Some ground rules:
- Alicorn asention is a no-go. If Twilight or the transformed pony is already an alicorn, and they change into something else, then that is fine.
- If a pony is transformed into a different type of pony (ex. earth->unicorn) then it's fine.
-The magic/science that changes the being must be either provided by Twilight Sparkle, or applied to her.
-Transformed beings can start as anything, from ponies to humans to Zobnars from the planet Blah.
-No Equestria Girls mirror changes.

Flutterbat is half bat, where thestrals are pegasi with bat features. Changelings, flutterponies, and sea ponies are pony-like, but are not ponies. The Saddle Arabians, Donkeys and Mules are things, not ponies(for the sake of this group).

Sorry, I am not sure as to exactly what the Thestral is. I had the idea they were bats, in a Pony form, what am I missing here?
When you said that the breezie is not a Pony, does that go for the Changeling too?
On that note, there are a few other new types, or sub types. Or the really old once of course.
I recall they had flutter and sea Ponies back in the day, aside from a very different kind of Breezie.

403512 Still, technically, not a pony. I'm talking about the three main types, and maybe one sub-type- earth, pegasus, unicorn, and thestrals. Flutterbat wasn't a thestral.

Spike could have been a Pony in order fo him to have his dream.
Or if Angle was, he could have a very different relation with Flutters, just to see how these would pann out?

Yes, but Breezies aren't technically ponies.
She has used spells in order to keep it open longer, and anyway, it was applied to her.
Science or magic, it doesn't matter. It doesn't have to be intentional, but it either has to be her fault or applied to her.
So it is okay if she is transforming you into an Orange or a Breezie?
I feel I need o be here, there is bound to be stories where Twilight change a character from one form to the other.
On the note of what was mentioned above, the mirror is not an act of Twilight, even if her ascention could be argued to have been since she performed the spell.
Yet, if it is specified, then I can't complain about it.
Now I just have to dig through the archives in search for a story where Twilight in a form changes another character from one to the other.
Just a last question, does she have to be performing the Transformation, or just providing the vehicle for the change is acceptable? If the later is ok, I do have a few.
