I have a terrible work ethic.
Starting very soon I will try to fix it by writing a few stories and publishing one of my friend's stories for him. Also, I will be working on art and music when possible and when I feel like it :P I'll have a lot of freetime soon yay~
I dunno why I decided to post this since I have no watchers at the moment but BLEH I did it anyway. For posterity or something.

I tried to restart the 3rd chapter earlier, but I couldn't get anywhere with it. Hopefully soon I'll have enough ideas to start going. I wrote a few ideas down on the word document i'm using, so that way I don't forget them

So yeah, like I said on your blog thingy, make her attacker someone her friends don't know about maybe. A secret romance. That would explain her strange behaviour mentioned in chapter 1. She could have been sneaking away to be with this colt, maybe missing a few meet-ups with her friends. That would make anypony suspicious. Then continue to add motive as to why he would hurt Fluttershy. I can give you a few examples if you're interested.
Also, make Spike go all detective on his flank.
Maybe pair him up with Rainbow Dash to look for clues, but nopony else should know what they're doing.
