When Luke spots a group of girls following him and the professor, it leads to a new investigation that falls on Luke's now equine shoulders when the professor is kidnapped by Changelings! It's all up to the cutie mark-less Luke to determine friend from foe so that he and his new friends can find not only the real professor, but also Shining Armor. With the changelings attempting to take over again, the professor kidnapped, and now the added weight of the Crusaders after his membership, will it be too much for Professor Layton's apprentice number 1? Or will he discover that friendship really IS magic?
