This story is a sequel to The Line Between Fire and Light

With the revelation of the nature behind Twilight's golden eyes reveled she is no longer ascending to the throne of Equestria. But life moves on, and some begin to look to things they once never imagined. Or imagined differently.
New horizons can be seen. New adventures to be had, with new dangers.
But lessons no longer needed hold secrets Celestia intends to keep hidden. Secrets that Twilight feels must come to light.

This story is still not half done, and, like it's predecessor, is prone to additions and extensions. Updates may be far between. I welcome feedback and questions.

After the events of The Line Between Fire and Light things have calmed down a bit.
Then a package from A. K. Yearling arrives at the doorstep of Rainbow Dash. However, it doesn't contain a book like usual but a golden idol and a letter asking her to keep it safe.
A little adventure sounds like just the thing she needs right now.

James and Lucca's daughters have been looking forward to Nightmare Night for a while now, only to be told that they couldn't go because it's a full moon every Nightmare Night.
Without any other explanation they decide to disobey their parents and sneak back to Ponyville for a night of fun with the CMCs.

A suicide right by the school of friendship.
Why would someone do that when there was help so close?
Twilight can't let this go as just a tragic incident. There has to be a reason.

After James apologizes Pinkie asks a couple easy questions to learn a bit about him, but one question he won't answer is so easy that his refusal to do so is maddening.
Pinkie Pie wants to know about her new friend, even if he doesn't want to answer.

The parallel universe is indispensable to fanfiction, even in stories where it isn’t addressed as fanfiction by it's nature takes a route that deviates from the established universe.
It allows for crossovers, mash-ups, what ifs, and all sorts of other fun stories.
My story begins in a nexus between universes, with a father who just wants to let his daughters meet their heroes, and finds himself charmed by the inhabitants once they’re no longer just characters to him.
With his knowledge he could fundamentally alter everything that happens; but his goal is for things to turn out the way they’re supposed to. But change is inevitable. Change for both him and the girls.
Things start light, but there are cracks that show the shadows cast. And secrets are not kept forever.

Fire will burn all that it touches, ever seeking more fuel for it’s own survival. But with care that fire can be tamed to bring out it’s brightest light.
There are times where you can help your friends. And times where they must help themselves.
Never forget that those closest to you may be afraid to seek your help, or are unable to ask, or may even demand that you stay away.
But no matter what you stand beside them.
Because your friends are family you invite into your life.
