One day as Twilight takes inventory, she finds a strange scroll. Curious, she opens it, and unleashes a dark and ancient evil, the likes of which Equestria has never known. As the being goes throughout the land, it transforms, becoming more picturesque and dark. Lands become plagued by darkness, many ponies turn to stone, and the Elements of Harmony, as well as Princess Luna and Princess Celestia, simply vanish.
However, there is hope, for from the scroll also appears a strange pair. One is a pony with strange markings along their body, and a flaming mirror on their back. The other is a small bug-like creature who seems to do all the talking and prefers to not be called a bug. Amaterasu is confused at what is happening, but knows that he/she must stop Orochi from taking over these lands, as he tried to take over Nippon. Harnessing the power of new brush techniques, will Amaterasu be able to bring peace and color back to Equestria, or will Orochi consume the land with his dark magic? Or, will another, darker threat take over?

Based on both games I have played and a little bit of research Amaterasu is female. The DS you play as her son (Never really says who his father is but I can sorta guess). Shiranui was male but when he died and was reincarnated as a female (Amaterasu [though he is still considered the Grandfather of Chibi]).

Wow, that was a completely unexpected
at the end of the chapter! At first I was like, "Okay, so now there's a barrier. Uh-oh, it's the Cutie Mark Crusaders! Waka asked them to give Amaterasu something? Of course, there has to be a challenge that Furball needs to beat before she can get the item."
I really liked how Ammy became irritated at Issun for agreeing to play with the CMC without checking with Ammy first, by the way! And both of them figured, "What Could Possibly Go Wrong?" AKA the most classic form of Tempting Fate ever! And you also gave us a Gilligan Cut showing just how bad it really was!
When the Macguffin that Ammy did that killer obstacle course for initially looked like it was a rock, if that had really been the case, I would have had this reaction:
But then, Ammy picked it up, and it was revealed to be the Element of Prayers! In other words, the Orbital Friendship Cannon that's better known as The Elements of Harmony will be more powerful then ever when Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight Sparkle have been freed from their Astral Prisons!
In short, this is shaping up to be one wild ride! How wild? I'll let the Son of Sparda answer that question!

That was quite a good chapter. So the Spider Queen was the boss who was in charge of the area, but she was defeated because even though she was in a brand new body, she still had the exact same weakness as before. Moron.
And Amaterasu now has a glaive, courtesy of a certain Tao Master. Only question is, what's the name of the new weapon?
And the voice that tells Amaterasu what her new brush techniques are said that the two of them are of the same nature. Does that mean that the voice belongs to Princess Celestia?
And the Spider Queen has revealed that she was working for Orochi. Of course, he's probably just the Disk One Final Boss, like in Okami.

I've been dealing with a lot, so my time actually spent getting to work on this was limited to much less than I approve of. But I did it, it came out rather well, and I'll get to start on actually writing Rainbow Dash's chapter. Woot.

Okay, so our heroes arrive in Cloudsdale and spend the day searching, only to turn up no results.
However, when Ammy goes to sleep, the same voice that has been telling her about her new brush techniques informs her that sadly, while the Elements will be freed when they've all been found, and the voice will be freed, an evil greater then anything Ammy has ever faced before will also be freed.
And they've found the Rainbow Factory. Let's just hope the evil aura Ammy's sensing is being caused by the monsters in that place, and that it's not like the infamous Rainbow Factory from the story of the same name...

Well, technically, the evil IS one she's faced before. As stated, both the voice and this evil are from her past, memories she sealed away along with her voice. I'm hoping this will be a very interesting plot point, and will make the story even more interesting since I'm using... different, things for my story, things I haven't seen in any other Okami story ever.

At first, it looked like it was straight from The Rainbow Factory, but after Noriaki is defeated and Rainbow Dash has been restored, we find out that the vile Corruption had warped the place into a parody of its true self, and it's nothing like that in reality!
And it seems the being who will be released when all the Elements of Harmony have been freed is none other then Discord. Strange, why would he be freed along with the very thing that can defeat him?
