With a simple, quiet day, how does one try to spend it?

By simply observing the scenery with music, a book, and a pen of course! (And by sleeping through the majority of it apparently)

And that’s exactly what our dear friend, Anon, did with his free time, taking the time to climb up to the bell tower of the School of Friendship on a weekend for the hidden gem of a view that it gave.

It was sure to be a simple time spent that was well worth the effort, nothing more, nothing less...

Provided that he actually does something other than sleep for the next hour or so, but thanks to the ability to literally ignore everything I [am about to] say, we humans have found a way to ignore some things in life, to the point that it ceased to exist from our perceptive, no matter how bat-shit insane or obvious it is, because it is simpler and easier to ignore over having to acknowledge and explain.

Ignoring what I just said, please, just enjoy some simple and completely normal time (there is no bait, trust me).

He slept, he listened to some music, he reminisced on some undisclosed memories and the sunset and twilight of Equestria.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So you guys remember how Starlight has a plant as a “Companion”, per se?

Ok... so, what if, like, in one of these, like, moments when Starlight is talking to Phyllis, Fluttershy walks in!

And we know Fluttershy is kind and all, and she did get Rainbow a pet...

Rainbow had Tank, Rarity had Opal, she had Angel, Applejack had Winona, Pinkie had Gummy, (Twilight and Spike's relationship is debatable, considering Owlowiscious and Peewee,) point is that they all had pets to find comfort in when friends were not around or were busy.

So why can’t Starlight have one?

Tell you what! This is my interpretation of the pet and procedures that Starlight would undergo from Fluttershy to find her (debatably) perfect pet match!

One-shot
A small detail for the sake of the story, Starlight had Phyllis for a long while, keep that in mind.
And edits are still pending...

Chapters (1)

After recent events that had transpired, Equestria was at a time of peace and prosperity. Reforms had been made, the Diarchy ruled with a just hoof, and life, in general, was great for the ponies and equine race as a whole.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the rest of Equis, a time of prosperity masked the internal conflicts within the nation, one with seeds that had been implanted long before Equestria went into one of its many golden eras.

Now, an asset from many, many, worlds apart has been set loose and has gone rogue, expansion was one of its goals. Though they would prove to be a testament that even the seemingly most powerful could lack in certain aspects, there is no such thing as perfection in a constantly inconsistent world of imperfections.

Regardless of the predicament, a certain bureaucrat is sent to minimalize both this rogue asset's reach and abilities to the best that his employers wishes, even alleviating some of his restrictions if it meant him doing the job.

Now, a single man may not seem much, even for the standards of a certain Freeman and his achievements, but there are plenty more things that this specific “man” could do.

After all, as he said, “The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference... in the world.

He is... A bureaucrat or Employer to the few, an Employee of sorts to the numbered.

The story happens before the events of any Half-Life canon (around the time of the Combine's inception) and before Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon.

A sin of omission isn’t lying.

An assassination attempt on Princess Mi Amora Cadenza is made, thankfully, the attempt was made during her wedding with Shining Armor, and as it turned out, a changeling had taken her place and they, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), took the hit for her, even if the whole wedding was a flop when it was interrupted by the changeling invasion.

After all of that commotion, Equestria had a suspect for the attempted assassination, but it only raised more questions, with the very real possibility of it happening again, the grim thought of what could have happened if the real Cadence was there if everything went to plan, what could have happened if the real princess or any pony else had their life on the line for that matter.

Today and the days that would follow, Equestria is faced by a creature who was peculiar in motive, with a muzzle that reflected the everyday average pony.

Is this some sort of statement?

An attempt to gain power?

Was it just a skit gone wrong?

Or is it old blood rising back from the past?

Well, they might just find out soon enough.

They could only hope their resolve is greater than this stallion, because the lives of several others may lay on the truth that he might speak.

This COULD be considered a prequel of sorts to “The Informants Job” that I have going.

But this is a completely separate story for a reason.
So, yeah… ;-;

Constructive criticism would be nice along with corrections.

It was supposed to be a simple hunting/camping trip for you.

Plenty of strange phenomena could occur, and soon, ponies would find themselves being in the sightline of a hunter.

Of course, Nothing major happened and really, it was a sight to behold.

Just a quick one I whipped out. There are plenty of vulgar words used, so do heed my warning.
Also, plot, I don't know if I did it correctly... so improvements are probably needed.

And a quick clarification, the forest is a sort of “Bridge” Between worlds, so if you're wondering if this is a Human in Equestria story, yes? (I’m not sure.)

Regardless, hopefully, you guys enjoy it. :)

The Crystal War is about to end, the era from which King Sombra ruled the Crystal Empire to its height is coming to a close, with the Kingdom of Equestria at his nation’s doorstep, he plans to make one last stand on the Frozen North Valley path.

As fate would have it, the Royal Sisters also had a plan, one to ensure a victory that would save as many lives as possible.

But when the night rises, and on the first break of dawn is in sight, a new era for Equus, and especially for Equestria will come forth.

Unfortunately, the Shadows of a Bygone era still stood at the position, guarding the Frozen Valley pass like the souls that have reawakened them, just like they have done from worlds gone by. Truly, tonight was going to be a long night, one that wouldn't be easily forgotten.

Some heads-up:
The story doesn't "necessarily" have humans in it, but they are related to the plot of the story. Their souls serve as the "Shadow of Bygone Era".

And I provided some video “references” for you to enjoy.
Said “references” are just that, references. (Its “Union of Salvation”).
I personally enjoyed the sound design and acting of the film.

Clearly, it is not one of my best stories, I think there are a lot of things I could have improved and ironed out, but I’d leave the story as is, I did what I came to do with this story, and it was both fun and painful trying to “research” some of these topics, and since I am really tired from just writing this, I’ll just... leave it as is.

Anyways,

Later!

So, you are nearing the end of your journey...

Nearly 2 decades' worth of hiding, scavenging, and a lot of running, now you were here in the outskirts of Griffonstone, in a diner by the shoreline, waiting for your ticket to come back home.

But you should have known, it was harder to hide and work in a world where you stood out, be it intentionally or not, and today is the day when you will get a chance to attain the very object that has limited you. Today is a day of hope, but to the two that would meet you, today would be foreboding beyond comprehension in the simplest of ways.

Now, let the broken commander and mislead dragon make their move, you will be prepared to run, run as you always have, run as you have with regret, and to run for the last time. Soon your final hand with be dealt, you could only hope the stakes are to favor your fate.

For now, you waited, prepared, and in a way, resigned to a hard fate, in one way or another.

All the tags are used in a very mild manner, the story really is my mild take on a HiE story that would want to go home and how years of work have led to the finale of their story. Of course, some things are not fully thought about as I wrote this.

Clearly, another story that I spent some time on, was supposed to be another one shot, but I decided to split it into two. Not the best story out there, but it will work for a time, changes will be made.

(cover art is there because yes.)

“I still have business to maintain against other... beliefs, and I can’t exactly let you go freely either, bad for business and all, so how about this, a contract? To either guarantee something beyond death or something… negotiable.”

Oh, friends of mine, it is I! The Devil himself, Toby Morningstar, CEO of Headquarters for Exiled Lunatics and Lossers Inc. (H.E.L.L. Inc.) Some interdimensional beings view me as a less-than-ideal lunatic who should never be trusted and is always a big meanie.

Granted there is some truth in that, and after all, when your competitions have stairways leading upwards or straight ahead, the assumption with staircases will always be better than those that go down under, but I’ve got a business, and talking business, my door is always open to anyone and everyone, old or new, so how about an offer? A contract perhaps? One that you simply have to read and provide a negotiable deal, perhaps your heart? The soul? Or maybe even your sanity, everything is up for the offer, and if you so wish, sign with your blood or, for the lucky unlucky, forfeit.

Truth be told, I'm not supposed to tell you this by-law of a multidimensional contract signed by my competitors and me, but it's your choice, it just so happens that it's usually better for business if you play into my side.

I would have considered this as one of my first Crack-fic’s so you know... Deal with it.

Mild tags here and there, it will probably involve some otherworldly beings, and yeah, I probably forgot something, and... um...
please don't do anything that will upset anyone. As I said, this is just to screw around, nothing more nothing less. (Crossovers with other characters will happen, just keep an eye out.)

I have a bad feeling about this, later!

Chapters (3)

Equus... peace and prosperity, the advent of a new era, one whose effects would last eons on end. And yet amidst it all, amidst an entire world's known history and apparent approach to its golden age, out there in the stars there are beings with ambition born out of ingenuity.

Once creation themselves, humans have become creators of entire galaxies, of entire lives. Defining and building up entire worlds who, like them, built nations and empires under their care. Gods they are not, creators they most certainly are.

But like gods who look down on their creation, so too did humans look down on them, whether it be to observe what their own creation had done, and maybe, just maybe... even learn from them.

All of these events happened before Twilight’s ascension as Ruler of Equestria, sometime after the defeat of the Legion of Doom.

Like my other story, I am doing this on my own and for fun, this was an older story I had written a while back, might improve on it, plus I'll do minuscule edits from time to time.

Edit 1: Did a bit of cleaning up for the short and long descriptions, hopefully, It doesn't look clustered now (IMO).

Through the years, Spitfire has always continued to build and improve both her image and skill in aerobatics, growing to become one of the most famous ponies that Equestria would ever see and know, but when the day came when she was unexpectedly granted 3 days off from her usual routine of training and teaching, thanks to a scheduled storm, she goes through some old fond memories of her young life, and sooner rather than later, with Rainbow Dash entail, they went to find and meet an old, yet an equally experienced friend of hers, an Ace like her with opportunities that could lead to similar paths, one who chose differently, and in some ways, reflect Spitfire in ways unexpected…

What's up m8's!

Had this idea while I was thinking of aerobatics, and then I realized... 'What if I tried making a simple story for once?'
And here I am! And boy do I hope this doesn't go too bad, there will be some slight changes, but for the most part, it will stick to the show's canon.

The cover art is a nod to Both the (Supermarine) Spitfire and the (Messerschmitt) Bf109, the real things, and is supposed to be some sort of metaphorical thing as they represent the two main characters of the story, (OC and Spitfire).

Apart from that, this is just a simple story on how change doesn't necessarily mean growth and allowing bygones to be bygones, or smth like that, hopefully (spoiler tag for a reason).

*Insert request for corrections*
