In the shadow of the Sun Empress Celestia, the dreamy orphan Twilight discovers her terrifying heritage and dark secrets that could threaten the fate of the world.
Ok before you read this, I apologise for any grammatical errors. I live in a country where English is not spoken.
Did you see my work? I really can't judge Grammer lol.
Ok, so what I liked so much about the story is hard to summarize, so don't expect too short an answer. Since your story has entertained me for so long, you deserve a detailed answer.
Generally I don't mind any review, but personally I like detailed answers so be as detailed as you like.
I became aware of it because I was looking for badass stories about my favourite pastel pony.
You have excellent taste is pastel ponies.
I'm just about to read the sequel... almost finished to be exact, and I can say that I liked it just as much. Even if it didn't come close to the first part.
I would love to hear your thoughts when you finish the fic.
Thank you for the review, I enjoyed reading it quite a lot and am glad you are enjoying the series and hope it can live up to the first one well.

I had planned to read the whole thing for a long time, but was a little averse, as i am actually rather averse to stories with humans and ponies. But the story actually has many aspects that I also love. I mean a badass Twilight like the one shown in the first chapter can only be part of a good story.
First the character development of Twilight. To see how these dire events have changed her character in such a profound way is just interesting to read. For example, when Twilight had a strong emotional reaction at her first meeting with our trusted cybernetic doctor when he mentioned his lab and tests. Really terrific.
That is probably the most important thing in the whole story. Precisely because their core attributes have remained and have formed around the new character.
The missions described and the associated depiction of the gruesome war was a nice bonus. It showed once again that there are no good ones in war. Twilight had become a cruel sadist by the end of the war. The fact that such a nice character could become like that and that this development seemed credible is probably the best illustration of how bad war actually is.
The interludes were always entertaining to read. The meeting of Equestria and its residents on such an extreme character is just funny to watch. The characters who were new were also sympathetic enough, even if most of them weren't given a deep one, which I actually preferred.
So the character development of Twilight, the inbuilt humour and the portrayal of the wars sold the story for me. Definitely one of my favourite AU Twilights, right up there with the one from Researcher Twilight.
I'm just about to read the sequel... almost finished to be exact, and I can say that I liked it just as much. Even if it didn't come close to the first part. And I'm certainly not a good reviewer, and to that end her story was quite to my taste despite its flaws, so it's probably not worth too much, but I'll just give it a 9/10 rating.
Thank you for adding Death of a Queen to your library. I will admit that it is quite a long story. While you’re here, you might also want to check out the sequel. Bit of a waning, though, I plan to release a second version of Death of a Queen. This will cover the same major plot points, but also adds and shifts around scenes to improve the story. Regardless, I hope you enjoy.
