On the other hoof, there's a difference between trusting somepony to be sexy and faithful (after a fashion), and trusting them to raise your two foals who are developing abilities completely alien to her without leaving the place a wreck.

Oh it is! That's where the "faithful" comes into play. Flashback covers a lot of it - Mr. and Mrs. Cake are both very much in love with each other, and have come to be equally in love with their little bundle of sexy fountain of youth-and-boundless-energy. Pinkie plays a role in their lives as a reminder that they've *got* and *can have* lives, but a part of that is also that... well, sometimes it's awfully easy to forget that she's not always happy herself, as well as easy to forget that she can be responsible.

And they would've been right, if she hadn't broken down and guilt-tripped the foals into behaving, remember!

Maybe, maybe not, I'm afraid. I've got a couple of bits that I'm plugging away at between other pieces, but you'll notice it's also been about two years since I've actually published anything new.

Going to be changing that shortly, but my writing product has been woefully limited lately.

(Not to mention what I can definitively say are the worst two years of my life, objectively, to date... not gonna go into details, but writing has been very difficult as a result.)
