It was my first day in school. The first day to get taunted for my Manehattan accent. And my blank flank. My sister didn't care. She could snarl them off in a second. I could imagine the fillies and colts yelping in terror , while staring at her fangs.
" Class I would like you to meet Locks Key and Moth Heart." Ms. Cheerilee called. The ponies stared. "Ms. Cheerilee, I think we need to call the bug exterminators!" a filly with a pink mane called out. " Good one Diamond." a silver mare snickered. " Wh' ya gotta be such a bully Diamond Tiara? What did they ever do to you?" a yellow filly with a pink bow asked in her country accent. " Diamond Tiara. Why are you being such a brat? I don't even know you so maybe you would like to ' buzz' off" Moth said smugly. " The bug talked!" whined Diamond. " Is the baby scawed? Awww. Mommy will pwotect you" Moth cooed. " Silver spoon, what did the bug exterminator say to the changeling." asked Diamond with venom in her voice. " I don't know." she said shrugging. " Nothing, he swat him away.!" the two cackled.
" Girls!!! Diamond Tiara Silver Spoon detention for the both of you!" Ms. Cheerilee cried angrily. " What ever." Diamond said rolling her eyes. " Bug." she whispered
" Hey, Locks Key, want to sit with us ?" asked an orange pegasus. " Sure, Moth Heart, want to sit with me?" I asked my sister. " Sure." she said shrugging. " Hi I am Scootaloo, this is Sweetie Belle , and Applebloom." she said. " Thanks, for defending me and my sister." I whispered looking at my hooves. " No problem. You guy's ain't the only ones bullied by her." Applebloom replied. " I didn't need defending. I'm used to it now." my sister boasted. " I could tell." Scootaloo said dryly. " Thanks." Moth Heart said rolling her eyes.
" Anyways, she was only bulling me. The only visible changling here." Moth snorted. " Oh yeah. Right." I said dumbfounded. " Loxy, let's go." Moth said motioning towards the two bullies of the school. Maybe you can work some of your magic on them." Moth smirked. " She's a pegasus. Not a unicorn." Scootaloo snorted. " Moth. Mom said-" " I know what mom said. Show them what I was talking about. NOW!" Moth ordered. I nodded and closed my eyes. Think of a horn. Nothing happened. " Try harder!" Moth yelled inside my brain. I peeked open an eye and glared at her. I could feel my horn fizzing up with magic getting ready to. . . Wait what?!?! I opened my eyes and sure enough was a midnight blue horn a top my wings.
" Did I miss something!" the CMC asked. " Hehe..."
How in the wild world did I get stuck hanging out with blank flanks! Not including Loxy of course.She can't help it. Say cutie mark and she's your personal minion. Real fun for the evil people. Like Diamond Tiara and her crone. At least they can have her. She is worthless. Almost as bad as a changeling. Oops. I am one. Hooray.
Anyways I tried to drag my sister away from the Cutie Mark Crybaby's because really? I'm a changeling. I can just forge a cutie mark. So anyways I went over to my future friends Diamond and Silver. We were perfect for each other. They were mean so was I. The only person I don't bully is my little sis. Though I think I should. She get's soon annoying like Squeaky Belle.
" Moth, why do you want to sit with them?" asked Locks Key. " Isn't it obvious?" I retorted. " Not really. I mean we just left some really nice fillies, for them." she shuddered. " I already told you. You were not getting teased. I was." I said rolling my eyes for the thousandth time. " You roll your eyes too much. " Locks Key said . " Glad to know you noticed mom. " I said snorting.
" Hey, blank flank and bug, what do you two want." asked the snob Diamond Tiara. " To get to know you better and get tips on how to get a cutie mark." I said glancing at my sister. They understood. " Hey, bla- I mean Lock, we can help you earn a cutie mark." Silver Spoon frowned rubbing her shoulder. " Sorry 'bout that, she can be ignorant sometimes." Diamond said her voice slightly rising with frustation. But she barely heard DT. She was busy chatting with Silver.
" You really think I should-" " Of course. You could get a cutie mark as a spy!" " But, they were really nice to me at first and-" " Don't worry. All you have to do is act like them and report to us." " But what would I report?!?" " You know their weak spots and stuff like that." " Silvie, why do you want to know that?" " Locks Key, I should tell you the truth. They're bullies. We are the defenders. Before we got our cute marks we were taunted by them for being " blank flanks." Now it's time to pay them back. We are fighting for justice!!!" Silver Spoon shouted thrusting a hoof into the air. " One for all. . . " " AND ALL FOR ONE!!!" we screamed together. We all fell into a heap of laughing fillies. "BRRRRRRRING!!!!" " Let's go every pony." I said dusting my self off. They nodded and slipped into the classroom. " On guard!" I whispered when we got there. They giggled tears streaming from this eyes.
Today was my first day at school , and I already had five new friends. Not to mention my sister was hilarious. Considering she's rarely showing emotion. Awkward. " Hey, Loxy, follow us." Scootaloo ordered when school was over. " Ummmm," I glanced at Diamond and Silver. Then at Moth. " Go." she mouthed. "Okay." I told Scootaloo. " Then it's settled. Just let me get Sweetie and Apple Bloom." she replied. " Sure." I answered.
" Loxy, just think of this as your first spy mission. Tomorrow you can report back to us." Moth Heart whispered. " Aren't you coming?" I asked. " Naw. Besides this is your mission. I wouldn't want to ruin it with my bad attitude." she replied. " Okay Moth." I giggled. " One for all. And all for one." she shouted loud enough for Dt and Silver to hear. " Huzzah!" they yelled giggling. " See you after detention." they said walking back into the classroom. " Bye." Moth called.
" Hey Loxy, I got the others." Scootaloo called walking up with her friends. " Hey,umm, Apple Bloom, thanks for standing up for me when ...." " No problem. Ah've always hates Diamond anywhos. Besides ya already thanked me." she replied. "Guys, we're here." Sweetie belle squeaked. Honestly she should be Squeaky Belle.
I rolled my eyes , then looked up. There was a treehouse. Pretty boring, but I had to do this for my friends. " Locks, we would like to welcome you to be a cmc member. It will be great!!!" Sweetie cried. Can't wait. I thought in dismay. " Now, any ideas on how to get our cutie marks ....?" asked Scootaloo. " Oh no." Sweetie and Apple cried.
Scootaloo dragged the girls outside to a zipline. Sweetie was sweating with terror and Apple bloom was shivering. Locks just sat there staring like our cuz, Maud. You see, my mom is a changling and my dad is related to Maud Pie's mom(three times removed, then rejoined,then removed once more), meaning yes. We are related to Pinkamenia.
I was just staring at my sister getting dragged into a crazy stunt. I almost wanted to yell. But I didn't. They were gonna end up in tree sap anyways. Diamond said they always do. So I decided to sit back and watch. " Maybe later I'll tell them what they have to do to get a cutiemark." I muttered walking away.
I trotted back to school and peered inside. Diamond was at the front desk glaring at her teacher. " Yes Diamond, you and your friend can go now." she sighed. " Thanks Ms. Cheerilee." she replied dragging Silver out. " Hey. My sis is still working so, maybe we can, you know, get some smoothies at Sugarcube corner. Pinkemenia works there. She might give me a discount." I suggested. They stared at me. " You know as Pinkie.?" I snorted in disbelief. " Oh. Her." " Cool." they said. " Watch out!?!?!" Locks screamed. " Huh?" She zoomed past me green in the face. "Scoots, we're not zipling ever again!" the white one said. " Why not ?" she asked. " Nevermind." Apple bloom groaned. " Help me!!!" whispered Loxy.
I trotted away regretfully. I had to look arogant to the CMC or they could suspect something. Sorry I mouthed to my sister. She groaned then meekly raised a hoof. " On guard." she whispered. I nudged Tiara and we started giggling. Just then Pipsqueak passed by. Loxy started blushing like mad. I raised an eyebrow then mouthed home.
I ran past the new fillies in town. They seemed to be having a silent conversation. The changeling nudged Diamond and her crone and they giggled with the blue one blushing. I started to when they motioned towards me. Home. The changeling mouthed.
I had a delivery to make from my parents to Pinkie. They own a mail buisness that I work for. It's fun, a little. Anyway I arrived at Pinkies who started telling me about her cousin who's a changeling and how she just met them today. Ding a ling. " Hey cuz, how's buisness?" the changeling asked. " Great!"she replied whipping out strawberry smoothies. " Thanks." the trio cried.
I froze. Diamond stared right at me. Then nudged her new friend. " Moth, that's Pipsqueak. He's sooo tiny, but perfect for . . . . . " " Don't say it." Moth giggled. She was beautiful. I instantly walked over and tried to play it cool. " Yo Pinkz, can ya get me a milkshake fo two? " I asked sounding cool. " Roger that." she said wearing a hat backwards. Where in the hay did she get that from?
" Wow. Yo, who's the smoothie, I mean milkshake fo?" Moth asked. "You and me babe. You and me." I replied. " Smooth move slick." she said unimpressed. "Moth, he just wants to." "Go out with me. Diamond, please?" I asked. Moth's cheeks turned red with embarrassment. "I know someone who likes you m-more." she stuttered.
How is Loxy going to react to this!!!! I thought flopping down in my bed. His love for me is strong. Just like her love for him. "Ughhhhhhh!!!!" I screamed throwing my pillow at the door. "Moth!!!!! You almost hit me. You need to be more careful." Loxy scolded coming into the room. "Heh heh . . . . . . " "You must be hungry. I'll go get mum. Then we can go to the hive!" She squealed jumping in excitement. "Oh for pete's sake. Lets go." I grumbled. "Don't be so mad. You'll at least be able to see Bumble." She said smugly. "Who's he?" I asked sticking out my tounge. "Never mind. Let's go already!!!" Loxy squealed. "Mom. Can we go to the hive?" Loxy asked. "Sure. Momma's gotta stretch out these old wings." Chrsanthamum said. "Yay!!!!!!" Loxy cheered. "Wooohooo." I said bluntly following my mom and sister out the door. The hive was the last place I wanted to be in a million years.
Yay!!!! I was finally going to see the guards again!!! They are the best!!!! Funny and optomistic like me. A true gem if you ask me. Soon I'll be able to rule the hive as their true changling queen. I'll do an even better job then Chrysalis. How dare she attack harmless ponies. Though the plan was pretty well thought out. Except sending Twilight in the same prison as the princess of love and stupidity Cadance.
"Hey, Loxy where ya been?" Asked the jerk Buzz. "Back off buster." I snarled. "Well feisty taday aren't we." He asked imatating an Irish pony. I can't believe you're Bumbles twin. He's nothing like you.Why so angry babe?Get out of my train of thought or so help me I'll kill you!!!!! You already have.Mooom!Help!!!! Buzz is envading my thoughts again!!!!! Not now honey Mommas busy.Arghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
" Hiyah!" I screamed kicking the Diamond dog in the face.
" Come here you little brat!" he growled pouncing.
" Well then come and catch me!" I taunted. He pounced again and I dodged in the nick of time. This happened for many hours. Ponce, dodge, kick. Repeat.
Run.Run as fast as you can you can't catch me, I'm the sparkling man! I thought. The dog was panting.
" Can't we take a break?" he panted.
" Sure." I replied pulling out two juice boxes. It was as if a song was playing. Do do do do do do do doooo, do do do do dodo dooooooo. i pulled out two sandwhiches and chomped on one hungrily. The dog, Piz, waited for me to place his food on the bench before gulping it down.
" Yum!" we said licking our chops. I hopped off the bench. I motioned for Piz to do the same.
" I give up." He said running away." I'll get your rocks some day." I laughed.Hah! As if. I waved goodbye to Piz as he retreated, but only after giving him a warning buck.
" Now that that is over with I can finally think about home. I had heard my sisters had moved to Ponyville and were there to stay. To bad. Loxy loved Manehatten, I thought in dismay. That also meant no milkshakes handmade by my uhhh crush Thunder, and his dad. But I mostly loved him.
" Sparkling Wish, dinner time." Maud called bluntly.
" Coming." I called back. Inside was . . . rock soup. Yippe! Hope you realized that was sarcasm. They sat at the table in stony silence. I squirmed in my seat.
" Can I go to Ponyville?" I asked, thinkin that would break the silence. Maud looked at her sisters who looked at their parents, who looked at me. Everyone slowly nodded. I sighed. My flat mane made me fit in with hair styles,but dullness? Save that for Moth Heart!!!
" Well . . . I'll go and pack my bags. I leave tomorrow. Any questions?" I asked.
" Maud will take you there." Limestone said.
" I'm coming to. So will you Limstone." Marble comented. " It's been so long since we've seen Pinkie." She smiled remembering the party that got them to smile.
" Okaaaaaaaaaay." I replied slipping out my seat. " Well see you sometime later." I said squeezing my eyes shut. Could this place get any duller?!?!?
Loxy sighed. She had eaten her fill. Now it was time to head home. Finally! I thought in excitement. I hated the hive. All those changelings crawling around ready to pounce on anyone who dares betray them. The thought of this makes me sick.
" Remember, Sparklys coming home tomorrow." Loxy smilied flying in circles.
"Big deal." I said rolling my eyes in annoyance. Sparkling Wish is my other sister, she mostly lives with Pinkies family, which is a good thing because Manehatten might not have been her place.
You see my sister is weird. I mean Sparkling Wish. Her cutie mark is a fortune ball, but that's hardly important. What is, is how she feels about it. Since her mane is the normal Pie flat she wanted a cutie mark involving rocks. She also wanted to fly, but Mum wanted her an earth pony, meaning she can't do anything. No transforming no nothing. All she can do is farm like Aj, or do something with rocks. I don't quite understand it but . . . Anyway my sister was coming home. Yay.
"Awww, come on Mothy. She isn't that bad." Loxy sighed circling around me. I sighed. First the hive now her? Can my day get any better? Answer: No. I flew ahead of my sister and Mom, not wanting to hear her talk about how fun it was going to be to see her again. My thoughts are that she uses her wings to fly to the rock farm, but she can't, unless I go with her.
The next day
" How much longer?" asked Loxy jumping in anticipation.
" Not much." I told her rolling my eyes. Seriously? She was acting like a child, more so then she normally is. Sweet Celestia! If Loxy asked about Sparkling Wish I swear I was gonna kill her. Not literally of course, but maybe get on her nerves a bit.
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The train zoomed past us getting tons of wind in my mane. I flapped my wings ready to pounce. The doors of the train open,and out hopped a simple earth pony mare with a crystal ball and stars as her cutie mark.
" Hi Loxy, Moth!" she said bouncing with Loxy. Sooner or later she was gonna be as silent as a bunny, but for now I had to listen to my sis' rant.
" Did you see him? How cute is he? Scale of 1 through 10?" "9, Pipsqueaks the real beauty." " Pipwho?" " This truly ah-dorable colt with the cutest accent!" " Well it may or may not be destiny. my balls in my bag." " Get it! It's not fair you got your cutie mark and look at my flank." "Don't worry, it'll come soon. Hey, you might get something even better then this thing." "What's that?" "Well . . . . ."
"Finally!" I said as we made our way to the door. I zoomed inside and shut my door, to drown out all those obnoxious noises. This is the average family reunion in our house so I learned to deal with it.
When Sparkly came back, I thought that it would be like old times. We were always the fillies getting into trouble. But now, she thinks she's better just because she has her cutie mark. It's stupid really. I mean she can tell the future. Hump!
Let me explain.
It was bedtime and Sparkly was getting ready to sleep. Moth had already gone to bed so we had time to talk.
" You should see my new friends! Apple Bloom fixed the hideout all by herself, Sweetie Belle provides music, Scootaloo is the dancer, and I'm the audience. We decided to put on a play for Ponyville, and now you can see it! Oh I can't wait for you to meet them. Did I already mention mention how Apple Bloom fixed the club-"
" Yes Loxy. You already said that a thousand times. Shut up for once will you? Geez you're just as annoying as Pinkie when she visits the Pies!" Sparkling sneered. She looked smug as my eyes welled up with tears. My mane deflated and I looked duller then than I normally do.
Sparkling Wish placed a hoof on my shoulder but I shook it off. " You're right," my voice shook with sadness," I should shut up for once. W-w-what was I t-t-thinking. Of c-c-course you w-wanted a b-b-break f-from a-all that h-h-hard work y-you always d-do." I started crying harder. My sister was too "tired" to pay attention to me. I climbed into bed and ignored Sparkles for the rest of the night.
At least that's what she thought. I was really plotting how to get back at her. Series of plans formed in my mind.
1) Bake her a half cooked egg then crack it over her head while flying and ruin her mane. Then . . .
That's as far as I got. Sparky got out her bed and tucked my in whispering that she was going to help me get my cutie mark, so I would forgive her. I vowed never to forgive her ever again. Not if my life depended on it. Which it wouldn't anytime soon.
Loxy sobbed into mom's shoulder as she tried to produce a spark. "Come on Loxy, channel your inner changeling. Change into one of your friends, or Moth flight." Mom cooed. Loxy wiped her tears and tried once more, green magic flowing from her changeling form. A familiar capsule of green consumed Loxy, but only briefly before it died out. "Mom, I can't do it." She cried. I walked into the room to peovide encouragement. Go away Moth!" She muttered glaring at me. "Imagine the change before you do it." I soothed,placing a hoof on Loxy's back. She closed her eyes then once again switched to her changling form. Her tail turned a pretty blue and fur turned gold. Her cutie mark was now a mix of stars and hearts. She maintained it briefly, before it faded. "Great job, now all you have to do is maintain it. It'd be terrible if your disguise crashed!" I cried plaxing a hoof on her shoulder. "I don't get it! My changeling form and Loxy form fell right. Why don't the others?" Loxy groaned in frustration. "They aren't you. If I ever changed into my pony form it would probably be similar to my hcangeling form, without the holes." "Thanks Moth." Loxy sighed leaning into me. I nodded,and returned her hug,smiling softly to myself . . .
