On her way to work with her smoothie cart one morning, Sunny happens to bump into Sprout and notices that he's looking rather unhappy. Soon, she begins to feel like she's unintentionally forgotten all about him, and so has everypony else.

Determined to cheer Sprout up and make him happy again, Sunny convinces her friends to join with her to give Sprout a surprise birthday party. But they'll have to be quick, because Sprout's birthday is only a few days away!

Can Sunny and her friends get everything ready in time for Sprout's big day?

This story is a sequel to My Little Pony Friendship is Magic What If?: Volume 15

G5 may be well underway, but there's still lots of unexplored potential in G4 worth considering. It's here once again, that series which dares to ask and seeks to answer that fateful question "What if that episode had been written differently?"

Twelve episodes are on tap for this volume, celebrating this series' tenth anniversary. Among the featured episodes includes a redo of a rewrite from Season 3, the rewriting of the final untouched episode of Season 8, a two parter, and even some bonus chapters.

It undoubtly goes without saying by now, but it's worth repeating all the same: The episodes rewritten are based on my personal opinion so please respect it. Don't get offended if an episode you liked is on the list here, or an episode you didn't like isn't on this list. I'll gladly respect your opinions if you respect mine.

I obviously mean no disrespect of any sort to Hasbro, the DHX writing and editing staff, or anyone who likes the episodes that appear here. The intent of this fic, like all of its predecessors, is for entertainment purposes only and nothing more.

When Thorax stops holding back and starts sharing love, magic is unleashed that causes not only the changelings to change but Starlight as well. In fact, the magic ends up changing her species completely.

To the shock of everyone, Starlight Glimmer is no longer a pony. Now, she is a changeling, and the queen of the changelings to boot.

Overwhelmed with this sudden change and the responsibilities that come with it, Starlight must quickly adapt and try to be a leader for her new hive. And this includes what to do with the former queen, Chrysalis.

Gallus' life is suddenly and abruptly altered one day when he receives a visit from Gilda and Gabby. They bring with them tragic news: Grandpa Gruff has died, Gallus is now orphaned once again.

Shocked to learn that the closest thing he had to a father figure could die without even telling him, Gallus struggles to process his complicated emotions as he prepares to leave for Grandpa Gruff's funeral in Griffonstone.

Silverstream, for her part, is determined to make sure that Gallus won't go through the heartbreak alone. Even if she doesn't have the experience of losing someone close to her, she wants to be there for her boyfriend.

One day, Rainbow Dash receives a most unusual request from her pranking friend, Pinkie Pie. And that is to come to Sugarcube Corner, and flush the pink party pony down the toilet.

Expecting the whole thing to just be another prank from Pinkie, Rainbow agrees. After all, it doesn't seem possible.

But Pinkie Pie is quite determined to go through with it. Will she actually go down the drain?

Lil' Cheese is going back to school, and he's extremely nervous because he's going to have a brand new teacher. Both his mom and his dad try to reassure him that he'll be just fine, but still the colt worries.

It just so happens that the one now teaching Lil' Cheese's class is a pony Lil' Cheese has had prior experience with. A most unexpected pony at that.

Mrs. Diamond Tiara is confident she's more than up to the task of helping Lil' Cheese out. And by the time it's done, Lil' Cheese might just learn more than he ever expected to.

Yona and Sandbar have been through a lot together since they started their relationship. But they've never left each others' side, not once.

So when Yona becomes sick with a cold one day and has to stay in bed, Sandbar decides to do what any good boyfriend should do: Care for his special someone as best he can.

Yona, for her part, is no stranger to Sandbar's hospitality. But how will she adjust to having to rely on someone else for once?

By sheer chance, Hitch discovers that Sparky's egg came with a note. Upon reading it, he discovers a familiar name as the author of the note: Spike.

Once informed of this discovery, Sunny realizes that Spike must know what happened to Equestria that caused the pony tribes to become divided. She subsequently recruits all of her friends to join her on a journey to see the old dragon.

When the five mares finally do meet with Spike, they'll be surprised to learn his reason behind sending Sparky to Maretime Bay. And Spike will shed light on how the utopia Princess Twilight created came undone.

Sparky has been returned to Hitch safe and sound, all is well. At least, that's what everypony thinks.

Sunny, however, suspects that Sparky's disappearance has touched off something personal deep within Hitch. As a good friend, she takes it upon herself to have a talk with him and find out the what and why.

Hitch must have had a reason for briefly becoming a superhero, right? Little does Sunny know that Hitch has a secret about his past that he's been reluctant to share.

Now retired from being a princess, Luna is free to pursue her interests: Chief among them reading. So imagine her surprise when she stumbles across a book written by none other than Stygian, a book specifically recounting the story of his past as The Pony of Shadows.

Naturally, Luna is quite intrigued by such a story and feels that she has a connection with the former scholar. So she decides to pay him a visit and have a little chat.

Stygian, for his part, is always thrilled to talk with fans of his work. But little does he suspect that Luna and him will share in some very personal feelings, feelings about the past and how it can shape one's present and future. As well as what it truly means to have once been "evil".
