Twilight decides to travel to the day of the sonic rainboom that gave them all their cutie marks, and see the full story unfold before them and see the true connection friends have before meeting. But like most things in Equestria this doesn't end up okay. They visited all of their experiences, Pinkie Pie being last. Being back at the rock farm gets a comment out of Pinkie Pie, and Twilight can't help but take the opportunity to study. What will this lead to?

A young filly named Amethyst wanders through a storm towards Ponyville, only to find herself at the Pie rock farm. The Pies let her stay until the storm passes. While there she meets a filly her age that goes by the name of Pinkamena, and she finds they have a lot in common. But they are both very shy fillies and although Amethyst wants Pinkamena as a friend she doesn't know how to ask.
