallowed up by it. I was there when the light engulfed me. When I awoke, I was in a lab, being studied by human scientists. I almost got dissected like a frog. That was when I escaped.
I broke out, and headed west. I stopped in a city known as Oakland. I probably shouldn't have stopped in the middle of the road. I went out cold. When I came to, I was in a basement. I was strapped to a table, again, and I got out of the straps. The two humans were trying to keep me down, but I told them don't bother. I saw that the two of them were scientists, and they were creating devices to help improve their world. I admired their determination.
They let me crash on their couch for a few months. We then realized that if Chaos Control brought me here, then we could use Chaos Control to send me back. We worked on the plans to send me, and any other Mobians back to our world. But as we were looking for our world, on Joshua's fourth birthday, we made a discovery that a huge meteor shower will eventually hit Earth.
Eric and Sarah were scared, not just for themselves, but Joshua as well. When we were saying our goodbyes, I told that if Eric and Sarah were able to recreate the portal, but has limited power, they would have to keep their kid alive. So, I told them to send Joshua to our world and I would help out anyway I can. I've waited years for Joshua to arrive. Guess they didn't know the timeline. Even if I wasn't there, I told them to write a letter for the first intelligent creature that Joshua sees, and give it to them so they would give Joshua a proper home.
End of Flashback
"And that was the last time I saw Joshua," I said, ending the story.
"So, you're the reason why I was sent here?" Joshua asked. "You were just trying to protect me?"
I smirked and said, "The children are the future. Let them be happy."
Joshua ran over to me, and we hugged each other tightly. I then said, "I won't let anything happen to you." But then I sense something in him. "Something's different about you. I'm sensing some energy from within you."
"I can explain that," Twilight said. "A few days after Joshua arrived, my sister-in-law was told about him and she wanted to meet him. So, I had Spike, Nyx and Joshua pack up for a trip to the Crystal Empire. I was thinking of adopting Joshua, and he was okay with it. So, on the next day, I went to Canterlot to making adopting Joshua official. But, that night, a unicorn's horn appeared on his forehead. Joshua was being turned into a pony. When he was a full pony, we found a spell that would change him back. But, he was able to keep his magic."
"Interesting," I said. "But how did he become a pony in the first place?"
"It was an attempt to take over Equestria by an evil unicorn king named Sombra," Twilight said. "When turning Joshua into a pony failed on him, he decided to kidnap him instead. We rescued Joshua, and Sombra was banished to Tartarus."
"The gate to Tartarus is a thing?!" Mutt asked. "I thought you were just joking."
"I never joke about places like that," I said to Mutt. I then looked at the dragon and the filly with dragon eyes. "I'm guessing Spike is the dragon and Nyx is the filly?"
"Yes," said Twilight. Then Spike started gagging.
"What's up with the young drake?" I asked.
"Wait for it," said Twilight. Then Spike belched and from his emerald green flames a scroll materialized.
"Wow," said Mutt. "That's awesome."
"Yeah," said Spike. "That'll happen a lot." He then cleared his throat and read the scroll. "Dear Twilight, I have sense a huge amount of strange emanating from Ponyville. Whatever it is, reply to me immediately. I would like to know on what you have discovered. Your fellow princess and mentor, Princess Celestia."
"Wow," I said. "She is good."
"You have no idea," said Rainbow Dash. "Princess Celestia is able to lift the sun into the sky."
"Really?" I asked. "It wasn't like that thousands of years ago. The planet was orbiting around the sun."
"Wow," said Twilight. "You just blew my mind. I might have to ask the Princess about that. Spike, why don't you show these two around the castle?"
"Sure thing, Twilight," Spike said. Then Mutt and I followed the young drake as he gave us a tour of the castle.
Well, it wasn't easy for M.C. and Mutt to be announced, but they are. Everypony in Ponyville was a little taken back when M.C. and Mutt stepped up onto the stage, but they'll get over it. I walked up to the stage ad stood right between them.
"You don't have to worry about these guys," I announced. "They're the good guys. Don't treat them like you did to Zecora when you didn't know her. If it wasn't for M.C., Joshua wouldn't have end up here. M.C. has been to the world where Joshua is from, and M.C. saw something great in him. Hope. These two will help with any threats that not even we can handle."
M.C. then walked up in front of me and said, "You might not find our appearances appealing, but I can promise that we will protect all of those who are in danger. No. Matter. What."
Then the crowd started cheering. Guess M.C. has a way of getting a crowd on his side. I have to ask him what he does to make a living.
M.C., Mutt and I were meeting in Sugarcube Corner, having a snack. M.C. asked for a chocolate doughnut bar with chocolate chips, and Mutt had a couple of apple fritters.
"So, M.C., what did you do for a living?" I asked.
M.C. sighed and spoke. "It all started when my life came crumbling down. I was seven years old. It was my birthday. Everything was okay at the moment, but that was when Darkstrike and his army of Rogue Knights destroyed my kingdom. Some of Darkstrike's men were already inside, exploiting our strengths and weaknesses. Our kingdom's defenses were the greatest out of any other defenses on the planet. But we weren't expecting our defenses to be used against us. I lost everything that day. I watched my mom get crushed by the ceiling over her. But before that, I didn't know what she was doing because I was just Joshua's age when he came here."
"So you and Joshua had similar stories," I said. "It's just so sad."
"Yeah," he said. "I was the only survivor that day. The Rogue Knights retreated, leaving me all alone. I was saved by the United Federation and they took me to their country. The government allowed me to live in their country, they payed me enough to keep me living. I had been living in a camper for many years. The United Federation taught me all that I needed to know about making a living. They gave me a truck to pull my camper, the right to have a Driver's License, and even some martial arts training. But, I wasn't truly happy. For those many years... I was... lonely."
I felt bad for him. He needed a hug, so I gave him one. I told him, "You don't have to worry about that." Then something came to mind. "When did you end up on Joshua's world?"
"The Chaos Control incident," he said. "Many of our heroes were trying to take down Eggman for another attempt to taking over the world and making his own empire. But when Sonic got in to rescue a young friend of Eggman's trap, he accidentally blew up a machine with all the seven Chaos Emeralds that were being used for its power source. A huge white ball emanated, swallowing up everything. Many Mobians were swallowed up by it. I woke up, and I was on Earth, in a place called Area 51. A place where scientists are studying the unknown. Cosmic phenomenon or other worldly things. They said that they wouldn't be able to let anyone get in or out. I got out of there in less than three minutes."
I then looked over at Mutt and he responded with, "Don't look at me. I wasn't anywhere near that explosion."
"And you already know how I got back," M.C. said. "Six months later, I met Mutt. He was an assistant to one of the greatest Mobian scientists, Sir Charles the Hedgehog, until he died in a fire. That fire was when I met Mutt. I got Mutt out of there alive, but Sir Charles died. He took in too much smoke. And now, Mutt has never left my side. He's been with me for a while. I actually enjoyed his company. We've been all over the country, helping those who are in danger. But our powers aren't enough. So, we had to go to the best young scientist in the country, Alex Lynol, the youngest CEO in the entire country. Us these gloves that are holographic computers. He's also a human turned Mobian Otter, and his powers are incredible. He's able to see all possible futures up to 72 hours."
"Interesting," I said. "He must've been a good ally to be with."
"He's also a perfect shot," said Mutt. "Never missed a shot. His weapon of choice, a bow and special tipped arrows."
"And thanks to him, we got some good tech," M.C. said. "Holographic computer gloves, Mutt's jet shoes, and an Elemental Whip."
"Well, I hope you two will be happy here," I said to the two Mobians.
"Yeah," said M.C. "I'm gonna go for a walk. I'll see you back at the castle." He then got up and headed out the door. I felt bad for him. Now, between his stories and Joshua's story, I don't know who's is worse. I was about to get up and follow him, but Mutt put a hand on my shoulder.
"I wouldn't," he said. "Whenever M.C. wants to be alone, we should just let him. He's going to be out for a while. We should respect his privacy."
"Guess I can respect that," I responded. "So, what can I expect from M.C., besides his moody expression?"
(M.C.'s Point of View)
I decided to go through a walk through the orchards of Applejack's home, Sweet Apple Acres. A quiet alone time was all I need. All I need was peace and quiet. I went to one tree, and got into a meditating position. I then closed my eyes and cleared my head of any negative emotion. Inhale. Exhale.
But then, the sound of children's laughter could be heard. I opened my eyes, and turned my head towards the source of the noise. I saw a tree house about 30 meters from my position. I got up, and went towards the treehouse. I walked up the steps and I looked into one window and saw Nyx and Joshua in there. Along with five other fillies in the treehouse. Two Earth Ponies, two unicorns, and one pegasus. I could see that Joshua has a lot of good friends, but I was expecting for his friends to at least have boys in his group.
"Hear ye, hear ye!" said one of the fillies. It was the yellow Earth Pony with a red mane and a pink bow in her mane. "This meeting of the Cutie Mark Crusaders is now in session! Who wants to do roll-call?"
"I'm pretty sure we're all here," said the orange pegasus filly.
"Yeah. Apple Bloom," said the young white unicorn, what's this all about?"
"Oh, nothin'..." said Apple Bloom. She then pulled out a letter. "...except this letter from Babs Seed sayin' she's got her cutie mark!"
"What?!" asked all the other fillies and Joshua.
Apple Bloom looked at the letter again and said, "She says it's a pair of scissors!"
"So, she's good at cutting stuff?" Joshua asked.
"Of course!" said Sweetie Belle. "She was always fussing with her bangs and tail! I'll bet she grows up to be a celebrity stylist."
I smiled at that remark, and I decided to head to the door. I knocked on the door and opening the door was Joshua. He smiled as he saw me and said, "Hey, M.C. Good to see you."
"Wow, Joshua," said Apple Bloom. "When you said you were friends with one of those creatures, Ah thought you were just kidding."
"Joshua would never kid about me," I responded. "Josh, how about some introductions to these young fillies?"
"Oh, right," said Joshua. "Girls, meet Prince Michael Crayton, also known as M.C." He then looked at me and said, "M.C., meet Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Twist, and my filly friend, Dinky."
"You found yourself a girlfriend here?" I asked him. Then I chuckled and playfully punched him on the shoulder. "You sly dog, Josh. I knew you'd find love, but not this fast." That comment made both Joshua and Dinky blush.
"Nice to meet you," said Dinky, still with that blush on her face.
"So, this club you have," I said. "It's for finding some kind of mark?"
"Oh, yeah," said Apple Bloom. "This club is for members who are trying to find their Cutie Marks. As you can see, Nyx and Twist already have their marks."
"I see that," I said. "But what exactly is a Cutie Mark?"
"A Cutie Mark is what represents our special talents," said Sweetie Belle. "We haven't exactly found our Cutie Marks yet, but we're working really hard on trying to find ours."
"Check out this list," Nyx said. "This is a list of ways for Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Dinky to get their Cutie Marks. We stick around to help them out. Mostly because we don't want to lose our friends."
"Good thinking," I said. "Anyway, Sparkles told me about your origin, Nyx. I kinda figured that there can't be a Nightmare Moon without Luna. It was her desire to put in the eternal night."
"I know," said Nyx. "Good thing I couldn't let myself go down the path of darkness."
"Yeah, especially with those mind controlled ponies trying to get you to the dark side," I said. I then looked outside and said, "Hey, kids. It's getting late. How about I escort you kids home?"
"Ah can make it home," said Apple Bloom. "Basically, this treehouse is on mah family's property. Ah'll see y'all tomorrow."
I then took the fillies and Joshua back to their homes. First we stopped at Twist's house. Her parents were really sweet. Then we went to Dinky's house. I was a little concerned by Dinky's mom, being a wall-eyed pegasus. She must've gotten into a lot of accidents. Then I dropped off Scootaloo at her place. Her parents weren't home, but she did have her two aunts, Lofty and Holiday. They seem like nice ponies to take care of Scootaloo. Then I dropped Sweetie Belle off at Rarity's Boutique. Rarity thanked me for escorting Sweetie Belle home. And last but not least, I brought Nyx and Joshua home at the Castle of Friendship.
We walked into the Castle's Library and saw Twilight and Mutt reading some books. I then called out, "We're back."
Twilight and Mutt looked up from their books and Twilight said, "I was wondering when you'd get back. And I see you brought home Nyx and Joshua."
"He also brought the rest of the Crusaders back to their homes," said Nyx.
"M.C.," Twilight said to me. "I told Princess Celestia about how you Mobians are supposed to eat meat. So, we agreed to let you consume meat of animals that are not able to speak. We had to import the meat from Griffonstone for you to consume."
"Thanks, Sparkles," I said to her. "So, where are we going to sleep?"
"Good question," Twilight said to them. "Mutt and I have been busy while you were out."
She then lead me to a room where Mutt and I will be sharing a room. There were two beds, two desks, and a lamp to light up the room.
"Dinner will be ready in a few," said Twilight. "I'll call you whenever dinner's ready."
"Thanks, Sparkles," I said to her. I looked at the two beds, and saw that one of them were being held up by sixteen cinder blocks. Now, for your information, I'm able to manipulate my own density. Whenever my mind goes heavy, so does my body. I've been tested for that multiple times. Not even the greatest scientists on Mobius or Earth could figure it out.
I looked out the window, and saw that I was in the future, far from calling for a way back. I might as well start getting used to this place.
Today was going to be interesting for M.C. and Mutt. My brother, Shining Armor, and my sister-in-law, Cadance, have invited me, M.C., Mutt, Spike, Nyx and Joshua to the Crystal Empire. Cadance was so interested in meeting M.C. and Mutt. My brother is a bit sketchy about them. But I'm sure that we'll get him to trust M.C. and Mutt.
We just arrived at the Crystal Empire, and we all headed towards the Crystal Castle. Just then, we stopped at a giant crystal statue of Spike.
"Now, what the heck is that?" M.C. asked.
Spike stood up in front of the statue and said, "Oh, this is a statue of me, saving the Crystal Empire from the wicked King Sombra, who was trying to rule over the Crystal Empire in fear."
"Yeah, Spike did do that," I responded.
"Oh, please," M.C. said, rolling his eyes. "Who would honestly believe that?"
I then giggled and shouted out, "Hey everypony! Spike has returned!" Then a bunch of crystal ponies came out, pushing M.C., Mutt, and Joshua out of the way.
"What in blazes just happened?" M.C. asked.
"This has been happening ever since the Equestria games," Joshua said. "C'mon, let's get going."
I giggled at them as they were pushed out of the crowd. We then headed towards the castle.
"Sunshine, Sunshine, Ladybugs Awake. Clap your hooves and do a little shake!" Cadance and I did our fun little dance we did since I was a filly.
"It's so good to see you again, Twilight," Cadance said to me. "Now, where are the two creatures."
I turned around and saw that they were nowhere in sight. I said, "That's odd. They were just here a moment ago."
"Joshua?" Nyx asked. "Does M.C. have any more abilities than just strength and speed?"
Joshua then put a hand to his chin and started thinking. He then said out loud, "Super Strength, Super Speed, vocal manipulation, the ability to manipulate matter, cutting through any solid object and... wall climbing." He then looked up, and the rest of us looking up. There, hanging from the ceiling was M.C. and Mutt. M.C. was standing on the roof from his feet with Mutt hanging from him, and both of them had their hands held together tight.
"Hey," said Mutt. "We just can't 'hang' around." That pun made both of them chuckle. Then M.C. jumped from the ceiling, and landed, and Mutt coming down with air coming from his shoes, slowing his own descent.
Cadance and my brother, Shining Armor, walked up to the two of them.
"So, you are the creatures that fell into Twilight's Castle," said Cadance. "I'm Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. But I prefer Cadance."
"A pleasure," M.C. said, shaking her hoof. He then pounded his chest, and bowed his head quickly. I was confused at that.
"It's a Crayton Kingdom custom," Mutt said to me. "Instead of bowing to other dignitaries, they pound their chest and bow their heads really quickly."
"Well, as long as it's a custom," said Shining Armor. "A pleasure to meet you as well. Are you really a prince?"
"I was," M.C. said. "My kingdom was destroyed when I was seven years old... due to a psychotic madman who used to be in my family's royal knights. He did something without approval from my father, and got banished from the kingdom. It was my birthday when he destroyed my kingdom. I was the only survivor of the destruction of my kingdom. Right now, I don't know who had it worse, me or Joshua when Earth was destroyed."
"By the sound of that, I think you two are tied," said Cadance. "Now, how about we give you two a tour around the Empire?"
"This place does seem interesting," said M.C. "What do you think, Mutt?"
"If I'm gonna go outside, I'm gonna need sunglasses," said Mutt. "Every time we go out there, I'm blinded by the sunlight bouncing off anything shiny."
M.C. then held out his left hand, and golden energy started flowing into his palm, and forging a pair of sunglasses.
"Wow," I said in awe. "You sure can make things out of the matter around you?"
"Yep," said M.C. "And also, watch this." Mutt then grabbed the sunglasses, and threw it on the ground. Then he started stomping his foot on it. And when he picked the sunglasses up, they weren't damaged one small bit.
"What... but... what?!" I asked.
"Anything that M.C. forges with his materiokinesis is indestructible," said Mutt. "There's also one more ability that M.C. has. A regenerative healing factor. He's basically immortal."
"But, I don't really see it as a gift," M.C. said. "Immortality is something that keeps you from seeing your deceased loved ones."
"That's a major down side when you think about it," said Nyx. "It must've been sad for Princess Luna to come back from the moon for 1000 years and find out everypony she knew and loved died of old age, and nopony to understand except her own sister."
"Must've been really hard," I said. "To be without your family, and your healing factor prevents you from seeing them. The holidays must've been harder for you."
"You have no idea," M.C. responded. "Anyway, on with the tour."
Then the we all headed out, giving M.C. and Mutt a tour of the Crystal Empire.
(Joshua's Point of View)
This was a lot more walking than we did when I first went to the Crystal Empire. I think M.C. and his young buddy, Mutt, really enjoyed their day... until the two of them, and myself, were lifted into a magical aura of some weird orange unicorn with a white spot between his eyes. His mane was dark orange, he wore silver glasses, and a blue cloak with light blue stars all over it. He also had white hooves.
"Interesting," said the strange unicorn. "I've never seen creatures like these before. They could possibly be a new species here in Equestria. I might as well write a letter to Princess Celestia about this."
M.C. sighed and said, "We're not new species. The dog and I came from 10,000 years in the past. And as for him, he's a human." He said that last part pointing at me.
"Plus, Princess Celestia was the second alicorn to know about us," said Mutt. "Plus, Joshua has been here longer than we have. Now, could you put us down?"
"No can do," said the unicorn. "I need to study you three for further inspections."
"Put them down," came Mommy's voice. We looked over and saw Mommy, Nyx, Spike, Aunt Cadance, Uncle Shining and Cousin Guard coming towards us.
"Oh," said the unicorn. "There are new princesses? Why didn't anypony tell me?"
"Maybe you'd notice if you got out of your house more," said M.C. "Now put us down!"
"Sorry, Princess, but I must..." the unicorn started saying, but the sound of whirling came and we looked over at M.C., and seeing he was spinning. I didn't even know he could do that. Then he broke out of the magical hold he was in, and then sped off, pulling me and Mutt out of the holds we were in.
"How did that thing...?" the unicorn asked.
"That's enough," said aunt Cadance. "Listen, you really should spend more time out of the house, and get some fresh air. Get some information about what's happening out there."
"Even Twilight needed to do that," said uncle Shining. "She was too focused on her books to do something with friends."
"I wasn't that bad," said Mommy.
"The whining you're giving off says that you were," said M.C. "Let's get going." M.C. then looked back at the unicorn and pointed a finger at him. "You need to get some more information on what's happening around Equestria."
"I'll... I'll try that next time," said the unicorn. "Sorry for the trouble."
Then an earthquake went off, making everything shake. We all looked around, and then uncle Shining asked, "What's going on?"
"I think it's an earthquake!" said Mommy.
"Sorry about that," said M.C. "That was just my stomach." Then we all looked at his stomach and then it growled again, making a smaller quake this time.
"Wow," I said. "And I thought that my stomach growled loudly whenever I get hungry." That made cousin Guard laugh. "Fox funny."
That comment made M.C. smile and chuckle.
That night, we all were going to be spending the night. Mommy, Nyx, Spike and I would be sharing one room while M.C. and Mutt stay in the room next to ours. I looked out the balcony, admiring the view. I looked to my left, and saw M.C. looking out, balancing himself on the fence of the balcony from his room.
I called out to him, "Hey, M.C."
"Hey, kid," he replied. "You doing okay?"
"Yeah," I said to him. "What are you doing outside?"
"Just checking out the view," he said to me. "But, I sense something strange out there. I can sense it."
"I'm sure you and Mommy can handle it," I said to him. He then jumped onto the balcony I was on, and he jumped really high.
"I'm sure we can," said M.C. "I've fixed the moon, absorbed a sun, and brought down crazy strong villains. I would say that this would be no different, but here, I'll be wrong."
I chuckled at that comment and said, "Well, good night."
"Night, kiddo," he said to me, rubbing my hair. He then headed back to his balcony, and headed into his room. I then went into the room, we were staying at and headed into the bathroom. I then got changed into my PJ's and went into bed. As soon as I got in, Nyx hugged me tight.
"Good night, little brother," Nyx said to me.
"Good night, big sister," I said to her. Then we fell asleep.
Well, it was that time of year again. Winter is coming, and all of the ponies are preparing for it. Although, it might be a lot colder in the castle at night. We might as well get a lot of firewood to keep us warm tonight.
Joshua and I just got out of school, and we headed home. Twilight won't be home, but M.C. and Mutt will. We didn't find them in their room, so we checked out the other rooms. This castle has a lot of rooms here. But then we found the two of them in the kitchen.
"Just in time," M.C. said. "Here, I made some hot cocoa." Joshua and I used our magical auras and took the cups of cocoa our of his hands. For an ancient creature, he sure can make a pretty good hot cocoa. "And as for you, Mutt, the warmed up Apple Cider is finished." He then handed Mutt a cup of Apple Cider. Mutt looked up at M.C., who responded with, "Don't worry. I made sure it was the alcohol free cider. I would never serve alcohol to children."
"Good call," said Mutt. "Bottoms up."
"I'm confused," said Joshua. "Why isn't he drinking hot cocoa like us?"
"Mutt's allergic to chocolate," M.C. said. "He gets hives like crazy."
"Its true," Mutt said. "It ain't pretty."
"Where's Twilight?" I asked.
"She's out checking on preparations for winter," M.C. said. "But that really bugs me. Pegasi are in charge of making the weather? Back in our time, the weather worked by itself."
"Along with the weather on my old world," said Joshua. "Although, there were some people who tried to predict the weather, but most of their predictions were wrong."
"Yeah," M.C. said. "That happens a lot. So, we might as well prepare for what's coming. You take your drinks and go on and do your homework."
"Okay," said Joshua and I. We then headed towards our room to get started on our homework.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
It was starting to get cold inside the castle, so I decided to go into town to get some firewood so everyone there would be nice and toasty tonight, for a few hours. I saw up in the sky at the floating city of Cloudsdale. But seeing things from down there, it looks like a hurricane was going on up there.
"What in the name of Celestia's goin' on up there?" came Applejack's voice from my right. I saw, Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity and Spike, all of them in winter gear.
"Prepare yourselves, everypony!" said Twilight in worry. "Winter is coming!"
Then a huge amount of snow came down from Cloudsdale, trying to bury everything in sight. Luckily, I ran towards the group, and made a barrier protecting us from the snow. If you were watching outside, you'd see a huge bulge covering up my barrier and all seven of us combined. Then I broke through the ice bubble, and all seven of us climbed out.
"What in God's name was going on up there," I asked.
"I don't know," said Twilight. "But thanks for the quick save."
I then looked around and asked, "Hey, where's Rainbow Dash?" We were answered by the sound of Rainbow Dash screaming as she was coming down fast.
"Everypony! Look out!" Twilight called. But we all didn't move in time, and we all got trampled. We groaned after getting up. Looking over at a bulge of snow, Rainbow Dash came popping out with a tortoise.
She groaned and said, "You okay, Tank?"
The tortoise replied with a yawn. We all then walked towards Rainbow Dash, and Twilight asked, "Rainbow Dash! Are you alright?"
Rainbow Dash sighed and replied, "No..."
I walked up to her and said to her, "What were you doing up there? That was seriously dangerous. What were you thinking?"
Rainbow sighed again and said, "I... I was trying to stop winter from coming to Ponyville so Tank and I would be able to have a good time here."
"Rainbow Dash," I told her. "Tortoises are supposed to hibernate during the winter. You gotta let Tank go. Plus, you won't have to worry. Fun fact about tortoises, they have a life span of 50 to 100 years, give or take on gender and illnesses they receive. And by the looks of this tortoise, he's about 10 years old."
Rainbow Dash started sniffling, and said, "I... I don't want to let go. I need Tank."
"I know, Dash," said M.C. "There are somethings that you can hold onto. But there are a lot of things you have to let go. You have to let Tank go."
Rainbow Dash wrapped me in a hug, and cried into my shoulder. Then the others got into the hug, making it a group hug. I then got myself out of the group hug without any of them noticing.
I then said to them, "Now will you excuse me, I need to get some firewood for the castle, and help clean up all the snow that's covered half of Ponyville." I then headed towards the town to get things done. Hopefully, Rainbow Dash will be better by tomorrow.
(Twilight Sparkle's Point of View)
We were there when Rainbow Dash said one last goodbye to her tortoise, Tank. Rainbow Dash then pulled out a Daring Do book.
"Uh, I'm gonna hang here and read to him a bit," she responded. "That little guy can never get to sleep without a bedtime story. I'll be right there."
Well, she's going to be joining us later for some winter time fun. I hope Nyx and Joshua will be having a lot of fun where they're at. "Oof!" I was caught off guard when a snowball hit me right in the face. I looked over at where the snowball came from and saw Mutt, Nyx, Joshua and their friends with snowballs at the ready. All of them were laughing.
"See, guys?" Mutt said. "The best way to get a clear shot is when you ambush them."
M.C. chuckled and said, "You kids are gonna get it." He then used his Super Speed and created a lot of snowballs. He had five in mid air, and then he jumped, flipped, and then kicked the snowballs towards the kids. He hit Mutt, Joshua, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Twist. "And that's how it's done."
We all then grabbed some snowballs, and started a snowball fight with the kids. It went on for a while. Then Rainbow Dash came in and started throwing snowballs at everypony in sight. Until she was hit by a snowball the size of a dumpster. Turns out, M.C. and Applejack brought up a secret weapon to take out a lot of ponies who would eventually be hit by it. Guess even the beings from the past have a fun time eventually.
Nyx, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Dinky and I were on a train to a place called Appleloosa. Twist couldn't make it because she was going to see her grandmother in Vanhoover. Applejack was going to Appleloosa for their annual rodeo since her cousin Braeburn was injured, and Apple Bloom invited all of us to watch Applejack during the rodeo. But I got a weird feeling that that was the only thing she wanted us there for. Just in case, Mommy had M.C. and Mutt come with us to make sure we didn't get into any trouble.
We had all just arrived in town and saw a bunch of ponies training for the Rodeo. Apple Bloom ran up in front of us and asked, "Aren't you glad y'all came with me to see Applejack compete in the Appleloosa rodeo?"
"Totally!" Scootaloo responded. "This place is a Cutie Mark gold mine!" We all then looked at the ponies practicing what they were doing. "There's barrel racing, roping contests, rodeo clowning, steeplechase..."
Apple Bloom then turned around and faced us, saying, "If we can get into some of these events, we could all four, me, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Dinky, walk off the train back in Ponyville with brand spankin' new Cutie Marks!"
"Wouldn't a barrel look good here?" Scootaloo asked, looking at her flank.
"I want a lasso!" said Apple Bloom.
Sweetie Belle and Dinky looked over and saw one yellow pony wearing a vest and a cowboy hat, and his left forehoof in a sling and got a little nervous.
"I don't know..." Sweetie Belle said. "All these events look a little, well, dangerous."
"I agree," said Dinky. "I don't want to get hurt. You know how much my mom wants me safe."
"No risk, no reward," said Apple Bloom.
M.C. walked up to them and said, "Actually, Dinky and Sweetie Belle are right. It's very dangerous for young ponies to be in a rodeo. Especially if you're inexperienced."
"How would you know about that?" Nyx asked.
M.C. chuckled and said, "Tell 'em why, Josh."
The girls, M.C. and Mutt looked over at me, and I responded with, "Back when M.C. was on my world, my parents took the four of us to a rodeo. M.C. thought it might be a little fun to enter the junior rodeo contest. He got on the most dangerous bull in the challenge, and it threw him off. Then the bull started chasing M.C., and he got chased into a barrel, and that barrel got rammed right into the area with all the other bulls. If it wasn't for his healing factor, those bulls would've seriously killed him. Or hospitalized him."
"Whoo wee," said Applejack walking up to us. "That's actually a good reason why you fillies shouldn't be entering in a rodeo. Wait, you tried riding a bull?"
"The only intelligent creatures on Earth were only humans," said M.C. "Before us Mobians accidentally ended up there."
"And what made those bulls so angry?" Apple Bloom asked, cocking her head.
"Rumors say that bulls hate the color red," M.C. said. "That's not true at all. Bulls are color blind to most colors. But not blue. It's really blue that make them mad. It was proven on that show, Mythbusters."
"Alright, everypony, listen up!" came a voice. We all turned our heads towards a pony that looks like a sheriff, so he must be the sheriff of this town. "We need a big presence at this here rodeo, so make yourself plenty seen! I want that low-down varmint to know we mean business!"
My friends, M.C. and Mutt were confused about that.
"I hope nothing bad is going on," Sweetie Belle said, nervously.
"A cutie mark-appaloosa and a low-down varmint? This is shapin' up to be the most excitin' rodeo ever!" said Apple Bloom.
"Yeah, come on!" said Scootaloo, as she, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle ran off.
"What did I just say?" M.C. asked, irritated. He then walked over towards the sheriff and asked, "What's the problem, officers?"
The sheriff looked at M.C. and said, "Oh, I heard rumors of a bipedal fox wondering Equestria. Guess the rumors were true."
"You bet they are," M.C. said to him. "And, repeating the question, what's the problem?"
"Well, we got a big time varmint that'll be sabotaging the rodeo again," said the sheriff. "He's very dangerous, and causes trouble everywhere he goes. Every year, he sabotages the rodeo so nopony will compete. His name is Trouble Shoes. And he's a real menace to Appleloosa."
"I have a feeling that there's more to the story about this guy," M.C. said to him. "The worst thing you would have to worry about is arresting a man for being a klutz without question."
"No way," said the sheriff. "That would never happen."
"It could happen," said M.C. "Some law enforcers just don't want to listen to the truth about what happened. Back in my time, a few innocent men were framed by a shapeshifter. Those kinds of cops were so much more bullheaded than an actual bull. Anyway, I'm gonna head off."
He then walked up to the rest of us, and we headed off.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
That night, I had the kids put to bed. They were really excited about something. Mutt and I stayed behind in the guest house with Braeburn for extra precaution. I didn't hear any commotion in the room where Josh and the girls were staying, so I sneaked a peak inside, to find out that they were gone.
"Uh oh," I said. I then walked over to Braeburn, and shook him awake. He then woke up, quickly shocked. "Braeburn, it's me. Bad news, dude."
"What is it?" he asked me.
"The kids are gone," I said to him.
"WHAT?!" Braeburn shouted. "We gotta tell Applejack and the sheriff."
"You go alert Applejack," I said to him. "Mutt and I will go find them."
"Let's do this," said Mutt, putting his hat on. Then the three of us headed in different directions.
It was pouring down hard, and Mutt and I followed the trail of Joshua and his friends. Luckily for me, with this self replicating nano-tech in my glove and the tracking devices I make with it, I'm able to track them with the tracking device I had installed in the locket around Joshua's neck. We were walking at a slow pace for Applejack and the authorities to follow.
Just then, Applejack's voice called out, "Look! There's M.C. and Mutt!"
We saw the group run up to us. I said to them, "I was wondering when you'd catch up."
"Any sign of them?" Applejack asked.
"Just their hoof prints," I said to them. "But, the tracking device I had put into Joshua's locket will lead us straight to them."
"I wonder what is going on out there with them," said Mutt. "It's not like the tracking device has a microphone."
"Oh, wait a minute, it does," I said in realization. I pushed a button on my right glove and said, "Activating monitor mode."
As we were listening to what was going on, there was the sound of things crashing and yells of pain being called out. None of the yells of pain belonged to the fillies or Joshua. In fact, it sounded like a male grown up.
"Trouble Shoes?" said the sheriff. "Those foals have been taken by Trouble Shoes. My guess is they're trying to escape and using whatever's around them as weapons."
"Hello?" Apple Bloom asked from the tracking device. "You alright?"
"Surely," came Trouble Shoes voice.
"We didn't mean no harm," Apple Bloom said apologetically. "We just came in here to get out of the rain."
"Had some hot apple cider a-cookin' in the kitchen," said Trouble Shoes. "Doubt it survived." Then a clank sound went off as he finished that sentence. "I ain't gonna rise to greet y'all. Awfully rude, I reckon, but as you can see, I'm the fresh casualty of an unusual circumstance. My lot in life."
"Are you Trouble Shoes?" Joshua asked.
"That's me," said Trouble Shoes.
"Actually, by the looks of what was going on, you seem to be klutzy than... what's the word?" Joshua asked, snapping his fingers.
"Destructive?" Dinky asked.
"Yeah, that's it," said Joshua.
"I agree with my brother and Dinky," said Nyx. "Are you really klutzy, and accidentally ruined the rodeo?"
"It's true," said Trouble Shoes after sighing. "When I was a colt, I wanted to be a rodeo star somethin' fierce, but I just didn't seem to have the knack for it. I practiced and practiced... And finally, I wrangled up the guts to audition for rodeo school. Right in the middle of that tryout, I knew I was doin' what I was meant to. And wouldn't you know it? In a flash comes this here cutie mark. And that's how everythin' took a turn for the worst. As you can see, my Cutie Mark is of a horseshoe with the ends facing down. And you know what that means. Bad luck. I can still remember them judges a-laughin'. Didn't even finish my routine 'cause right then I knew bad luck was my fate. That fire for rodeo never did leave me, though. Couldn't keep away from 'em. So I'd sneak down and have a look, and wouldn't you know it? Bad luck would strike again. Just my lot in life, I reckon..."
"Wait a minute," I said. "Trouble Shoes wanted to be in the rodeo?"
"He did sound like a klutz from the way he was telling his story," said Mutt.
"Y'all are right," said Applejack. "Which means..."
"He wasn't sabotaging the rodeo," said M.C. "He was wanting to watch it, but he was too much of a klutz and almost ruined the rodeo by accident."
We all then looked at the sheriff, and he grinned nervously. I then pushed a button on my glove and spoke into it.
"Well, Trouble Shoes, you might as well get the entertainment you were wanting," I said into my glove.
"Where did that voice come from? asked Trouble Shoes.
"It sounded like it was coming from Josh's chest," said Scootaloo.
"I'm projecting my voice through a tracking device I installed in Joshua's locket," I said. "By the way, we heard everything since the crashing before you checked on him."
"So, you're not going to arrest Trouble Shoes?" Nyx asked.
"No, but y'all are going to be in trouble for sneakin' out of the house," Applejack said. "C'mon, let's go and get 'em."
"Yeah," I said. Then I had an idea. "Wait a minute. I think I know of a way that Trouble Shoes might be a part of the rodeo."
The next day, during the Rodeo, the huge stallion known as Trouble Shoes was in the rodeo, as a rodeo clown. Everyone was laughing at him, saying he was the best rodeo clown they had ever.
The Sheriff dropped all charges on Trouble Shoes, and allowed him to perform in every rodeo. And as for the kids, they were still in trouble, and their punishment was to clean up all of the mess in the rodeo. It was actually Applejack's idea. Anyway, our trip to Appleloosa was pretty good. No more trouble here.
Well, this was an interesting night. It was the night of the Grand Galloping Gala. M.C., Spike, Mommy and all of her friends were invited, along with some plus ones of theirs. M.C. brought Mutt as his plus one, Mommy and Spike brought me and Nyx, Fluttershy brought a weird yet calm pony named Tree Hugger, Pinkie brought her sister, Maud. And Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were the plus ones of Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash. The night was very boring until Discord showed up with his plus one. A living green blob who was called the Smooze.
The Gala was really boring but when that blob started eating every shiny thing in sight, it was causing trouble and when it was stopped, everypony there was disgusted at the mess they were covered in. But then we were all interrupted by the sound of someone laughing. That someone was M.C. He said that this was the highlight of the night for him, and it started making all of the other ponies laugh. They agreed that it was the highlight of the night.
That night, we all stayed in the castle guest rooms. M.C. and Mutt were in the room next to ours. I was in the bathroom, getting our pajamas on, and then I walked over to the sink so I can brush my teeth. As I finished, I looked back in the mirror and saw someone I never wanted to see again. King Sombra was behind me. I screamed when I saw him. Mommy ran into the bathroom and was surprised to see Sombra in the bathroom with me.
"Sombra!" yelled Twilight. "Get away from my son!"
He chuckled evilly, and said, "Not going to happen, Princess. You don't deserve to have a child like this!" Then black smoke surrounded us, and I blacked out.
(Twilight Sparkle's Point of View)
I couldn't believe it. Sombra had escaped from Tartarus and he's gotten Joshua. Just then, M.C., Mutt, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna and some guards ran into the room.
"What's going on in here?" asked Princess Celestia.
"King Sombra has returned," I told them. "And he's got Joshua. Again."
"What?!" M.C. said in anger.
"Oh, no!" Nyx said. "We have to find him!"
"Luckily, the tracking device I put on him is still installed in that locket, and is still active," I said to him. He then checked some holographic screen coming from his right glove and said, "Looks like he's in a cave east of the Crystal Empire."
"Let's go," said Nyx.
"No no no!" I said to Nyx. "Listen, Nyx, I don't want you to get hurt as well. I'm going to drop you off at your grandparents house and the rest of us are going to the lair of King Sombra to get Joshua back."
"I will let your parents know about what is happening," said Princess Luna. "Then, I'll meet you there as soon as I can."
We all agreed and headed off to save Joshua.
I gathered my friends, and us and the princesses headed towards the Frozen North. We also had Spike tell Cadance and Shining about what is going on. We met at the Crystal Empire in the morning, and headed off towards where Joshua's location is. M.C. lead the way, and we headed up one mountain.
"Are you sure this is where Joshua is?" Rainbow asked.
"Positive," said M.C. "And if my tracking device is buggy, I can still follow Joshua's scent." He then looked up at the cave entrance, and pointed at it. "Joshua's in that cave right there. Let's go."
We all then rushed towards the cave and went in. Hopefully Joshua was okay.
(Joshua's Point of View)
I woke up groaning. My fingers and toes felt numb. I don't know what happened, but I woke up in a cave with black crystals as bars on a jail cell. I saw that King Sombra was watching me, and he smirked at me.
"About time you woke up," said King Sombra. "And now that I have you back in my clutches, I will not release you until I have Equestria for myself. And nothing can stop me."
"You'll won't get away with this," I said to him. "Mommy and her friends will save me."
He chuckled in amusement and said, "You really think you'll be saved this time? You're nothing but a worthless child with nopony that really loves you. And if you do get out of here..." He then smiled evilly. "Well, at least you'll fit in with the ponies now."
"Huh?" I asked. "What do you..." I was about to point at him until I saw that my hand was now a hoof, and my pajamas were stretched and torn. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! NOOO!! NO NO NO NO NO NOOO!!!"
"Enjoy it while it lasts," said King Sombra. "There is no way to reverse the transformation. You're stuck here, like that, forever. I'll be back to take you and to show what happens to those who oppose me." He then walked away.
I was crying. He turned me into a pony... again. He must be lying. I don't want to be stuck as a pony for the rest of my life. I need to get out of here. I looked down and saw that the locket my mommy from Earth gave me was on the floor. It the chain was snapped. It was hard picking it up with my hoof, so I used my magic and put it in my hooves. I hope M.C. could hear me.
"Hello?" I asked. "M.C., are you there?"
"Joshua? Are you okay?" M.C.'s voice asked.
"I'm okay, but, at the same time, I'm not okay..." I said to him.
"What happened?" Mommy asked through the locket.
"Mommy, he did it to me again," I said. "I'm a pony again."
"What?!" called out Mommy, M.C. and their friends.
"King Sombra is going to pay for doing that again," said Princess Celestia. "We're coming. Don't worry, we're actually closer than you think."
"Hurry!" I said to them.
(Twilight's Point of View)
I couldn't believe it. Sombra turned my son into a pony again. He is going to pay for doing that to Joshua. We all came charging towards the cave, searching for Joshua. But then we were stopped by King Sombra.
"How?! How did you find me so fast?!" he asked, furiously.
"You'd be surprised on what you're dealing with," M.C. said to him. "Time to take you down."
"What are you?!" King Sombra asked M.C.
"Your worst nightmare," M.C. responded. "Go get Joshua. I'll keep this palooka busy. Go."
Then the rest of us went around King Sombra. But he had other ideas. "Oh, no you don't!" He blocked our paths with black crystals. But then they went back down into the ground. "What?!"
"It's called Materiokinesis," M.C. said to him. "I'm basically in control of the entire planet. The smoky king of fear against the aggressive prince of the planet. Prepare to go down!"
Then the two of them yelled at each other and started battling. While the two of them were, we headed down the cave, searching for Joshua.
"Joshua! Joshua, where are you?!" I called out to him.
"Mommy! I'm in here!" came Joshua's voice. We all ran towards Joshua and saw him in his pony form, and his pajamas stretched and torn.
"Joshua!" I said to him.
"Mommy!" he said, against the bars.
Mutt walked up to the crystal bars and said, "These crystals don't really feel that strong. I believe they can be broken by heat. Stand back, everyone." He then pulled out something, and cracked it like a whip, and out came a whip of fire.
"Whoa!" said Applejack. "Ah've been told that foals shouldn't play with fire. Let alone fire whips."
"Stand back, Joshua," Mutt said to him. Joshua got to the back wall, and Mutt used the fire whip, and cut through the bars. "Alright, Joshua. Come one."
Joshua ran towards us, grabbed his locket with his teeth, and ran through the hole of the cell. I then grabbed him and hugged him tight.
"Everything's going to be okay, Joshua," I told him. "Let's get out of here."
We all then headed towards the entrance and saw M.C. still fighting King Sombra. King Sombra got the upper hoof, and threw M.C. towards a wall, and buried him in black crystals.
"You... are not... going... anywhere!" said King Sombra. "Equestria... will be mine!"
"Not as long as we're here," I said to him.
"That... will never... hap..." his words were cut off when he was punched into a wall. He looked over at who punched him and was surprised to see M.C. there. "What?! But how?! Those crystals were 100 times stronger than the ones keeping that worthless human in his cell!"
Behind M.C., the crystals that were containing him all went down to very small shards. He then bared his claws and said, "My claws can cut through any solid surface. No matter how strong, thick, or dense the solid is."
"Who... who are you?" asked Sombra.
"I already told you," M.C. said, closing his eyes. When he opened them, they were glowing in a golden aura and his voice was one of a demon's. "I'm your worst nightmare!" M.C. charged up his hands with power.
"What's he doing?" Rarity asked.
"He's going to turn Sombra to stone," said Mutt.
"Not a bad idea," said Princess Celestia. Then she and Luna stood by M.C.'s sides and charged up their horns. And then they all fired at King Sombra, turning him into stone. M.C. then walked up to Sombra, and used his claw to cut off Sombra's horn, and then he crushed it in his hand.
"That was for Joshua," said M.C.
It then went back to Canterlot Castle. Celestia, Luna and I tried using that same spell that was used on Joshua that turned him back into a human. But this time, it wasn't working. No matter what, Joshua just wouldn't change back.
Joshua was crying, not knowing what to do. He was stuck as a pony for the rest of his life. I walked up to him and hugged him tight. I told him, "Everything's going to be alright, Joshua. We'll be there for you. I promise."
Then my friends joined in with the hug. Spike and Nyx got in on the hug, too. I looked over and saw M.C. looking out the balcony, looking north. He was really angry about what happened to Joshua. Before we left the frozen north, he used his matter manipulating powers and made the lair go 1000 feet underground. That was a a fitting punishment for Sombra for what he did to Joshua.
Joshua wouldn't be much into doing things for a while, so I planned on taking Joshua out of school for a week. He deserves to at least get through his depressed state. Spike, Nyx and I will be there to comfort him.
I went to school today without Joshua. He's still upset that he's never going to be a human again. He hasn't left the room we stayed in except to use the bathroom. Aunt Cadance, Uncle Shining and Cousin Guard came here to help out on comforting Joshua. Plus, Shining was helping Joshua how to go to the bathroom like a pony, since he wasn't able to use a toilet as a pony.
I just arrived in school, seeing everypony else in school. I walked up to Cheerilee's desk and handed her a note. She then asked, "Why isn't Joshua going to be at school?"
I bit my lip and said, "Well, something happened to him. Something really bad."
"How bad?" asked Cheerilee.
"King Sombra bad," I said. Everypony then turned towards me. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo knew what was going on.
"Like, what happened?" Diamond Tiara asked.
"What happened to Joshua?" Silver Spoon asked.
I sighed and said, "King Sombra was trying to take over Equestria and he kidnapped Joshua. Twilight and her friends, along with M.C., Mutt, and the princesses, along with uncle Shining and aunt Cadance went to where Sombra's lair was, and rescued Joshua, but there was one major consequence."
"What is it?" Dinky asked.
"Joshua's humanity has been permanently taken away," I said. "He's stuck as a pony for the rest of his life."
"Oh, no!" said most of the students and Cheerilee.
"Well, I can honestly see why Joshua didn't come to school today," said Cheerilee. "It be really upsetting for him, being in an unfamiliar body."
"Well, Joshua has been turned into a pony before," I said. "But we cured him then, but now, it's permanent. He can't be turned back into a human."
"Well," said Cheerilee. "We should at least go and see how he's doing. Class, surprise field trip to the castle."
Everypony in class nodded, and we grabbed our bags and headed out. I led them towards the Castle, and everypony wanting to cheer up Joshua.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
I was balancing on the top of the castle's highest point. I was keeping all distractions out. I finished what I was doing, and I looked down. There, I saw Nyx's entire class coming towards the castle. The teacher in the group came to the front with Nyx. I then jumped down and landed in front of the door, with a cool action pose. Don't try this at home.
I asked the group, "What's going on?"
"Hello there," said the teacher. "I'm Cheerilee, and Nyx told the entire class what has happened to Joshua, and we all wanted to check up on him."
I smiled and said, "Well, at least you all will be here to support him. He needs all the help from friends he can get. C'mon in."
Then all of the school foals and the teacher walked in. Nyx lead them to the room she and Joshua share. There, laying down on the bed, back faced towards the door, was Joshua. He was still distraught about what happened.
"Joshua," Nyx said. "Everypony in class wanted to check up on you."
Joshua sat up, and turned his head towards the door. Joshua then tried to safely get down from the bed, but he fell and landed on his chin.
"Ow!" he said. He then sighed.
"Guess he's not used to being a pony," said Silver Spoon.
"A human's center of gravity is far different than a ponies," I said to him. "He's been used to be walking on two legs, he's not really used to being a pony. Balance is everything when you're doing something."
"You're right about that," said the teacher. "By the way, my name is Cheerilee. I'm the teacher at the Ponyville Schoolhouse."
"A pleasure," I said. I then walked up to Joshua and got him back on his hooves. He was having trouble maintaining balance. "Let's focus on maintaining balance, Josh. Spread your hooves out a little bit, and try to walk."
"Okay," Josh said. He then tried walking towards the group. He almost lost balance, but he had some help from Sweetie Belle and Dinky. "Thanks, girls."
"Keep working on your balance, kid," I said to him. "I need to have a talk with your mom." I headed out of the room, and walked down the hall.
(Joshua's Point of View)
I was still having trouble with walking like a pony, and keeping my balance. Luckily, my friends were helping me out. I then tried talking down some stairs. If I tripped and fell, luckily my friends would be there to catch me if I trip and fall. I had almost tripped a little, but after about thirty times, I was able to go up and down the stairs without losing my balance.
"Good job, little brother," Nyx said to me.
"Yeah," said Scootaloo. "I believe you have mastered pony balance."
"I totally agree," said Diamond Tiara. "You might have not been born a pony, but you're already getting used to it. Pony or not, you'll always fit in."
I smiled and then, I looked down at my hooves, and then I frowned.
"What's wrong?" Cheerilee asked me.
"Well, usually when I'm writing or drawing, I had fingers to do it," I said. "But, now..."
"Well, there are other ways for you to do that," said Apple Bloom. "And Ah doubt that you'll wanna do some writing with your mouth. That might be a whole lot harder."
Everypony nodded, including me.
"Hey, wait a minute," said Snips. "He's a unicorn. He could just use magic to write."
"Oh, that's right," said Cheerilee. "Good call, Snips. Perhaps, you'll be able to learn how to write with your magic with some help from your mother."
I looked at the ground, thinking about that. Mommy could be able to help me with learning to write with my magic. I'll go ask her.
"Well, I'm gonna go ask Mommy for help," I said to them.
"Alright, then," Cheerilee said. "Class dismissed. And I will all let you go out for the rest of the day. Go on to your homes."
Then all of the other fillies and colts in my class headed out the door. Except for Nyx since she's my sister. We walked into the throne room and saw Mommy and M.C. at the table in the throne room. It looks like they were doing something.
"Just in time," said M.C. "We just finished up."
"Finished with what?" I asked.
Mommy then levitated something towards me. It was my locket my parents gave me before they died. I was surprised to see it fixed. And I think the chain is longer.
"My... my locket?" I asked.
"We thought you'd still want it when your birth parents aren't with you, and you needed something to remind you of them," Mommy said. "Also, is it true that M.C. took that picture in your locket?"
"Yes," I said. "Yes it is."
"Told ya," M.C. said, smirking.
"Well, at least you're in a better mood now," Mommy said to me.
"Yeah," I said. "But, there is one more thing I need to do."
"And what's that?" Mommy asked me.
(M.C.'s point of View)
It was really hard for Joshua to get it. Sparkles and her entire family were trying to teach Joshua how to use his magic to write. All of them had different ways of teaching them, including Twilight's parents. None of them succeeded. I was watching all their attempts.
"We tried everything," said Twilight. "Guess Joshua won't be able to learn how to. He can barely levitate it with his horn."
"You got to be kidding me," I said. They all looked at me with curiosity. Except for Twilight, she gave an angry face.
"Oh, and you can do better?" she asked. "You're not even a pony."
"No," I said. "But, I do know what he can do to be able to use it."
"Well, what is it?" Twilight asked.
"It's similar to how I started using my materiokinesis," I said. "At first I thought it was all about anger, and how I wanted to take down my enemies. But, I learned a few months later that it wasn't about anger at all. I started thinking of all of the good memories I had. All the loving memories, all the children I helped saved, helping orphans get proper homes. It turns out... that was the key to my powers. Not anger, vengeance or grief, but heart, care and avenging all of those lost something important to them or being treated badly."
I saw them all thinking about what I just said. They all smiled. Joshua then closed his eyes, and I believe he was focusing on all of the good memories he had. His horn then lit up, and it grabbed the stack of books on the table.
"And that's how it's done," I said. "Joshua, you can open your eyes."
He opened his eyes, and was amazed at what he saw. He was levitating the stack of books on the table. He smiled and said, "I'm... I'm doing it. I'm really doing it."
"Good job, little brother," said Nyx.
"Yeah," said Spike. "How about you try some writing?"
Joshua nodded. He then looked over at me and said, "Thank you, M.C.!"
"You're welcome," I said. Joshua then started using his magic to write. He was a fast learner. Basically, he was already good with his writing skills as a pony.
"This is amazing!" said Joshua.
Then Shining Armor walked up to me and said, "You did good work, M.C. You're such a good friend to Joshua."
"Yes," I said. "He deserves to be able to his new horizons. I'm surprised that Pinkie isn't here. Isn't that mare able to throw parties for any reason, even if there is no reason?"
"Yes," said Twilight, "but she and Rainbow Dash are out of town for a friendship problem to solve. Although, you are right. We should celebrate Joshua learning how to use his magic."
"I'm gonna head over to Sugarcube Corner, and pick up a huge chocolate cake and... five large apple pies," I said.
"Good call," said Twilight. "You and I will go onto Sugarcube Corner and pick up the deserts. Joshua, how about you work on your homework with your sister."
Joshua nodded and then he and Nyx went off to their room. We then headed off to Sugarcube Corner so we could get a sweet desert for celebrating Joshua being able to use magic to write.
These last few weeks have been eventful. Especially this last week when Mommy got three events to do in one week. Must've been hard for her to watch over me and Nyx, along with doing princess duties.
One night, Nyx and I were sleeping in bed, but we were gently shaken awake. I woke up and saw Mommy standing next to our bed. I then asked, "Mommy? What's going on?"
"Sorry to wake you, but we're going to have to go back to Canterlot for something I now regret," she said. "I'll explain while we get there."
Nyx and I started to get out of bed and followed Mommy to the front door. Spike was there waiting for us. Mommy then used her magic to levitate us, and we all went to Canterlot. We then went into a tower of some kind. Inside, was a huge library.
"What is this place?" I asked.
"We've never been here before," Nyx said.
"This is where I lived before I moved into the library in Ponyville," Mommy said. "My old home." We all looked around. It was a mess. "Well, I thought we cleaned up before we left this place." Mommy then walked over to a book stand where there was one book covered in dust. She then blew the dust off of that book. "Look! It's Predictions and Prophecies! And it's still open to the Elements of Harmony!"
I then walked over to the book, and took a look at it. I heard Spike say, "And here's that present I was gonna give Moon Dancer!" I looked over at Spike and saw him holding an old teddy bear. Then he tossed it aside and said, "Huh. Guess she won't be needing that." He then looked down and said, "Hey, look! The rest of it's still here."
I went back to reading that book when I heard Mommy said, "How could I have let this happen?"
"Come on, Twilight," said Spike. "Princess Celestia gave you an assignment. Nopony could blame you for that."
"But look at the way I left[ this place," said Mommy. "It's a total mess! Just like how I left my friendships." I heard a window being squeaked. "I've got to make it up tooo... uh..."
"Oh!" I heard Spike say. "Uh, Minuette, Twinkleshine, Lemon Hearts, Lyra Heartstrings and Moon Dancer."
"Yeah. Them," Mommy said.
"I thought Minuette was the town dentist in Ponyville," I said to them. "And isn't Lyra in Ponyville as well?"
"He has a point, Twilight," Nyx said.
"Huh," Mommy said. "Weird. Guess I was so busy in Ponyville, I didn't even notice."
I then widened my eyes at what I saw. "Mommy? Have you seen all of the predictions in this book?"
"No, why?" she asked.
"Look at this page," I said. Mommy did and saw that I was in there. Both as human and as a pony.
"Wait, you don't think M.C. and Mutt are in there, too, do you?" I asked.
"Let's see," Mommy said. "Discord's escape, the changeling invasion, the return of the Crystal Empire, the Everfree Forest spreading, Lord Tirek attacking. Oh, here they are. M.C. and Mutt. Weird."
"Who wrote this book?" I asked.
"I don't know," said Mommy. "Guess we'll have to talk to Celestia about this. Now, c'mon, let's get you kids a little more sleep before we head out."
I nodded, and then Nyx and I headed for the bed upstairs. Mommy arrived towards the bed and got in with us. We hugged each other in bed. We all fell asleep later.
We woke up around 8 o'clock this morning. We were about to head out, but there was a knocking on the door. Spike walked over to the door, and we were surprised to see who was at the door.
"M.C.? Mutt?" Spike asked. "What are you two doing here?"
"How did you get here?" Mommy asked. "There's no early train from Ponyville to Canterlot. Plus, the train here would take two and a half hours.
"Super speed," M.C. said, crossing his arms. "I'm surprised Mutt didn't lose his hat we got him a long, long time ago."
"What's going on?" Mutt asked. "Why'd you leave early this morning?"
"Well," said Mommy, rubbing the back of her head. "I came here to Canterlot to amend fences with some of my old friends, but two of them aren't even here. Lyra and Minuette."
"Minuette?" M.C. asked. "Oh, she's here in Canterlot. She wanted to catch up with some old friends as well. Lucky break, huh?"
"Yes!" Mommy said. "Wait a minute, how did you know about that?"
"She told me that when I took Mutt to a dentist appointment last week," M.C. said. "Although, she was a little confused on Mutt's silver filling."
"Silver filling?" Mommy asked.
"He had a little too much Halloween candy," M.C. said. "You know how that is."
"Too much candy is bad for your teeth," said Mommy. "Joshua told me about Halloween before you guys got here."
"Oh, good," M.C. said.
"So, where to, Mommy?" I asked.
"Oh, right," Mommy said. "First, we'll get some breakfast, and then we'll start heading to Minuette. M.C., you know where she is?"
"Yeah," M.C. said. "I do." He then looked over at a book under a chair. "But first, you might want to turn in that library book that you left here years ago."
"WHAT?!" Mommy said in shock. She then ran over to the book under the chair, and saw that it was indeed a library book that she didn't return. "Oh, boy..."
Mommy definitely had a tough day. Three of Mommy's friends were okay with her leaving Canterlot, but one of her old friends, Moon Dancer, was angry at her for not coming to her birthday party on the day before Princess Luna, as Nightmare Moon, came back.
It was getting harder and harder for Moon Dancer to forgive Mommy. She then left. Mommy then sighed and tried to go reason with her. Spike and Nyx followed. Mutt and I were about to follow, but we stopped to look at M.C. He was looking towards one table.
"What's up, M.C.?" Mutt asked.
"I got a weird feeling that we're being followed," M.C. responded. He then looked at us and said, "Do you have that feeling?"
We then looked over at the table M.C. was looking at and saw that the mare who was sitting there was gone, and the chair she was sitting in was wobbling, proving that the mare who was sitting there ran off.
"That was weird," I said. M.C. then walked up to the chair, and started smelling it. I was confused at what he was doing.
"What... are you doing?" Minuette asked walking up to him.
"Picking up the recent scent," M.C. said. "I'm able to remember a scent easily. Hmm. Whoever this pony was, it smells like she has a grudge."
"Who would have a grudge against Mommy?" I asked.
"Don't know," said M.C.
"Maybe it's a recent villain your mom faced," Mutt said to me. "No way Sombra would be behind this."
"Nope," said M.C. "This scent is female. Sombra is clearly a dude, and he was turned to stone, and I buried him deep underground in the Frozen North."
"By the way, I've been meaning to ask," I said. "How were you able to walk around the cold without freezing?"
"I was trained to survive all of the planet's natural elements," M.C. said. "I've been baked, boiled, frozen, submerged, and covered in cement. I passed all with flying colors."
"Do you think we should tell Twilight?" Mutt asked.
"Perhaps we should wait until this problem Twilight has to handle is done," said M.C. "C'mon. Let's go catch up with her."
Then the rest of us headed off.
The next day, Mommy went back to Ponyville to bring Pinkie here to recreate the party that Twilight missed and tried making up with Moon Dancer. But, it didn't exactly work out in the beginning. Moon Dancer wasn't okay at first, but she was able to forgive Mommy for not showing up to her birthday party that one day.
We were all having some cake and were having some fun times.
"That was an emotional day," said Mutt.
"Yeah," said Nyx. "Things have been going up and down, but luckily, it'll be better from now on."
"You can count on it," said Mommy. We all raised our drinks and tapped them together.
"I've seen a lot of emotional issues back in my time," M.C. said, "but I've never seen one solved that fast."
"Guess that is how things are now, Mikey," I said, smirking. Then I regretted it, when he got a devious look on his face. He then smiled.
"Hey, Sparkles," M.C. said to Mommy. "Is Joshua still... ticklish."
I then started running in fear, and hearing Mommy said, "Does that answer your question?" I could then hear M.C. laughing, and he used his super speed and tackled me. He then started tickling me like crazy. I couldn't help but laughing. It was too much for me. That's what I get for calling M.C. Mikey."
On the train back to Ponyville, M.C. told Mommy and Pinkie what happened at the restaurant the other night. They were surprised to know that somepony was spying on us.
"Are you sure?" Mommy asked. "She could've just been a fan of me. You know how much I'm famous."
"I know," said M.C., "but it's true. Specifically, I think that mare was following you."
"Well, did you get a good look at this pony?" Pinkie asked. We all looked at Pinkie with confusion. She then said, "What? I can be serious sometimes."
"Well, from the look of her hooves, her coat was a very light purple, and her mane was dark purple with light blue highlights," said M.C. "And I saw her mark, just barely. It was like a glimmer of some kind."
"Light purple coat," Mommy said, with worry rising.
"Purple mane with light blue highlights," Pinkie said in the same tone.
"Glimmer like mark," said Twilight. Her eyes were wide and her pupils shrinking.
"Starlight Glimmer!" the two of them said in unison.
"Who's Starlight Glimmer?" I asked.
"She's a pony who forced an entire village of ponies to give up their Cutie Marks, making them think that Cutie Marks are bad," said Pinkie.
"She tried to make us stay and tried to be one of them," said Mommy. "She failed."
"That's not right," said Nyx. "Nopony should be able to tell you what you can or can't do."
"I agree," said M.C. "But there's one thing she hasn't accounted on."
"And that is?" Spike asked.
"The mark and your talent doesn't make you who you are," M.C. said. "It's what you choose to do with it. Like me. I make my own destiny."
"Ooh," said Twilight. "Now that's a good lesson. Nyx, maybe you should tell your friends about what M.C. just said."
"Good idea," Nyx said. "I just hope this Starlight doesn't take my talent away."
"We won't let that happen," said M.C. "No matter what."
We all looked out the window, hoping that the worst was behind us.
Last night was basically more troubling than all the other adventures we had. But this was the first adventure me and my friends had in our sleep. Basically, Princess Luna had created a darkness that she never has been forgiven for the actions she has done as Nightmare Moon. The Tantabus is what she called it. But, it broke out of her dream and started splicing itself into other dreams. It turns out that the Tantabus was searching other ponies dreams, looking for somepony else to take over. It was after Nyx, since she was supposed to be Nightmare Moon given a body of her own. But, luckily, Princess Luna had forgiven herself and the Tantabus returned itself back to Luna. Now, everypony could finally dream peacefully.
Now that things have calmed down, we're taking a little break from adventuring for the week. It's been really peaceful. Right now, me, M.C., Mutt, Spike, Nyx and Joshua were in the library. Nyx and Joshua were finishing up their homework. M.C. was reading some mystery novels, most of them written by my mom. Mutt was reading some Daring Do books. I wonder how Mutt will react that the main character of that series is a real pony? Spike was taking a nap as usual, and I was reading the new book my mom recently got out in stores.
Just then, we were interrupted by the sound of whirling. I knew that sound. I looked towards the mirror in the room and saw that it was starting up. M.C. was annoyed and asked, "Do you guys hear something?" Just then something came out of the mirror and hit M.C. in the back of his head. "Ow! What hit me?!"
We looked over at what hit M.C., and saw it was a ball. The same kind of ball in that game I played in that other world. Mutt walked up to it and asked, "A soccer ball? Wait a minute, Equestria doesn't have soccer. But ironically, it does have baseball."
"Oh, I can answer that," I said. "This mirror is actually a portal to another world. It used to open once every 30 moons."
"That's 885 days," said M.C.
"Really?" Twilight asked. "Huh. Well, anyway, once every thirty moons, the portal open and once you go to that world, you'll see a completely different world. Spike and I have been there twice."
"How different?" Joshua asked.
"Well, Joshua," Twilight said nervously. "Remember when I had you and Nyx stay over at your grandparents' house a little longer than usual?" Joshua nodded. "Well, I had to go back to that world to stop a threat to Equestria that was banished there a thousand years ago."
"What threat?" Nyx asked.
"They were sirens," Twilight said. "I thought the sirens were extinct thousands of years ago."
"Wait a second," M.C. said. "Sirens? As in mind controlling sirens that sing and gave off sonic waves that produce negativity? One yellow, one blue and one purple?"
"How do you know about that?" Spike asked.
"M.C. and I have come across them before," said Mutt. "But we were immune to their siren song. To Mobian Dogs, is like nails on a chalkboard."
"And my mind can't be manipulated or altered," M.C. said. "Basically, all telepaths failed to try to take me under." He then looked at the mirror and asked, "Is there anything else we need to know about this world?"
"Oh, yeah," I said. "Basically, that world is inhabited by..." I then gasped in realization.
"Mommy?" Joshua asked me. "Inhabited by what?"
I turned towards Joshua with a huge grin and I finished my sentence. "...humans."
"What?!" Joshua asked.
"Yes," I said. "When I went through, the portal also transformed me into one. I wonder..."
M.C. then looked over at Spike and asked, "What about you? Were you human?"
"No," said Spike. "Instead, I got turned into a dog. And not a bipedal one like Mutt."
I heard laughter come from M.C., Mutt, Nyx and Joshua as I looked at the mirror. I was thinking, Sombra's curse on Joshua would keep him a pony as long as he's in our world. But what happens if we went to that other world? Would it still work?
"Why didn't Twilight's friends come with you two?" Mutt asked.
"Oh, that's because Princess Celestia didn't want us threatening realities on both worlds," said Spike. "Plus, there were human versions of Twilight's friends there."
"Oh, so it's not really a portal to another world," said M.C. "It's a portal to another dimension."
I then groaned and said, "Oh, right. Worlds and Dimensions are two completely different things." I then smiled and said, "Maybe I should take you all to that dimension for a few days."
"Are there motor vehicles?" M.C. asked. "And by that, I mean horseless carriages? And paved roads?"
"Yes," said Twilight. "Basically, almost everything back in your time and Joshua's world."
"Hang on," M.C. said. He then pulled out a miniature horseless carriage.
"What's that?" I asked.
"This is my own truck," M.C. said. "It's like one of those vehicles in the other dimension. Along with this." He pulled off a miniature camper. "Fifth wheel camper. Both of these have been shrunken down thanks to shrinking tech I bought. Expensive, but worth it." He then looked over at Nyx, and was worried. "Does the portal change eye color?"
"No," said Twilight. She then looked over at Nyx and said, "Oh. Right. Nyx, you're gonna have to get your old glasses."
"Okay," said Nyx, running to her room.
"Oh, right," M.C. said. "The enchanted glasses. Good call. Hey, Mutt. How about you go ahead and return that ball? Bring Spike as well."
"Good call," said Spike. "We would have to make sure that the others will be okay with him before the rest of you guys come and follow."
Mutt then grabbed the soccer ball, and then he and Spike got into running position.
"Ready?" Spike asked.
"Yep," said Mutt. Then the two of them headed through the mirror. Nyx then walked back into the room with her enchanted glasses.
"Where did Spike and Mutt go?" she asked.
"They went through the mirror," said M.C. He then looked at his right glove and said, "I wonder if we still got communication. Mutt, you there?"
"I'm here," said Mutt. "Hey, wait a minute. I'm still the same. Oh, and by the way, we've met the human version of the others."
"Wait, the portal didn't transform Mutt?" I asked. "I wonder why."
"Maybe that transformation spell doesn't affect Mobians," M.C. said. "Well, shall we get going?"
"Oh, yeah," said Twilight. "See you on the other side."
Then the four of us went in through the portal.
I feel out of the portal first. I then got tackled by Nyx and Joshua. And I was right. Joshua was human again. Too bad it's only for being in this world instead of back in Equestria.
"Ah yeah," Joshua said. "I'm human again!"
Mutt walked over towards us, and got us up to our feet. Then my human friends, Sunset Shimmer included, walked over and hugged me.
"So, this is Nyx and Joshua," said Sunset Shimmer. "Is it true that he lost his humanity thanks to King Sombra?"
"It's true," I said. Then I noticed that someone was missing. "Wait, where's M.C.?" Then the portal started rippling.
Mutt then shouted, "Get out of the way!" Then everyone got out of the way from the path of the portal. Then something fast in a golden aura came out, and it was heading towards the school, but it turned at a perfect 90 degree angle, and headed for the flagpole, and then it went up to the top of it, and balanced itself. It was M.C.
He chuckled and looked down at the group we had. He then said, "Wow. I've never seen humans with colored skin like that before."
"He's right," said Mutt. "The humans we know usually have the same skin color as Joshua. Sometimes lighter, sometimes darker. It depends on what country they're from."
Joshua nodded in agreement.
"Well, we'll get past that," said Twilight. "But, how about now, we go catch up?"
"Hang on a sec," said M.C., coming down from the flagpole. "Mutt and I need to get into our disguises."
"You have the undercover gear?" Mutt asked. M.C. then threw the miniature camper, and then brought out some keys, and pushed a button on a remote on the key chain and the camper's size went from miniature to normal size. We were all surprised at that.
"Is that shrinking technology?!" Rainbow asked.
"That is super amazing!" said Pinkie Pie in excitement.
M.C. then opened on compartment, and brought out a suitcase. Mutt walked up to him as M.C. opened it up. M.C. handed him something, and Mutt said, "I've always hated this part of the disguise."
Then they put the things over their faces, calling out cries of pain. It turns out they were masks of human faces. M.C. said, "Man, those guys really make irritating masks." Then they grabbed clothes that fit them. M.C. hid his tail under his long-sleeved shirt. Then he put on a button up shirt, and then he put on some underpants and some normal pants. Mutt had taken off his shoulder belt and neckerchief and then he put on some red plaid flannel, and then some jeans and then he put his shoulder belt and neckerchief back on. Then he adjusted his hat to hide his dog ears so they wouldn't be seen. Then M.C. used his power and made a black fedora to hide his ears.
"So," Mutt said. "How do we look?"
"Like normal humans," said Twilight. "So, where should we head off first?"
We headed off to that cafe, known as Sugarcube Cafe. We walked in and went to a long half booth that was there. We all had some milkshakes and caught up with what was going on.
"Friendship Games?" I asked. "What's that?"
"It's supposed to be a friendly competition with our school and another school in the city," said Applejack. "Crystal Prep."
"But they were so focused on winning, they forgot what the Friendship Games were supposed to be about," said Rainbow Dash.
"That have been bragging every time," said Rarity. "Every time, they beat us. And I don't think they have one friendly bone in their body."
M.C. then held out his left hand and said, "Let's see what this Crystal Prep has." A holographic screen came out, and he started mumbling. Then his eyes widened. "Whoa."
"What?" I asked. "Whatcha see?"
"I looked in the faculty of this school," said M.C., "and two of them just caught my eyes."
"Who?" Nyx asked. "Two of them are Cadance and Shining Armor." I widened my eyes and my pupils shrank. How did I not see that coming.
"Who are they?" Fluttershy asked.
"Shining Armor... is Twilight's brother," said Nyx.
"What?!" asked Sunset, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Applejack in unison and shock.
"That means if Shining Armor is there..." said M.C., then he looked back in the holographic screen and saw something. "Oh, look. There she is." He then swiped it, and the phones that the other girls had went off. They took a look at the picture, and were surprised at all. Pinkie Pie showed me and I saw my other self. She was wearing a school uniform, her hair was in a bun, and she had glasses.
"How come she has glasses and you don't?" Nyx asked.
"I don't know, Nyx," I said.
"Perhaps she damaged her retinas when she was younger," said M.C.
"That would make sense," said Joshua.
"How about we go do something to take our mind off of things," asked Rainbow Dash.
"Well, how about we take that camper up to the forest area and do a little campin'?" Applejack asked.
"Might as well pick up some food as well," said M.C. "And you might want to call your parents as well." We all nodded.
Well, the girls got some things for the camp out. Apparently, Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash brought this world's Cutie Mark Crusaders with them, and luckily, Rarity had another RV for those who wouldn't fit in the camper M.C. had. We had a nice camp out. Of course, me, Nyx, Joshua and Sunset Shimmer were vegans there. But the next day, we had to say goodbye to them.
But, when we got home, it seemed that Spike had smuggled home something from the other world. M.C. grabbed it from him and asked, "Spike, you've been smuggling dog treats from there? That would explain that bad breath you had beside the fire."
Spike blushed and looked around nervously, making us all laugh. He then said, "Don't judge me." We all headed in different directions, leaving Spike there with the dog treats. He then said, "I have a problem."
Well, Twilight and Spike had to go to the Crystal Empire to help Cadance and Shining Armor with some visiting dignitaries. That just left me, Mutt, Nyx and Joshua at the castle with nothing to do. I did a mail check, and I saw a letter to a Wonderbolts show in Canterlot, and Rainbow might be a part of the show. So, we got on the train to Canterlot, and we looked for Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts.
But when we got there, it would seem that the Wonderbolts were angry at Rainbow Dash for some reason. We got in on the commotion and I said, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! What the heck is going on?!"
"Well, couldn't you see?" asked an elderly pegasus. "This mare has tricked the leader of the Wonderbolts, Spitfire, into leaving to take care of her sick mother, but her sick mother is here and healthy."
I crossed my arms and said, "Really? Do you really think you can trick me like that? I could smell that lie a mile away."
"Wait, what?" Rainbow asked. "What do you mean that Wind Rider lied? He wouldn't do that. Would he?"
"I can smell a truth from a lie," said M.C. "Let's see what else he's lying about."
"Mind if I join you in the investigation?" I knew that voice. I turned my head and saw Rarity. Oh, right, she just recently opened a boutique here in Canterlot. I nodded and she was ecstatic in helping.
Before we started investigating, we dropped Nyx and Joshua off at their grandparents house. Then we all headed towards the room where Spitfire was staying. It turns out the guards were bribed with a chocolate cake for somepony to deliver something to Spitfire. And we went into the room, and found the letter that Spitfire had.
Wind Rider grabbed the letter and said, "Oh, look inside this envelope. It has rainbow colored hair in it."
I grabbed the hair from him and I said, "I see. But riddle me this. How does one lose a chunk of hair. It didn't fall out. It was cut, and planted."
Rarity started sniffing. She then asked, "What's that smell?"
"Cologne," I said. "Juniper Phoenix is the brand name. But, smelling it in here, it's been in here for hours. And what is Wind Rider's cologne of choice?"
"Juniper Phoenix," said the other Wonderbolts and Rainbow Dash.
"And one more thing," I said, with my eyes glowing in a golden aura. "Nice stain on your scarf." I then quickly pulled the scarf off of Wind Rider and showed the Wonderbolts the chocolate frosting stain. That made everypony in the room gasp, except for Wind Rider.
"Y-you?!" Rainbow Dash asked in shock. "But why?"
"I believe I can answer that," said Rarity. "It was because he was afraid that you would break his long-distance Wonderbolt record! I heard him when Spitfire said you were close to breaking his record. He said, and I quote, 'Heh-heh'. That's the polite but disingenuous laugh you make when you want to seem happy but really you're not."
Wind Rider then groaned and said, "If I could get Rainbow Dash kicked out of the Wonderbolts forever, my record could be preserved."
"But instead, you got careless and tried framing a pony who looked up to you, only to lose your biggest fan," said M.C. "And now, I believe you'll be kicked out of the Wonderbolts when Spitfire hears about this."
"She'll never know the truth," said Wind Rider. "She trusts me completely. Plus, you'll never get find her. I've had Spitfire fly all the way to the Crystal Mountains."
"Rainbow, think you can fly there and back with Spitfire in time for the show?" I asked.
"Duh," said Rainbow Dash. Then she took off towards where Spitfire was.
"In my kingdom, you would be imprisoned for a week for saying 'Duh' to a dignitary or a royal," I said.
"Luckily, that won't happen," said Mutt.
Rainbow Dash has been gone for hours. The rest of us were trying to keep ourselves busy. Mutt and I were doing some burpees. One of the Wonderbolts, Blaze, was keeping her eye out the window.
"Rainbow Dash is still gone!"
"Oh, don't panic," Rarity said walking up to her. "If I know Rainbow Dash, she'll come through."
I then looked towards the door and said, "Oh, look. There she is."
Then the door opened and in came Rainbow Dash and Spitfire. Spitfire was exhausted.
"Spitfire, you're back!" said the Wonderbolt known as Soarin. "I can't believe you made it!"
Still out of breath, she could still speak and said, "I wouldn't have, if Rainbow Dash hadn't found me so fast!"
Well that was an interesting day. Because of the actions of Wind Rider, he was dishonorably discharged and kicked out of the Wonderbolts. Rainbow Dash flew in his place instead, and it was official. Rainbow Dash is now a honest to god Wonderbolt. Me, Mutt, Nyx and Joshua enjoyed the show.
Rarity and I really have saved Rainbow Dash's bacon when it came to that predicament. Rainbow Dash has really earned this. Her friends are going to be excited to know that Rainbow is now an official Rainbow Dash. Especially Pinks.
I was walking through town to get to Sugarcube Corner for some treats. I just hope the Cake Twins weren't in the main room. Today was my day to pick up some snacks for today's Crusading.
"Oh, hello Nyx," said Mrs. Cake. "What are you up to today?"
"Oh, I'm just here to pick up some treats for today's attempt of Crusading," I told her. I then brought out my allowance and said, "I'll take a dozen chocolate chip muffins."
"Alright, dearie," said Mrs. Cake. "Coming right up." She then got out a box and pulled out the muffins for me to take. Since I was the daughter of Twilight, I got a bit of a royal discount. Plus, I'm technically a princess, too.
As I was on my way to the clubhouse, I overheard something. It sounded like scolding.
"Remember, Diamond Tiara, you must win Student Pony President, and feel superior to all those other foals," said that mare to her daughter, who was Diamond Tiara. So that means that mare was Spoiled Rich, and head of the school board. "And if you don't win, you won't have any more visits from that Silver Spoon filly, and you'll be grounded for a month."
"Yes... mother," said Diamond Tiara, sadly. "I'll do my best."
I couldn't believe what I just saw. Diamond Tiara was being forced to win Student Pony President, and she would be punished for not winning? That's foal abuse. As I was heading towards the clubhouse and I saw Twilight and M.C. coming out of the entrance of Sweet Apple Acres. I told them what was going on, and they decided to keep an eye out for Spoiled Rich. I just arrived at the clubhouse, and I saw that the rest of the Crusaders with Pip.
"Hey, guys," I said. "What's going on?"
"Oh, we're gonna help Pip on becoming Student Pony President," said Apple Bloom.
"We might actually get Cutie Marks in Campaign managing," said Sweetie Belle.
"It's gonna be awesome!" said Scootaloo, flapping her wings.
"Ooh," I said. "Remind me to tell you something about that later. Anyway, I got the snacks. Chocolate chip muffins."
"Thanks, Nyx," Joshua said. We all started eating our muffins.
Twist then asked, "What did you want to tell us about earlier?"
"As I was on my way here," I started explaining, "I overheard Diamond Tiara being threatened by her own mom to win Student Pony President, or else she won't let her see Silver Spoon again and be grounded for a month."
"Wow," said Apple Bloom. "Now that's harsh. Ah wouldn't want anypony to be threatened like that."
"Especially if the one being threatened is being done by his or her own parent," said Sweetie Belle.
"We'll see what's up with Diamond Tiara tomorrow," said Scootaloo. "Right now, let's help Pip. And have a snack."
The next day, we went to the school. M.C. was there to watch us vote for who will be Student Pony President. It seemed that M.C. was a little more grumpy than usual. He looked more grumpy than Cranky Doodle Donkey was. He must've found out something.
I saw Diamond Tiara sitting by a tree, rehearsing her speech to win the election. I walked up to her and said, "Diamond, are you okay?"
"Gah!" she shouted in shock. She then said, "Oh, it's just you."
"What has you so jumpy?" I asked her.
She sighed and answered, "Well, I'm supposed to memorize this whole speech so I could win the election. But I'm so nervous. I don't really want to lose."
"Listen, Diamond Tiara," I said to her. "I'll tell you what M.C. said recently to me and my family. The mark doesn't make you who you are. It's what you choose to do. Be you instead of what your mom wants you to be."
Diamond Tiara thought about it. Then she nodded. We then headed towards the schoolhouse entrance. In front of the entrance was a small room where we put our votes. And there was Spoiled Rich. Diamond Tiara was nervous, but I get her a face that might give her some confidence. It worked.
Then she walked up and stood next to Pipsqueak. Then Cheerilee made an announcement. "Alright, class. Now, it's time for the final speeches before we cast the voting. Pipsqueak, Diamond Tiara, which of you would like to go first?" We all looked over at Diamond Tiara and Pipsqueak. Diamond pointed a hoof at Pip. "Alright. Pip, you're up first."
"Well, as you can see, our playground equipment was destroyed by Princess Twilight's battle with Tirek," said Pipsqueak. We all looked at the playground. The playground was in fact, broken.
"That is weird," M.C. said. "How is it that the playground was broken, but not the school."
"Yes," said Cheerilee. "That is weird. Anyway, you were saying, Pip?"
"Well, if I'm voted in as Student Pony President, I'll go to the school board to right this wrong," said Pipsqueak. "By the end of next week, we'll all be playing on some new swing set, a new slide and obstacle coarse, and some balls to replace the old ones."
Then all of the other fillies and colts cheered. I heard Spoiled Rich scoff at that statement. I saw her glare at Diamond Tiara, and it was one of those 'Do what I say' glares. Diamond Tiara got nervous and I gave her a sign to calm down. She nodded at my response and spoke up.
"Alright, everypony," Diamond Tiara said. She held up her notes. "I have a speech that says how much I'm better than all of you." Then she tossed them. "But I'm not gonna read it. Besides, I became a better pony thanks to Joshua. And I've been actually having real fun. But, my mother wants me to feel superior. I'm not going down that path. So, I'm dropping out of the election."
Then Spoiled Rich ran up to Diamond Tiara and announced, "Don't listen to what Diamond Tiara said just now. She doesn't really want to drop out. She'll show you that she can be the better pony than every other pony in the school. And you'll all admire her due to the statue she will leave here with the bits from the school funding."
"Oh, you mean the statue you had pre-made with the bits you took out of the school funding last night?" M.C. asked. He then held out a holographic recording of Spoiled Rich taking the bits from the school funding. Then he fast forwarded it to one pony who was paid with the same bits to make a statue of Diamond Tiara for winning the election.
We all looked at Spoiled Rich in anger. She then said, "Why you little tramp! That wasn't very... Who are you?!"
"I am Prince Michael Crayton," M.C. said. "I came here from ten thousand years in the past, and even I know that using the school funding for buying a statue for your daughter winning the election before the election ended is illegal. The school board will be very upset with this."
"The school board won't believe you," said Spoiled Rich.
"Of course they won't," M.C. said. He then chuckled. "As in of course they won't if they weren't watching from up there." He then pointed on top of the school house."
"WHAT?!" Spoiled Rich exclaimed.
"You're done, Spoiled Rich," said M.C. "You're going to jail."
Then a bunch of royal guards came down with a prison carriage. Spoiled Rich was being pushed into it, as she stated, "NO! This can't be happening! Diamond Tiara, help me!"
"You know what? No," said Diamond Tiara. "You've been pushing me to be like you. Well, I'm not going to be like you. I'm my own pony. I will be telling daddy about what you did. He's going to be very upset."
Then Spoiled Rich gasped, and then she was shoved in, and the carriage door slammed closed. Then the prisoner carriage was being pulled away. The school board came down and walked up to M.C. One of them asked, "How would you like to be a part of the Ponyville Schoolhouse School Board?"
"Meh," he said. "It's not like I have anything else to do. Also, there's one more thing I have to do." He then rushed off.
I then walked up to Diamond Tiara and asked, "Are you going to be okay?"
"Better," said Diamond Tiara. I then looked over and saw that Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Dinky and Joshua were still barren of a Cutie Mark. Even though Joshua was born human, he'll be okay. Guess he will be as much of a pony as much as he can.
M.C. the rushed back. He then saw the other Crusaders were upset.
"What's goin' on?" he asked them.
"Guess we didn't get our marks in campaign managing," said Apple Bloom.
"Really?" M.C. asked. "Mind if you show me your clubhouse?"
We went back to the Clubhouse, and M.C. was looking at the list of things my friends tried to do to get their marks. M.C. put a hand to his chin.
"We've tried basically everything on that list," said Scootaloo. "And we're still blank flanks."
"What do you think you're doing wrong?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"Hm," he said, thinking. "I think you guys have been doing something off when finding your marks."
"What do you mean?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Let me give you an example," M.C. said. "Remember when Trouble Shoes was trying to get himself into the rodeo, and his Cutie Mark appeared when he was a colt. He thought is was nothing but bad luck."
"Oh, that's right," said Sweetie Belle. "He got his Cutie Mark when performing in front of some recruiters. He thought his Cutie Mark meant bad luck, but it really meant that he would be the best rodeo clown in Appleloosa."
"Exactly," said M.C. "Now, imagine that there's this one filly who got a bunch of bones for a Cutie Mark, and the parents are worried that she'll grow up to be a pirate. But she starts digging and finds dinosaur bones. What does that mean?"
"It would mean she's not a pirate," said Scootaloo. "She'd be an archaeologist."
"B-b-b... Bingo!" M.C. said in a completely different voice. I was wondering how he did that, and then I remembered, he can manipulate his own vocal chords and sound like something else. Then he used his real voice. "And now, imagine there's this one blank flank colt who is in a dance class, but he's too afraid to dance in public. What would you do?"
"I'm guessing that we can help him get the confidence to perform on stage," said Dinky.
"And with enough confidence he might be able to do his performance and have fun," said Joshua. "He'll be able to perform without worry."
"And by that," said M.C., "you all will be able to help other ponies find or understand their Cutie Marks."
"He's right," said Apple Bloom. "We're able to help out in a way. Instead of tryin' to find our own marks, we should help other ponies find or understand theirs."
"Agreed," said Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Dinky and Joshua started glowing in a white light. Me, M.C. and Twist had to cover our eyes from how bright it was. The light faded, and we took a look at them. On all five of their flanks, the marks got shield Cutie Marks with the same color, but a different emblem on the inside.
Apple Bloom's mark had an apple with a heart inside the apple. Sweetie Belle's mark has a star with a music note inside. Scootaloo's has a wing with a lightning bolt. Dinky's mark has two dolphins rolling counterclockwise. And Josh, his mark was similar to a shooting star. That makes sense since he traveled a great distance from another world. They looked at their flanks, and were surprised that they finally got their marks.
"We... we got our Cutie Marks!" said Apple Bloom. We all then got in a group hug. Except for M.C.
M.C. held out his right hand and spoke into it. "Mutt, gather Sparkles, AJ, Rainbow, Rares and Derpy and have them meet at Sugarcube Corner."
"What? Why is that?" Mutt asked through the communicator.
"Tell them that there's a surprise for them when I bring the Crusaders over," said M.C.
I was a little confused on what Mutt was wanting to show us. He got me, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity and even Derpy. I don't know why he brought her to with us, but we better wait and see. We arrived at Sugarcube Corner, and waited for something.
"So, why did you bring us here, Mutt?" I asked him.
"I don't know," said Mutt. "M.C. just wanted me to bring you five here."
Just then, we saw the Cutie Mark Crusaders walk in. All of them were wearing their capes.
"Oh, Sweetie Belle," said Rarity.
"Oh, hey Rarity!" said Sweetie Belle. "We got a huge surprise for all of you!"
"What is it?" Rarity asked.
Then M.C. walked in, and leaned on the wall. He then said, "Go ahead. Show them the big surprise."
Then Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Joshua and Dinky pulled off their capes, and on all their flanks were Cutie Marks. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Derpy and I were surprised at we were seeing. They finally got their Cutie Marks. We all got up from our seats and walked over to them.
"Ah don't believe it!" said Applejack. "Ya've finally got your Cutie Marks."
"Nice job, squirt!" said Rainbow Dash, rubbing Scootaloo's mane.
"But... how?" I asked.
"I'll tell you," said M.C. "I just gave them a little push into thinking that they should stop trying to find their marks, and help other ponies find or understand their marks."
"That's great!" said Twilight. "I can't wait to tell my family about this."
"Did I just hear that the Cutie Mark Crusaders got their Cutie Marks?!" came Pinkie's voice. We all looked at the doors to the kitchen and saw Pinkie Pie hanging out. "OH MY GOSH! It's time for a Cute-ceañera!" Then she rushed upstairs.
"A Cute-cean what?" M.C., Mutt and Joshua asked in unison.
"It's a huge party when a young colt or filly gets his or her Cutie Mark," said Rainbow Dash.
"It's a tradition here in Equestria," said Rarity.
"Sounds cool," said Mutt.
"Indeed," said Rainbow Dash.
We then saw Derpy and Dinky hugging. I could tell that she was proud that Dinky got her Cutie Mark. I then asked up the stairs, "When will the Cute-ceañera be, Pinkie?"
"I'll be glad to do it on Sunday if you'd like!" said Pinkie Pie from upstairs.
"Sounds good!" I called up to her. I then walked out with Nyx and Joshua, and we headed home. When I got home, I started writing a couple letters. One for my parents, and one for my brother and Cadance. They were going to be impressed that, even though he lost his humanity, Joshua got his Cutie Mark.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
Sunday morning came. Twilight's parents came in last night and they saw Joshua's Cutie Mark. Cadance and Shining Armor will be here this afternoon. Just in time for the party to start. We were going to have the Cute-ceañera in Sugarcube Corner. Twilight Velvet decided to make us all some breakfast. I offered to help out, and she allowed it.
"Thanks for offering to help out with the cooking, Mr. Crayton," she said to me.
"Technically, I'm a prince," I said. "But, you can just call me M.C." I then thought of something. "Did you really show Nyx your family photo album when the rest of the family was out?"
"Yes," Velvet said. "I was having such a spiral since the night before that day. But when Nyx came in with my lunch, I was a little worried, but relieved that she was bringing me lunch. I was still a little worried that Twilight was a little young to raise a filly that... well..."
"Biologically old when she really was an almost one year old due to her chronological age?" I asked.
"Exactly," said Velvet. "But she is a sweet filly. Even if she did a little bit of trouble in the past."
"It wasn't her fault," I said to her. "Twilight said it was the leftover darkness of Nightmare Moon that caused all of those ponies to form a cult and try to reincarnate Nightmare Moon in a body of her own. But there can never be a Nightmare Moon without Luna. Basically, Nightmare Moon was a puzzle. If you don't have all the pieces..."
"It not really finished," said Velvet. "So that's why she was merciful when she was a grown mare. She didn't let anypony want Twilight or her friends executed, she let her three little filly friends go, and she released all of the ponies who were put under that curse."
I then scraped out some hash browns from the griddle.
"What's that?" Velvet asked.
"Hash browns," I said. "They're shredded potatoes, with salt and pepper, meshed together, and griddled with a nice golden brown look."
"Sounds good," said Twilight Velvet. "Now, let's get these to the dining room. C'mon. Hup, one. Hup, two. Hup, three."
I chuckled at that remark. I like her. She's actually kinda funny. We went into the dining room and we all had our breakfast. We were going to have to wait a couple hours for the party to start. It was pretty boring until then.
Well, Cadance, Shining Armor and Guard Armor arrived in Ponyville and we all headed for the party. We arrived there, and all of the ponies were there that all of the members of the Cutie Mark Crusaders have their Cutie Marks. Shining Armor was a little concerned that Joshua getting a Cutie Mark would remind him that he'll never be human again. But, Joshua accepted it, and just headed off to play with his friends.
I noticed that Cadance was at the snack table. She seemed to be eating a lot more than usual. I then walked over to her and said, "Whatcha up to?"
"Oh," Cadance said in shock. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm just a little hungry."
"A little?" I asked. "You've eaten more than half of everything on the table."
"More food coming right up!" came Pinkie Pie. She rushed in, brought in more food and rushed back into the kitchen.
I faced her and asked, "Seriously, what is going on?" She then moved her eye from left to right. She then motioned a hoof to whisper something into my ear. I walked over and leaned my head towards her, then she whispered something into my ear. I smirked and then chuckled. "That's some big news."
"Yes," said Cadance. "And I would like to keep this a secret for later."
"My lips are sealed," M.C. said. "I'll also promise that I won't spill the beans until you tell the news to Twilight yourself."
"I appreciate that," said Cadance. "Let's enjoy the party."
We then walked over to the Cutie Mark Crusaders and saw that they were talking. But it seemed that one of the fillies in the group, Twist, was upset about something. Nyx noticed it as well and walked up to her.
"Is something wrong, Twist?" Nyx asked.
Twist sighed. She was upset about something.
"What's wrong?" Nyx asked.
"Well," Twist started. "My parents are starting to open a thweet shop in Manehattan."
"Well, what's the problem with that?" Apple Bloom asked as she and the others walked up to her.
"I have to move," said Twist.
"WHAT?!" asked the Crusaders.
"But, what about us?" Scootaloo asked. "Crusaders must stick together."
"I know, but..." she said. "There's nothing I can do to thtop it. I'm thorry, girls. And Josh. But, I'm really going to mith you when I go."
The Crusaders gave Twist one last hug. Apple Bloom said, "Well, we are going to miss you, Twist. Perhaps we can trade letters to catch up. Also, mah cousin Babs Seed lives in Manehattan. She might help ya fit in."
"Oh, that's right," said Twist. "I almotht forgot about her. The latht time I saw her was when we got Josh and Dinky under the mistletoe."
That last comment made Josh and Dinky bush. I laughed at that, and said, "You got caught under the mistletoe with Dinky? That is hilarious!" I was then pounded in the chest by Twilight and Shining Armor and I landed on my back and tail. "Ow." I then got up and said, "Huh. It actually hurt more when Sparkles pushed me. I mean Shining Armor has the muscles. How come she hurt me more than him?"
"Oh, right," said Cadance. "Alicorns have all three pony types and their abilities. Magical horn, wings and strength."
"Wow," said M.C. "Ya couldn't have told me sooner?"
"I guess we were all occupied at the time," said Twilight. "Now, let's enjoy the party."
(Nyx's Point of View)
It's been a couple days since the Cute-ceañera. We were at the Train Station to see Twist go off. We all gave her one last group hug. She then went onto the train. Hopefully, she'll be able to move back to Ponyville when she grows up.
Twilight and Applejack walked up to us and Twilight asked, "Are you girls going to be okay?"
"I hope so," I said. "Twist was also one of my first friends when I started school."
"We can go visit her, or she can come back and visit us," said Apple Bloom. "Even if we're far away, we'll still be a team."
"That's the spirit, Apple Bloom," said Applejack. "Perhaps the next time we go to Manehattan, we'll take you girls with us, and you can go visit her at her parents new sweet shop."
"Yeah," said Apple Bloom. "That would be a good surprise for her."
We all looked down the rails to see Twist's train off. It was going to be a while until we see Twist.
Today, was kind of a weird day at school. Pinkie Pie was there handing out balloon animals. That's not unusual. She loves doing that. But one thing was weird about it. Nyx got a phoenix balloon animal. I asked for a dragon balloon animal. Dinky asked for a dolphin. Sweetie Belle got a flamingo. Apple Bloom got a goldfish. But when Scootaloo came in line, she wanted Pinkie to surprise her.
Pinkie Pie started making it, but she got a little distracted by a mare and her baby passing by. But she finished her crafting without even realizing. She then was called back by the sound of Scootaloo talking. "Is that a baby bottle?"
She then looked at what she made and she screamed. She then grabbed it and said, "No! It's a... a... puppy! Ha ha, woof woof, ha ha! Eh..."
"Are you sure?" Scootaloo asked. "Because it looks like a..." She was interrupted when Pinkie Pie shoved that balloon baby bottle into Scootaloo's mouth.
She then called out, "Next!"
Then Featherweight walked up and said, "Uh, a baby pony, please! Uh, unless of course that would be a royal pain..."
Pinkie Pie then got in his face and said, "Interesting choice of words, Featherweight."
"Was it?" Featherweight asked.
"I don't know," Pinkie Pie said pouting angrily. "Was it?"
Featherweight decided to break the awkwardness by saying, "Um, maybe you'd better just make me a giraffe."
That was the weirdest thing I've seen Pinkie Pie ever done. And I've seen a lot of weird things while I was here. I decided to head on home after what Pinkie was worrying about. She seems to be worrying about something.
I told M.C. and Mutt about what happened at school. Once I finished they spoke up.
"That is pretty odd of what Pinkie Pie was freaking out," said Mutt.
"Oh, I think I know what's going on," M.C. said. "But, I'm not going to tell. I'm going to go find her and talk to her."
"I'll come, too," said Mutt.
"Sorry, Mutt," M.C. said. "But I'm going to have to go solo on this once."
"C'mon, M.C.," said Mutt, trying to stay with M.C. "You can't just..." M.C. pinched Mutt's nose and neck, and Mutt fell asleep. M.C. grabbed him and put him on his bed.
"What did you do to him?" Joshua asked. "I just have to have a private conversation with Pinkie. I don't want anyone else listening in."
"C'mon, M.C.," I said. "We could help with..."
"I don't want any more excuses," said M.C. He did the same thing that he used on Mutt and did it to me. I blacked out.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
I was looking through town, looking for Pinkie. But then I got ran over by somepony. Thankfully, it was the pony I was looking for.
"Pi-i-i-inkie!" I said, while hanging onto her. She then stopped and ran into an alley.
"Sorry, M.C.," said Pinkie Pie worriedly. "But I can't talk. I have to..."
I closed her muzzle and said, "Pinkie. I know the secret you know."
She then got in my face and said, "Are you sure?" I then whispered it into her ear, and she went wide eyed. She then clenched her teeth and looked from side to side with her eyes.
"Pinks," I told her. "Cadance told me not to tell anypony. I'm guessing that you found out when she made that special order for when she comes back here to Ponyville, right?"
"Yes," said Pinkie Pie in shame.
"Don't be ashamed," I told her. "Right now, we just got to keep it a secret until the right time."
"But what if I'm getting pushed to spill the beans?" Pinkie asked. Then she bumped into a trash can full of dried beans. Where's a rim shot when you need it?
I shook my head and held in a laugh. I then said, "We'll think of something. Perhaps you should say something that doesn't make sense. "Well, right now. We better get back to the castle. Twilight has something to say to all of us."
"Right," said Pinkie. "Oh, I'm supposed to pick up something for when Cadance and Shining Armor arrive."
"Alright, you go," I said. "I'll head back to the castle. See you there." I then used my super speed and rushed back towards the castle. This is going to be interesting.
(Joshua's Point of View)
I was being shaken. I opened up, and I saw Mommy in front of me. It was blurry, but I could hear and see her.
"Wake up, Josh. Wake up. C'mon, Josh."
I groaned and rubbed my head with a hoof. "Mommy?"
"Are you okay?" Mommy asked.
"I'm... I'm okay," I said. "But what happened? I remember talking with M.C. and Mutt and... for some reason he wanted to speak with Pinkie Pie alone. Mutt and I tried to follow him, but he... he pinched my nose and my chin and I blacked out."
"Uhhh..." said Mutt. "Sounds like he got us with the sleep of the striking cobra. Pinch two nerves on a figure's body, it'll make them fall asleep."
"Why would M.C. do that?" Mommy asked.
"I guess that's what we get for trying to get into a private conversation," said Mutt. "Next time he says he wants a private conversation with someone, don't interfere."
"I'll have a talk with him later," said Mommy. "Right now, let's get to the throne room." Mommy then levitated me and Mutt onto her back. She then walked through the castle hallway, and towards the throne room.
Mommy and her friends were all cleaning up the throne room. Nyx and I were waiting for Pinkie to arrive here. We saw her coming down the hall with two vegetarian platters. She had one platter on her head and the other platter was being carried in her left forehoof.
Nyx then opened the door and called out, "Twilight, Pinkie's here with the platters."
Then Pinkie Pie walked in and saw Mommy and her friends cleaning up the place. We followed her inside. Mommy used her magic and said, "Those look yummy, Pinkie! Let me help you! But we better cover them up so they don't get spoiled."
"Why would they get spoiled?" Pinkie asked. "We're all gonna eat them super soon!"
(M.C.'s Point of View)
I walked into the throne room, and saw that Pinkie Pie was being pressured. Her friends were trying to get Pinkie to spill the beans. I had no choice but to use my Super Warp Ring. And if you don't know what that is, it's a special ring that can take you anywhere, and can be used more than once. All you have to do is focus on that location. Right now, I focused on Cadance and Shining Armor, and I opened a portal to where they were. It was in the Crystal Empire, and Cadance, Shining Armor and Guard were ready to leave until they saw my ring.
"What the...?" Shining asked until he saw me. "M.C.? What are you...?"
"Pinkie knows," I told him. "You guys better hurry. The others are about to make he burst like a balloon being hit by a dart."
Then they hurried through the ring, grabbing their luggage, and headed for the throne room of the castle. Just in time to. Because Pinkie was about to say it.
"Okay, okay, you win!" Pinkie Pie shouted from the roots of the Golden Oaks Library on the ceiling. "Shining Armor and Cadance are gonna have a...!"
"An awesome weekend with the best little sister in all of Equestria!" Shining Armor announced, making everypony turn their heads to the door.
Cadance giggled and said, "Hi, everypony."
Outside, I was surprised they made it. At the same time, Pinkie and I exhaled. But, I wasn't the one who fell from the ceiling. I heard her crash onto the table and I said, "That had to hurt."
Last night was a bit of a hassle. Twilight scolded me for putting Joshua to sleep. She wanted me to tell what I wasn't supposed to tell. But then I I used my matter manipulating powers on myself, and zipped my lips shut, and locked it. She was irritated by that. Meanwhile, we were on a scavenger hunt set up by Shining Armor. Twilight says that he used to do that with her when they were younger.
We walked around Ponyville. It would seem that the scavenger hunt had a theme. A theme that Pinkie and I knew what was up. So, we went along with it, but kept it a secret. We first found the first clue at the fountain in front of town hall. The next clue we found in a copy of the Foalfree Press, specifically, there was one printed specifically for Twilight. Then we found the next clue on the back of Applejack's Birth Certificate. Applejack was a little embarrassed when Twilight and Fluttershy laughed at the baby picture. She turned it to show Twilight the clue on the back of it. And then we went to the furniture store. Twilight was confused on the last clue, but Pinkie rushed in and brought out the last clue. We then headed into Sugarcube Corner. Me, Twilight and her friends, Mutt, Spike, Nyx and Joshua.
"Surprise!" said Shining Armor while we walked in. Shining and Cadance were excited to tell Twilight their surprise. It seems that guard was in on it, too. Shining then walked up to Twilight and asked, "Twylie, did you like the scavenger hunt?"
"It was perfect!" said Twilight. "Just like old times, except even better because this time I got to share it with my best friends!" She then looked around. "There's just one thing missing, isn't there?"
"What's that?" Shining asked.
"Mmmm, the book prize at the end!" Twilight said excitedly.
Shining Armor just laughed and said, "There's still a prize, but it's a little different this time."
Twilight was a little confused. She then walked around and said, "Oh. I don't understand." I could swear I could hear Pinkie giggle a little. Who would blame her?
"All of the places we sent you today had something in common," said Cadance.
Twilight had thought about it, and Pinkie Pie was desperately trying to hold in that secret. "First we went to the schoolhouse... And then we went to the Foal Free Press... After that we found Applejack's birth certificate... And the last clue was under a crib." Pinkie was trying to give off some clues. Two to be specific. Pound and Pumpkin. They were giggling. Good thing they got used to Nyx being a normal filly now, and now they aren't afraid of her. "Hmmm... school... foal... birth certificate... and crib..." She then gasped in realization and asked, "It can't be? Are you two...?! Again?"
"We're having another baby!" Cadance and Shining said in unison. Guard was laughing at what his parents said. Then I unzipped my mouth and Pinkie Pie let it all out.
"Another baby, Twilight!" Pinkie shouted. "It's another baby! Woo-hoo!"
"I've notice the sign at the celebration of the Cutie Mark Crusaders getting their marks," I said. "It's worth it but I'm happy for ya, Sparkles. Plus, that's why I put Mutt and Josh to sleep. To keep the secret a secret until the time."
"Okay, now I understand," said Twilight. "But still, this is the best prize ever!" Cadance and Shining Armor were laughing at what Twilight just said. Twilight ran over to them, hugged them, and said, "Oh, I love you guys! And I can't wait to meet your next foal!" Then she looked towards Guard and said, "How about that, Guard? You get to be a big brother. Isn't that exciting?"
"A wittle," said Guard. That made everypony in the room giggle.
"I did it, I did it, I did it, I did it!" Pinkie said bouncing in circles. But then she froze in mid air and fell apart. Not kidding. but still her right forehoof was raised off the ground and she said, "Go Pinkie." I was laughing so hard, it felt like I was running out of breath.
"Oh, man," I said. "I haven't laughed like this in a long, long time. I haven't laughed like that since I was six. Soon, Pinkie pulled herself together. We were all talking to each other.
Pinkie was finishing up and then Cadance walked up to her with a piece of cake, giggled and asked, "You did it, Pinkie Pie!" The two of them hugged. "You kept it a surprise! Thank you! Was it much trouble?"
"Piece of cake," said Pinkie. She then looked towards somewhere, and shook her head, and I could see that her lips were reading no. What is this, a TV show? If it was, I think she's trying to break fourth wall. She is so random. We then enjoyed the rest of the day.
It was that time of year. Nightmare Night, which means it's this world's version of Halloween. Nyx and I were at Carousel Boutique getting our costumes made. I was going out as Mario again. So my costume had to be adjusted. A lot. Nyx, this time, was going as a night guard. That was a little ironic due to Nyx's story, and because her talent will be protecting Equestria. She looked awesome.
We then headed towards the castle so our friends would be there when we go out for some candy. Too bad this year, Luna won't make it. We then saw M.C. and Mutt heading out with some overalls and some machines on their backs.
"What are you two wearing?" Nyx asked.
"Luna found something in the remains of Nightstone Castle," M.C. said. "Something about a specter with a rainbow tongue and an army of smaller ghosts. I know that ghost. King Boom Boo."
"Wait," said Nyx. "Ghosts are real?!"
"I might not have a proper night sleep," I said.
"And I thought since it was a holiday similar to Halloween, we might as well get some costumes in," said Mutt. "So, I thought we would go as Ghostbusters."
M.C. chuckled and said, "Good thing we have some real ghost catching equipment. This is my usual time to scare the heck out of someone and here I am, busting ghosts. C'mon, Mutt. We got ghosts to bust." Then M.C. pushed a button on his glove and the song "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr. started playing as the two of them headed out.
I started laughing at that. The music was getting quieter and quieter as M.C. and Mutt was getting farther and farther.
Well, that was kind of a let down. It turns out Fluttershy wanted to have some fun during Nightmare Night, but was a little too cautious and scared. But then Fluttershy tried making her own haunted house. It was really sad. I then mentioned that M.C. was really good at scares for Halloween.
"I really hope Fluttershy will get over this," I said.
"I hope you're right, Josh," Mommy said. "Fluttershy just needs some time for herself. Now, aren't you and your friends going out to gather some candy?"
"Oh, right," I said. Nyx and I then ran towards Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Dinky.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
Mutt and I were trying to keep King Boom Boo and his army of ghosts contained. Although, that ghost's laugh was really starting to rattle my chains.
I then had one thing in mind. Use my super speed and create a vacuum. Him and all of his ghost buddies were sucked up, and then Mutt threw in a device that'll lead the ghosts back to the Netherworld where they belong. He then activated it and all of the ghost got sucked into it. When all of them were gone, I stopped running and took in a deep breath.
"Whooo!" I said. "That was more challenging than I thought."
"Yeah," said Mutt. "Good thing we told Celestia and Luna to head back to Canterlot and let us handle it."
Then we heard hoofsteps and we saw Fluttershy walking in.
"Flutters?" I asked. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, I wanted to ask you something," she asked.
"About what?" I asked.
"Can you help me do a little bit of scaring for tonight? Just this once?" Fluttershy asked.
"Seriously?" I asked. "Are you sure?" Fluttershy responded nodding. It seemed that Fluttershy's pet rabbit, Angel, had also nodded. I don't know why he would allow me to help out with the scaring, since last week's incident. He actually tried to cook me. Twilight said that Angel and all of Fluttershy's animals did the same to Rainbow when Twilight accidentally switched the Cutie Marks of all of her friends. But when this if for Fluttershy, he was willing to make an exception.
At the end of that scare, we took things a little too far. At first it was okay, but we went a little too far. At first, it was okay. We took some pealed grapes and made them look like eyeballs. That's a classic prank scare. Then we had Angel Bunny running across the maze with a black cloak. I told him to run around quickly, and not be seen, which'll scare the group.
Then we had some of Fluttershy's birds flying with white bed sheets. And to make them glow, we also had them carry lanterns. We had them chase Twilight, Spike, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Rarity towards a tree with a hole in front, and they all fell into the hole. Which I dug. I like to dig. It calms me.
In the cave under there, Applejack noticed Granny Smith in a rocking chair. But when Applejack walked over to her, Granny Smith's head fell off and there was a skull that looks like Granny Smith. Even had a wig. That scared all of them. Applejack thought this was something extra caused by Big Mac and Granny Smith, but that idea died down when they heard Granny Smith, Big Mac and the Cutie Mark Crusaders above them.
Then they saw a huge monster coming towards them. It was actually Harry the bear with a sea monster mask. Rainbow Dash told everyone to run. But then they ran into a really big and really thick spider's web. Twilight saw Harry running towards them, but then she teleported them out of the web and they ran towards the exit, which was on a cliff.
They then heard the sound of wicked laughter. They looked up and saw Fluttershy, dressed as a vampony, hanging off a tree by her tail. Then she flew over towards the group, and they all ducked. Then she flew back and ripped the faked head on Spike's two headed dragon costume. But when she saw that she scared them too much, and she stopped scaring them and apologized.
"Guess we took things a little too far with that," I said while Mutt and I were coming out of the tunnel.
"Yeah," said Twilight. "A little. But, you helped Fluttershy set up all this?"
"I wanted to have them go small, but Angel wanted more and more in this scare prank," I said.
"Well, at least you got Fluttershy out of her comfort zone on Nightmare Night," said Rainbow Dash. "She's been scared of Nightmare Night ever since she was just a filly."
"Yeah," said Pinkie Pie. "We've been trying to get her to open up to Nightmare Night."
"Fluttershy," I said. "How about next time you just hand out candy to the kids. That's all you have to do. And remember, they're just kids in costumes."
"Oh," said Fluttershy. "Well, I guess I can do that. But, I might need a little emotional support with that."
"Have Angel help you up with that," I told her.
"Yeah," said Mutt. "He's a lot helpful to you personally."
Angel nodded in agreement. Then we all left and headed back to our homes. That was wickedly awesome.
It was already time for Hearth's Warming. My friends are going off to their homes for the holidays. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy went to Cloudsdale to go to their families. Rarity and Sweetie Belle were staying at their parents house. And Applejack and her close family went with Pinkie Pie to celebrate Hearth's Warming with Pinkie's family.
But this time was different. My parents, my brother, my sister-in-law and my nephew are coming to Ponyville to celebrate Hearth's Warming with us. But right now, I'm worried about M.C. and Mutt. They don't have families here in our time. M.C. might have it tougher than Mutt, since he has been years without his family. I don't know how Mutt will take it.
I walked over towards the room that M.C. and Mutt shared. I was about to knock, but the door opened and out came Mutt.
"Morning, Twilight," said Mutt.
"Morning, Mutt," I said. "Are you two going to be okay?"
"I'll be fine," said Mutt. "This isn't the first time I had Christmas without my parents. My dad died when I was only four months old. And my mom, she's an archaeologist. But, she was away a lot. Sometimes, she came. Other times, she was caught by her work. But she would still send me some Christmas Presents. Last time I saw her was Christmas back in our time. M.C. was lucky enough to get her to where we were."
"How's M.C. doing?" I asked.
"Oh, M.C. already left earlier this morning," Mutt told me. "Spike got a letter from Princess Celestia. Something about some kind of rift opened up inside the castle in Canterlot, and he went there as quickly as possible."
"So, what else do you know?" I asked.
"Nothin' else," he said. "Can we get something to eat? I'm starving."
"Sure," I told him. Then the two of us headed for the kitchen.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
Earlier today, I wasn't planned on much to do today. Since Hearth's Warming is this world's version of Christmas, and I've been alone for years. But today, I was called to Canterlot for something. I arrived in Canterlot and was greeted by Princess Celestia.
"Glad you could make it," said Princess Celestia. "I hope you weren't doing much today."
I sighed and said, "No big plans."
"What is wrong?" she asked me.
"I'm always like this during the holidays that are family related," I told her. "My kingdom was destroyed on my seventh birthday. I was the only survivor."
"That's similar to Joshua's story," Celestia said to me.
"Who do you think gave his parents the idea to send him here?" I asked. "I've waited years for him to arrive. But I didn't know it would take ten thousand years for him. Anyway, what is it that you wanted me to see?"
"Of course," said Princess Celestia. She then levitated me onto her back, and walked towards somewhere in the castle. We came into one room, which looked like a hospital room, and laying down on one bed was... another Mobian. It wasn't just any Mobian, but I knew this one. She was a dog, older than me. She has purple fur, and was wearing the outfit of an archaeologist. She even had a digital eye patch for scanning things. Princess Luna was watching her.
"Impossible," I said.
"Do you know who this Mobian is Michael?" Luna asked.
"I do," I told her. "This is Ava Muttski."
"Muttski?" Celestia asked. "Is she in any relation with your friend, Benjamin Muttski?"
"More than just a relation," I told her. "She's his mom."
Princess Luna smiled and said, "Well, at least your friend will have family here. I'm sure he would like this surprise, wouldn't he?"
I lowered my head and then shook it and chuckled. I then said, "Mutt is going to get a huge surprise. Have you tried waking her up?"
"We've tried everything," said Luna. "But it seems she's in a coma like state. There's no way of waking her up."
I seen her like that before. She was knocked out one time when I was around. Not my fault. But I know one way to wake up Ava. I then said, "Ava, some idiot from the future is threatening your son."
Then Ava woke up and said, "Where is he?! I will tear him limb from limb!" I started laughing. If anything will wake up a mother in a coma like state, it's when her child would be threatened. She then asked, "Michael Crayton, is that you?!"
"'Sup, Ava?" I asked her. "Mind telling me how you got yourself into the future?"
"I'm in the future?" she asked. "How far?"
"Ten thousand years," said Princess Celestia. "A lot of things have changed."
"I'll explain to you on the way," I told her. "But first, let's get you some more clothing. It's cold outside."
It took a while for Ava to understand what was going on, and accepting that we're fine here, but we eventually caught up. In fact, she found something in an old temple. She was showing me while we were in a private high speed chariot from Canterlot to Ponyville.
"This is how I got here," she said. "I found these old ruins at the bottom of Rail Canyon. I walked in and found that it was the temple of Queen Fate."
"Queen Fate?" said one of the guards. "She was one of the first Equestrians to set hoof in the land before Equestria was formed. Exactly fifteen hundred years ago."
"Really?" I asked. "She's one of the first ponies? She must've done a lot of things through any time."
"Indeed," came a voice. The pegasi stopped and looked up. Flying down from the sky was another alicorn pony. She was white and her mane and tail were red. She was wearing royal attire and her Cutie Mark was of a quill and ink.
"Who is that?" I asked.
"Prince Crayton," said one of the pegasus royal guards. "That is Empress Faust."
"Oh, so that's Faust," I said. "Joshua told me about his encounter with her last year."
"And I see that you are adjusting well to this world," said Faust. "I hope you have a pleasant time here. Now, as for those stones, they belonged to my mother."
"Wait a minute," I said. "You're the daughter of Queen Fate?"
"Yes," Faust said. "And my mother was the soul guardian of those two stones. The stones have different abilities. One stone can manipulate the fabric of reality, and show what has happened in the past. And the other stone can let you see possible futures, or even take you to the future or to the past."
"So, these are the famous Time and Reality Stones," I said. "Most of the Mobians thought that the Temple of Queen Fate was a myth."
"That I can believe," said Faust. "But, I believe that the Time Stone would be better off if I keep it out of the forces of evil."
"Good call," I said. "But what about the Reality Stone?"
"I think you'll be able to protect it," said Faust. "Protect it with your life." I nodded and put it in my pocket. Faust was confused by that and said, "Where did you put that? You don't even wear any clothes?"
"Then what are these pockets?" I said, stretching a pocket from my waist. She then looked at Ava in confusion.
"Don't ask me," Ava said. "I'm as confused as you are."
"Anyway, I must get going," said Faust. "I have already spoken to the other Mobian in this timeline. I shall hope to see you again."
Then Faust took off into the sky. Ava and I were confused because she just vanished in mid air. Ava then looked at me and I just shrugged my shoulders. I then looked towards the guards and said, "Aren't we heading somewhere?"
Then the guards started moving again. Ava then asked, "How were we still in the air when they weren't moving?"
"It's magic," I said. "I'm starting to get used to it."
I walked into the family room of the Castle of Friendship. There, I saw Twilight and her whole family, along with Mutt. I walked over towards Mutt and sat next to him. As for Ava, I had her wait in the room where Mutt and I sleep in. She was going to be a big surprise for Mutt. I looked over and saw that Cadance's stomach was bigger. Made sense since she was pregnant. Guard was feeling the bump for a kick for his new sibling who was going to be born.
"So, M.C.," said Velvet. "What did Princess Celestia want you for?"
"Oh, nothin' big," I said. "She just wanted to know how Mutt and I are taking it to staying here in Equestria."
"Are you sure?" Night Light asked.
"Of course," I said. Then Mutt brought over a present to me and handed it to me. I looked at it confused and asked, "What is this, Mutt?"
"It's actually something you might like," said Mutt. "Go ahead and open it." I looked at the others and they nodded. I then opened it up and saw that it was a photo album.
"A photo album?" I asked.
"Open it up," he said. Then I opened it up. I saw that it had pictures from my past. It contained pictures of when my parents with me during my childhood. Me being rescued by the United Federation. My many adventures. Somehow, Mutt got pictures of me when I was on Earth.
"How did you...?" I asked, but was interrupted.
"I... had a little chaotic help," said Mutt, pointing at the window. I looked at the window, and saw Discord there, giving a thumbs up with his lion paw.
I chuckled and returned to looking at the photo album. There was also the picture where Mutt and I met, during the fire. Then I saw some of our adventures before we came here. Even some with Sonic the Hedgehog. And then there was when Mutt and I were announced to Equestria. Then I saw the picture that Mutt and I were in with Twilight, Spike, Nyx and Joshua. I then closed it, and gave off a few tears. These tears aren't tears of sadness. They are tears of joy.
I then grabbed Mutt, and hugged him tight and said, "Thank you, Mutt. I haven't been this happy in a long time."
"Everyone deserves a present for the holidays," Mutt said.
I then remembered something, and said, "Oh, I almost forgot. I got something for you as well. It's in the room we share. Go on."
Then Mutt ran off. Then Twilight looked over at me and said, "You got him something in Canterlot, didn't you?"
"It was actually a surprise for me as well," I said. "But it seemed we got a surprise visitor from 10,000 years in the past."
"Who?" asked Twilight.
I chuckled and said, "Ava Muttski. Mutt's mom."
We then got up from our seats, and headed towards the room where Mutt and I slept, and saw Mutt and his mom reunited, and hugging. I was happy for the two of them. At least Mutt got his family back. I was about to walk back to the other room, but I was pulled in by Mutt, and I got joined in the hug.
"Thank you, M.C.," said Mutt.
"You're welcome, Mutt," I said. Twilight and her family were all watching us.
We all then got back into the family room, and enjoyed the rest of the holiday, together. I just hope all of the ponies will accept Ava like they accepted me and Mutt.
These past few weeks have been quite boring. Although, Discord has been hanging out with Twilight's friends, but he didn't bother to ask Sparkles if she wanted in. That's just mean, and he knows it. When Twilight and I confronted it, he accidentally confessed to it. So, a pact was made. Whether it's something to do with the pack of friends, all must attend. Unless one or more members are under the weather. And Pinkie and I could have sworn that we were being spied on. I went to investigate, and nopony was there. But somepony was there, I could smell it. Starlight Glimmer was watching us again. What is that girl up to?
And just last week, Twilight and Fluttershy went to solve a friendship problem in the Smokey Mountains. Apparently, two families were fighting over a feud that they didn't know how it started. But apparently, the feud was started due to a disagreement. They promised to preserve the land for the animals that lived there. But they fought over what to make first. The crops or shelter. They kept sabotaging the others progress and they kept fighting for years. Basically, their families came in and continued the fight, and it was the animals that suffered. But Twilight and Fluttershy ended the feud, and the families did what their ancestors promised.
Now that they're back, we could all relax. Do you know how much we all needed some good relaxation. Ava and Mutt went to do their own thing together. But Twilight has told me that there's an event coming to Ponyville. An event known as the Helping Hooves Music Festival. And, wouldn't you know it, it was scheduled on Nyx's Birthday. That would be an interesting birthday for her.
I walked towards the stage where this time's most popular singer, Countess Coloratura was rehearsing her performance.
When she finished rehearsal, all of the ponies who were setting up the stage were applauding. Except for Applejack. She seemed stunned by the performance of the Countess. I walked over to her to see if she was okay.
"What's going on, Applejack?" I asked.
"Rarity was right!" she said. "Ah don't believe it!"
I was confused on that. Applejack told me that she and that Countess Coloratura were old foalhood friends during a summer camp.
We watched as Countess Coloratura's manager, Svengallop, walked up to her and said, "Oh, my shining star! Thanks to the sparkling costumes, dazzling choreography, and brilliant vocal effects that I designed, your performance was spectacular, Countess Coloratura!"
Luckily for Applejack, Rarity was standing next to her. Applejack said to her, "Correct me if I'm wrong here, but that feller isn't actually complimentin' Rara. He's complimentin' all the bells and whistles he's piled on to make her Countess Coloratura."
"Oh, no-no-no-no-no," Rarity said shaking her head, "you don't understand, Applejack. Creating all those elements is a lot of work, and Countess Coloratura's performance wouldn't exist without them."
"If you ask me, that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing," said Applejack.
"I agree with Applejack," I said. "Most famous singers shine bright when they are their true selves instead of who their manager wants them to be."
"And how do you know that?" Rarity asked me.
"I helped out a few singers back in my time figure out who they really are themselves," I said. "All of them I got them and they made it bigger and better than ever. And I can see that Coloratura is like those singers I helped."
Applejack smiled at what I said. We then walked up to the stage and we overheard Coloratura's conversation with Svengallop. "Oh, if we're all done here, I'd love to go back to my trailer and rest, Svengallop."
Then Pinkie Pie came up to them and said, "Actually, right now you're scheduled for your meet and greet with the schoolponies!"
"Ugh!" groaned Svengallop. So he was one of those managers. A manager that hates it when his star he's managing for is actually kindhearted and loves children. I hate those managers. "I can totally get you out of meeting with the schoolponies, Countess."
Applejack was a little upset that he suggested to Coloratura to try and get her out of that. But she smiled when she Coloratura said, "Absolutely not. My favorite part of any event is meeting with the schoolponies!"
Applejack and I walked up onto the stage. Applejack said to her, "The schoolponies'll be so happy to hear that, Rara!"
"Indeed," I said. "And, I got some info that one of the school fillies there, her birthday will be tomorrow, and you would be performing on her birthday."
"I would love to meet this filly," Coloratura said. "What's this filly's name?"
"Nyx," I said to her.
"Oh, that's right," said Applejack. "She would love to meet one of the best singers in all of Equestria. Even if I didn't know it. It's good to see ya again, Rara."
"It's a pleasure as well, AJ," she said. "And you must be Prince Michael Crayton."
"Cal me M.C.," I replied, shaking her hoof.
"Oooh, nice," she said. "It's basically your initials. Basically, other ponies would think of you as a DJ or a Master of Ceremonies."
I laughed and said, "Yes. Thank you for understanding that. Everyone at my home thought I was one of the two before I told them my nickname were the initials of my name."
Coloratura giggled at what I just said. But as she was, I could've sworn that Svengallop was giving me the stink eye. I can tell he was staring at me.
The fillies and colts were surprised to see Coloratura out in front of their school. They were excited to see her there.
She announced to them, "Ponyville schoolponies! As part of the Helping Hooves Music Festival, I'm holding a contest where some of you will get a chance to sing with me onstage at the concert tomorrow! Sound fun?" That made the school foals cheer happily. "Alright! Now who wants more hoofsies?" They all cheered again.
Applejack and I saw her giving some hugs to the young fillies. But then I heard something. Sounded like anger. I looked over to the outside of the school. Applejack turned her head and looked too. Outside, we saw Svengallop yelling at Pinkie Pie.
"But... I got everything you requested!" Pinkie said from far away.
"That was for Countess Coloratura!" said Svengallop. "This is for me! And what I want is premium oats!"
I didn't like how he was treating Pinkie Pie. So, I aimed my computer glove and started to record.
"Oh! Well, we have lots of tasty oats right here in Ponyville!" Pinkie Pie said holding out a plate of oats.
Svengallop knocked the plate out of Pinkie's hoof and said, " I would not feed those to a chicken! I want top-of-the-line Appleloosan oats! Next, it appears that we are surrounded by apple trees. Bring me five hundred pre-peeled, pre-cored apples, and I want those things in twenty-four hours!"
That made Pinkie Pie gasp. She then said, "But that's impossible!"
Svengallop got into Pinkie's face and asked, "Do you want me to pull Countess Coloratura from your little podunk charity show?! Because I will!"
Applejack walked up to Pinkie Pie and I stayed behind. I'd though that Pinkie needed to be comforted by a good friend of hers. I then walked off.
Well, when Applejack told Coloratura about Svengallop's awful behavior, Coloratura thought that Applejack was lying, even though Applejack is the most honest pony in Equestria. But, luckily, with our brains, we had a plan.
We had Coloratura in on our plan, and I also told her that Applejack never lies about something so serious. She actually never lies period. Although, she has lied when she was corrupted by Discord that one time. And she also lied because she didn't want her grandma's feelings getting hurt. But, she hasn't lied since then.
Coloratura was getting into position while Rarity was using her magic to hang up the stage lights and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were putting up the curtains. She then called out, "Svengallop? Svengallop! Where are you, Svengallop?"
Svengallop came up to her quickly and said, "Here I am! Did you need something?"
Coloratura was nervous about what she was about to say, but she had to say it. "Yes, I was... considering... m-maybe cancelling the contest with the schoolponies...?"
"Countess, this is wonderful!" said Svengallop, cutting her off. "I've been waiting forever for you to cancel that pointless schoolpony contest."
"You... have?" Coloratura asked.
"You do it at every charity event, and it does absolutely nothing to promote the Countess Coloratura image that I built!" said Svengallop in a snobbish tone. "Consider it cancelled. Pinkie Pie!"
Then Pinkie Pie, with her mane and tail ruffled, rushed over to them and said, when she was out of breath, "Yes, Svengallop, sir!" She then coughed.
"We are making some adjustments to the show," Svengallop said. "Follow me!" Pinkie Pie followed.
Coloratura nodded towards Applejack. Then Applejack looked over at me on Twilight's back. Applejack nodded at us, and then Twilight and I got into position. We saw Svengallop talking to Pinkie in threatening words. I held out my glove and set it to video record, and started recording.
"Cancel the contest for the fillies and schedule me a spa treatment. Now that I don't have to oversee a rehearsal with those brats, I have time for the works! You know the drill! Deliver, or the diva ditches your dippy charity!"
I stopped recording and said, "That punk's going down."
"Indeed," said Twilight. "I'm surprised you were raised to talk like that. Oh, wait, your parents died when you were seven."
"Quit rubbing salt in the wound," I told her.
"Sorry," she said. We then headed back to the ground.
We saw Svengallop walking up to Coloratura and said, "Okay, Countess Coloratura, all taken care of!"
That was my cue. I then held out my right hand and showed a huge holographic screen with a video of what Svengallop just said to Pinkie.
"You know the drill! Deliver, or the diva ditches your dippy charity!"
"Busted!" I said.
"So that's how you've been managing things?" Coloratura asked in an angry tone.
"Yeah, so? What's the problem?" Svengallop asked, not caring.
"The problem is, is you've been using my name to intimidate ponies to get what you want!" Coloratura shouted.
"But I work incredibly hard for you! I deserve everything I get!" Svengallop said. "And I also want what's best for you. Especially cancelling that contest for schoolponies even if one of them is pure evil!"
"What?" she asked, confused.
"I believe I can answer that," said M.C. walking up to them. "Svengallop had been unwillingly a member of a certain cult. The Children of Nightmare. He blames Nyx for being cursed, even though she was the one who removed it from you and all the other Children of Nightmare."
"So, you don't want Countess Coloratura wanting contests for schoolponies because of Nyx? My daughter?!" Twilight said angrily. "She's not evil!"
"She is evil!" Svengallop shouted. "She indirectly added me to her cult. Three years, and four months ago."
"Nyx didn't even have a form back then," said Twilight. "Plus, you're being angry for no reason. If you are wanting to hurt my daughter for releasing you from that curse, then you are the one who is evil."
"And you're going to jail," I told him, pounding my left fist into my right hand.
"Fine!" said Svengallop. "But without me, Countess Coloratura won't make it as much as she did without my help."
"You're right," I told him. "She'll be better. I've seen a lot of singers be successful by being themselves, and not what their bad manager wants them to be. So, you lose period." I then grabbed him by his scruff and tail, held him straight up, and walked off. I then looked towards Coloratura and said, "Don't worry about what your manager said. Just be you."
She smiled and my words of wisdom, and I continued taking Svengallop to jail.
Luckily, I returned to Ponyville just in time for the concert to start. I stood right next to Twilight, Spike, Nyx and Joshua. And just in time, too.
All of the ponies who had a unicorn horn had their horns glowing, and when she finished her song, everypony cheered. Then Coloratura called out, "Thank you, everypony! When I arrived at the Helping Hooves Music Festival, I had forgotten who I really was! But then an old friend reminded me what real friendship is about, and she told me that if I was true to myself, I couldn't go wrong! So I have a very special surprise for her." She then looked towards crowd and said, "Would the Cutie Mark Crusaders come up here?"
Then Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Nyx, Joshua and Dinky all came up onto the stage. It turns out that Coloratura had a special surprise for Applejack herself. She and the Crusaders were singing the song that she sung during their old summer camp days.
This might have been the best concert that Ponyville has ever gotten.
Well, Mommy and Spike are out of town working on some speech in Canterlot. But for some reason, M.C. was detecting something that was alerting him from his glove.
Nyx and I followed him and Mutt to where these weird things are coming from. I then asked, "What exactly are we looking for?"
"We're looking for some kind of anomaly that's emanating from somewhere around the Everfree Forest," M.C. said to me. "I've never seen an anomaly this powerful. This anomaly makes Discord's magic anomalies look like child's play."
Then Discord came in with a popping sound and said, "Well, that was really rude."
"Sorry, Discord," M.C. said. "I'm just trying to find out where this anomaly is coming from."
"Hm," he said, putting his eagle talon hand to his chin. "Well, I do detect a lot of strange anomalies coming around here." He then pulled out some sort of anomaly detector with a wand connected to it. "Ooooh. There's a lot of more anomalies coming! Coming at a chaotic level!"
Then a bunch of strange wormholes opened up, with two somethings going through.
"What was that?" Nyx asked.
"I can't see it," M.C. said. "Those wormholes are keeping us from getting us a clear view."
"Just in case, maybe we shouldn't be near those things," Mutt said.
"Yeah," I said. "I'm going home. Whoooaaa!" Apparently, a wormhole opened behind me as I was stepping back, but I fell through.
"JOSHUA!!" I heard M.C., Mutt, Nyx and Discord. I blacked out after I fell through.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
We just saw Joshua fall into a wormhole to an unknown location. Even Discord can't pin-point his exact location.
"Well, I can't pin-point his exact location," Discord said. "I can't find him in our exact reality."
"Well, this is just great," I said, kicking the ground. "What am I going to tell Sparkles when she comes home?" I then got a call in coming from Ava. I then answered it. "What is it, Ava?"
"There's an intruder in the castle," she said through my communicator. "She's doing something."
"What does this intruder look like?" I asked.
"Light purple, dark purple mane and tail with light blue highlights, and a Cutie Mark of some sort of glimmer," Ava said, describing the intruder.
"Starlight Glimmer!" I said. "On our way."
We then rushed over towards the castle, but when we arrived there, Twilight and Spike just got home.
"Don't know, but there's something bigger going on inside the castle right now," I told her.
"C'mon, M.C.," Twilight said. "Nothing is more important than Joshua's safety."
"Starlight Glimmer is inside the castle as we speak," I said to her.
"WHAT?!" Twilight asked. We then all rushed into the castle. Hopefully Joshua was okay, wherever he may be.
(Joshua's Point of View)
I was waking up to somebody shaking me. I heard a faint cry of distress.
"Wake up. C'mon, wake up."
That sounded like Fluttershy. I just hope it was the same Joshua from Toby's dimension. I opened my eyes, and I did see Fluttershy, but it wasn't the Fluttershy I was expecting. It was the human Fluttershy in the other dimension.
"Are you okay?" she asked me.
"I'm... I'm okay," I told her. I then looked at my hands, which I was lucky to have again. "What happened?"
"I was talking with the Twilight of this world," Human Fluttershy said. "But when I was revealing my magic to her, that device on her started sucking my magic. And a jackalope came through, and her dog chased it through multiple portals surrounding us."
"Wait a minute," I said. "That's was what was going through the portal. Spike the dog and a jackalope. We couldn't see it because the other portals were in the way."
"And then the jackalope ran into another portal, but Spike got caught in the crossfire of Twilight's thing sucking out my magic," Human Fluttershy said. "And now, Spike is able to talk."
"And I'm guessing now he has the same intelligent as us?" he asked.
"I guess so," Human Fluttershy said.
"I should probably get home before someone back their starts to worry," I said.
"Oh," she said. "About that. The portal... is closed for some reason and you're stuck here."
"WHAT?!" I shouted.
"Maybe you should keep your voice down," she told me. "Hang on." She then got out her cell phone and called someone. It's been so long since I've seen a cell phone. "Hey, Sunset? We got a small problem."
I couldn't believe I got a front row seat to the Friendship Games. Although, while the second event was going on, I had to sit next to the human version of Flash Sentry. And it would seem that he has a thing for Mommy. I was a little creeped out, but then the monster vines came out of multiple portals across the field, attacking everyone.
It turns out that Mommy's counterpart in this dimension made a device that was supposed to detect anomalies like M.C. was doing, but it turns out that it was also sucking up the magic it was detecting. Although Rainbow Dash and Applejack were using the magic they had, Rainbow Dash sacrificed her lead to save Sunset Shimmer from being eaten by a plant monster. But Canterlot High still won the second event. The principal of the rival school, Principal Cinch, accused them of cheating. But, we were all waiting for the final event to start.
Between the events, Sunset and the human versions of Mommy's friend told the principal and vice principal about me, and, to my surprise, the principal and vice principal of the school were the human versions of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. What are the odds? Anyway, the human versions of Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo let me stay with them until the event was over. But, it would seem that Principal Cinch, and her students were trying to convince the human Twilight to use the magic she had in her device to win the final event. With that much magic, I got a bad feeling. I can feel it.
The third event was about to begin, and the human Twilight was opening the device. Sunset saw what she was doing, and tried to stop her, but was too late. A huge purple orb was growing from the device, sucking in the human Twilight. She held out a hand for her classmates, shouting, "HELP! MEEEEE!"
But she was engulfed by the orb, but inside, she turned into some kind of dark purple angel with a wicked look. She was laughing maniacally and looked towards Sunset and said, "You were right! I didn't understand magic before, but I do now!" She then fired a blast at the statue over where the portal was. Then a tear of reality opened up, and in that tear was Ponyville Town Hall. I couldn't believe what I just saw.
(M.C.'s Point of View)
I couldn't believe what I just saw. Starlight Glimmer opened up a Time Vortex with some sort of spell along with the Cutie Map. Spike looked at the piece of paper that was left behind, but Twilight warned him, and she and Spike were sucked up into the time portal to who knows where or when, leaving me, Mutt, Nyx and Ava to do nothing but watch.
"That... was... insane," I said.
"Where'd they go?" Nyx asked.
"I don't know," I told her. "I'm going to..." I was cut off when the ground started shaking.
"What was that?" Ava asked.
"One way to find out," I told her.
We then ran out of the castle, and up in the sky was a rip in reality. I scanned the rip with my computer glove.
"What's going on?" Mutt asked. "What is that?"
"I don't know," I said. "But that anomaly is thirty times stronger than the other ones we saw."
Mutt brought out his teched up binoculars and looked up at the tear. He then said, "Wait a minute. That's a portal to the human world on the other side of that mirror."
"Incredible," I said. "If that's where those rifts open up, then that's where Joshua has got to be. We have to go up there and find him. And deal with what's going on. But the real question is, how will we get up there."
"Will these do?" Ava asked. Me, Mutt and Nyx looked over at her and saw that she had two hoverboards.
I smiled and said, "That is exactly what we need right now. How did you get these?"
"You left them with me the last time you two visited me on my archaeological findings," said Ava. "Now, you two go up there and save both realities."
"Wait," Nyx said. "If you guys are going, then I'm going to. Joshua is somewhere up there."
I smiled at her bravery. I then said, "Alright. Mutt, Nyx, when we get up there, you two search for Joshua and get any humans around to safety. I'll deal with the problem."
The two of them nodded. I got on one hover board and Mutt and Nyx got on the other. We then headed up through the portal, trying to deal with the problem.
(Joshua's Point of View)
This was a really big problem. The Twilight of this world, or how she was calling herself, Midnight Sparkle, was opening up multiple rifts. She was planning on taking all of the magic of Equestria for herself. And Principal Cinch was trying to run away from the human Twilight, calling her a monster.
"Twilight! You can't do this!" Sunset yelled, trying to reason with the human Twilight.
"Why not?!" said the demon version of human Twilight. "There's a whole other world right there, and it's just filled with magic!"
"But you're destroying this world to get it!" said Sunset.
"So what?" she asked Sunset. "There's more magic there, and I want to understand it all!" She then fired another blast towards the front entrance of the school, where the human versions of Celestia, Luna and Aunt Cadance were standing. But then I heard a familiar voice.
"Hey, you freak! Understand this!" Then from straight below the human Twilight, out came M.C. on a hoverboard, hitting the human-demon Twilight in the chin.
"Why you!" she shouted. She then stopped to look at what hit her. "What are you?!"
"Your worst nightmare," he told her. Then he got confused at her appearance. Then he understood in realization. "It can't be... Sparkles?"
"I don't know who you are," she said to M.C., "but you are going to pay for that!" She then fired a blast towards M.C., but M.C. leaned back dodging the blast.
"Dang, girl," M.C. said. "You need to work on your flirting!" He then fired a photon blast of matter, and the human Twilight got pushed back hard. M.C. then got lower on his hoverboard and jumped off of it. He landed next to Sunset Shimmer and asked, "What's the scoop?"
"The human Twilight has been accidentally sucking up Equestrian Magic from me and my friends," she explained. "Her principal wanted her to use the magic she's gathered to win the last event of the Friendship Games."
"That seems a bit rash," M.C. said. "You didn't use magic to win the last event, did you?"
"No," Sunset said. "Well, magic was used but it was Rainbow Dash who used it when the people here were in danger."
"Then that's not cheating at all," M.C. said. "You won the match and didn't use the magic to win the event. So it wasn't really cheating to win." Then Twilight came back more angry than ever. "Her on the other hand..."
"ENOUGH!" Human Twilight shouted while firing a blast at M.C. and Sunset. M.C. grabbed her and his board, and jumped out of the way. Good thing, too.
"Joshua!" came Nyx and Mutt's voices. I looked towards my right and saw Nyx and Mutt running towards me.
"C'mon," said Mutt. "Let's get to safety." He then pulled out a bullhorn and said into it. "Everyone! Evacuate towards inside the school! Help out anyone who is in need of help!"
Then all of the humans ran into the school, but Principal Cinch was pushing all of the other humans out of her way.
"Well, that was rude," I said.
We all ran inside, but Sunset and the human versions of Mommy's friends stayed there, helping out those who were in danger. M.C. kept battling with Midnight Sparkle, keeping her busy.
Sunset then saw the device that the Human Twilight was using. She looked around at her friends, and saw that they were glowing.
Sunset then looked up at Midnight Sparkle and said, "This isn't the way! I know you feel powerful right now, like you can have everything you want! I've been where you are, I've made the same mistake you're making! I put on a crown and, just like you, I was overwhelmed by the magic it contained! I thought it could get me everything I wanted!"
"Oh, you're wrong," Midnight Sparkle said. "Unlike you, I can have everything I want!"
"No, you can't. Even with all that magic and power, you'll still be alone!" Sunset said, holding up that device. "True magic comes from honesty! Loyalty! Laughter! Generosity! Kindness!" The device was sucking up magic from Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy. All of them were going into a small orb inside the device. "I understand you, Twilight, and I want to show you the most important magic of all..." She then closed the device and then she threw it at the ground when she jumped. Then she was engulfed in another light, and she was transforming like the human Twilight, but she had more of a good, lighter aura.
When she emerged, she was wearing a light pink dress with a short white skirt, fiery boots with a symbol of a red and yellow sun, and she had a horn and wings made of golden light.
"The Magic of Friendship!" she said, finishing her sentence.
"Whoa!" said M.C. "You know what, I'm gonna let you take this one!" Then he jumped off of Midnight Sparkle, and landed in front of the school. He then shouted, "Ultra Chaos Shield!"
Then huge shield of golden aura surrounded the school. Then Sunset closed all of the rifts to Equestria so Midnight Sparkle won't go through them. Then Sunset and Twilight fired huge powerful blasts at each other. No matter what, Sunset was losing that fight. Midnight Sparkle was winning, and laughing evilly.
Puppy Spike ran over towards the fight and shouted, "TWILIGHT!"
"Did that dog just talk?" M.C. asked. "Oh, wait a minute." M.C. looked towards Fluttershy and asked, "Sparkles sucked up your magic and he got caught in the crossfire?"
Fluttershy nodded.
Midnight Sparkle looked down at Spike and saw him giving the puppy dog eyes. Twilight's eyes went back to normal and whispered, "Spike..."
Sunset used that as an opportunity, and used as much power she could. That caught Midnight Sparkle's attention.
"NOOOO!" Midnight Sparkle shouted, but was engulfed in light.
Then there was a huge explosion and on the ground, Sunset and Twilight were standing there.

That was incredible. I've never seen a battle that intense.
Human Twilight recovered and said, "I am so sorry... I didn't mean for any of this to happen..."
"I know," Sunset replied. "And going by my own experiences, they'll forgive you."
Then the dog Spike jumped up, and tackled Twilight with her glasses in his mouth. That made the human Twilight laugh.
Everyone came out of the school, knowing that it was safe. The principal of the rival school walked towards, what I'm guessing is, Principal Celestia and shouted at her, "Principal Celestia, on behalf of Crystal Prep, I demand that you forfeit the Friendship Games! Clearly, CHS has had unfair advantage for quite some time! And it's certainly obvious that your students have been using magic for their own benefit!"
Principal Celestia kept her cool and said, "I'd like to think that saving the world benefits us all."
One student from Crystal Prep had the guts to stand up to her, and said, "At least they didn't manipulate Twilight into releasing all the stolen magic and turning into a power-crazed magical creature that tried to rip the world apart just to win a game."
"Wow! That's a lot to take in when you say it all at once," Pinkie Pie said.
"That's ridiculous!" shouted Principal Cinch at her student.
"Nope, that's pretty much what happened," said Spike the dog.
"Actually, we're all to blame," said on yellow orange skinned girl with magenta hair, in a sweet tone. But that ended when her mood turned sour. "Mostly it was her."
Principal Cinch growled at her student and then turned her head towards Principal Celestia and said, "Obviously my students have been infected with your magic, but I plan on taking all of this up with the school board!"
"Good," said Principal Celestia. "I'm sure they would be very interested in hearing all about the magical students with wings."
"Oh, and the portals to different dimensions," said Vice Principal Luna.
"And don't forget to tell them about the talking dog," said Dean Cadance, before giggling.
"Because that would never ruin your reputation," said Spike the dog.
Principal Cinch then looked around. All of the students of both CHS and Crystal Prep were giving her the stink eye. She then groaned angrily, and then just calmed down, turned around, and walked away. I'm guessing she'll never understand friendship. What a total jerk.
Principal Celestia announced to all of the students, "Well, I know these Friendship Games haven't been what any of us expected, but given what we've all just been through, I think it's fair to declare us all winners."
Then everyone there cheered. Luckily, Mutt, Nyx and Joshua were close to me. This has been an eventful day. I just hope Twilight back home will come and get us out of this dimension.
The next day, the school was cleaned up from all the damage that was taken in. Although, the school is going to have to replace that horse statue on top of the stone podium where the portal to Equestria was. We were hoping that Twilight would be here yesterday. The Twilight we know. Until then, Sunset is letting us stay in her apartment building.
The Twilight of this world, or as we're going to call her, Sci-Twi, is doing better. She was sitting on the steps to the entrance of the school with Spike in her lap. Then Dean Cadance walked up to her and said, "I guess that was one way to finish up your time at Crystal Prep. Pretty sure Cinch will be fast-tracking your application after all of that."
" I've been thinking about it and..." Sci-Twi said. "I'm not so sure now is the time for me to apply to Everton."
"Really?" Dean Cadance asked.
"I may know about a lot of things, but friendship isn't really one of them," said Sci-Twi. "And I'm definitely not gonna learn more about it by being alone all the time."
"So, you're staying at Crystal Prep?" asked Dean Cadance.
"Well, it seems the students here at CHS know an awful lot about the subject," said Sci-Twi. "I don't suppose..."
"You could transfer to this school instead," said Dean Cadance.
"Really?" asked Sci-Twi.
"You'd certainly be missed at Crystal Prep," said Dean Cadance before hugging her. "But I think that's a great idea! I'll be sure to speak to Principal Celestia about it right away."
We were waiting by the portal. Me, Mutt, Nyx and Joshua were sitting on top of the podium where the portal is, and Sunset Shimmer was leaning on the part of the podium where the portal was supposed to be, and the book being held in her folded arms. And I'm guessing it's not open yet.
Fluttershy walked up to Sunset and asked, "Still no word from Princess Twilight?"
"Not yet," said Sunset. "But I think I may have figured out how magic works in this world. We pony up when we're showing the truest part of ourselves. I was so busy waiting for someone else to give me the answers that I gave up looking for them myself. I'm sure there will be more magical problems that pop up in this world, but like Applejack said, Princess Twilight has her own problems to worry about in Equestria. We can't expect her to always be around to help us."
"But maybe I can be?" came Sci-Twi's voice. We all looked towards Sci-Twi and Principal Celestia walking up to us, and Spike the dog was in Sci-Twi's arms.
"It seems we have a new Wondercolt here at Canterlot High!" said Principal Celestia.
"I'm not sure how much help I could be," said Sci-Twi. "But I'd like to try. If you would all give me a chance."
"I'm sure I can count on you girls to help her feel at home," said Principal Celestia.
"You sure can," said Sunset Shimmer, and then she and the other five girls gave Twilight a group hug.
(3 Days Later...)
We have been waiting days for the portal to open. We've been waiting by the portal for it to open. Today, we were having a picnic in front of the portal. It was getting quite boring these past few days. What was taking Twilight so long?
But to answer the question, the portal started rippling. We all looked at it, including Sci-Twi. Then the Twilight we knew came on through.
"I'm so sorry I didn't get here sooner!" Twilight said apologizing. "I didn't get your messages until just now because I was caught in this time travel loop and, honestly, it was the strangest thing that's ever happened to me!" She then got surprised to see her human counterpart standing right in front of her. It took a few seconds for someone to respond. So, we did.
"Awkward," said Mutt, Nyx, Joshua and I in unison.
Twilight then pointed a finger at her counterpart and said, "Make that the second strangest."
I couldn't believe it. Not only did I learn that M.C., Mutt, and two of my kids are in the other dimension, but when I went there to get them, I was surprised to see them, the human versions of my friends, Sunset Shimmer, and... well, me. I was as equally surprised as my human counterpart was.
"M.C.," I said to him. "Explanation. Now."
M.C. took a breath and said, "Basically, after you and Spike were sucked into that time vortex, a huge anomaly came from outside. We went to investigate, and there was a huge rip in reality connecting to right outside CHS. Before you got back home, Joshua was pulled into a portal. We were going to tell you, but Starlight Glimmer was in the castle."
"Okay," I said. "I can understand that."
"Anyway, this Twilight was accidentally stealing magic from these girls," M.C. said. "But the principal of her school wanted her to use the magic she gathered to win the Friendship Games, even though it was supposed to be a friendly competition and the principal just wants all of her students to be perfect at everything."
"Eeyup," said Applejack. "And now, Principal Cinch might not be principal of that school much longer."
"This Twilight got corrupted by the magic that she didn't understand," Sunset said. "But, we were able to snap her out of it. Just three days ago, she got transferred to this school and we're teaching her how to control her magic."
"I'm not sure I want this magic," my counterpart said. "It's kinda creeping me out."
"You didn't think I asked for the powers I had, do you?" M.C. said to her. "Because of my powers, I'm not able to see my family again. But, we are given these powers for a reason. I hope you find the reason why you have magic now."
My counterpart was thinking about it. Guess she was starting to agree with what M.C. said. But then she asked, "By the way. When we were... you know... you said something about working on my flirting."
I was confused by that, and I looked at M.C. He responded with, "I was confusing you with a quip. It's what makes great superheroes great."
I giggled at that and said, "Alright, you four. Let's get going."
Then M.C., Nyx, Joshua and Mutt got up, and headed for the portal. I then followed suit.
We arrived back at home. Luckily, Ava had explained to Cheerilee why Nyx and Joshua weren't in school these last couple days. We had to get Nyx and Joshua to do their homework they missed, but they are okay.
"Hopefully, we didn't miss much while we were gone," M.C. said.
"Yeah," said Mutt. "Anyway, what ever happened to that Starlight Glimmer pony?"
I then froze, causing M.C., Mutt, Nyx and Joshua to bump into me. I turned around and gave off a nervous grin and said, "Actually... about that..." I then motioned to them to follow me. I led them into the dining room, and in there were my friends, and Starlight Glimmer. I told M.C., Mutt, Nyx and Joshua that Starlight Glimmer will be staying with us and learning some friendship from me and my friends.
"So, we're going to have to help Starlight Glimmer understand true friendship?" M.C. asked.
"Indeed," I told him. "Oh, and remember that orange pony in the Crystal Empire? The one with the glasses and blue cloak with stars?"
"Yeah, what about him?" M.C. asked.
"It turns out that he was an old friend of Starlight Glimmer," I said to him.
"Wow," M.C. said.
"That seems a little redundant," said Mutt.
Starlight Glimmer then walked up to us and said, "I'll try my best not to be much trouble. And I hope I won't be as much trouble as that Darkstrike fellow. It might have been a misunderstanding."
"Oh, it wasn't a misunderstanding," M.C. said. "He destroyed my kingdom on my seventh birthday, and killed everyone there. I was the only survivor. I wanted revenge, but, my family wanted me to live the life I would be able to get myself. So, I avenged them, and I left Darkstrike flowing through the time stream, a statue, for eternity."
"Okay," said Starlight. "Sounds like he was mentally unstable."
"You have no idea," M.C. said. "Anyway, I hope you don't cause much trouble. If you do, I am going to have to tell Twilight."
"Understood," Starlight said.
M.C. then yawned and said, "Well, these past few days really tuckered me out. I'm turning in early."
"I'm tired as well," said Mutt. "I'm turning in."
M.C. and Mutt headed down the hall and towards their bedroom. I'm sure that things will be more interesting from now on.
